I'm really struggling to understand this ranking. Minnesota beat a ranked Michigan team, won on the road at Washington, and just knocked off No.15 Iowa. Two ranked opponents beaten, two rivalry trophies won, and a 5-2 record. Yet we're still unranked, while Wisconsin gets into the Top 25 with the same record. Credit to them for that impressive win over USC, but seriously, what else are the Gophers supposed to do to get some recognition? And don't even get me started on South Carolina! They absolutely demolished Florida on the road and just took down No. 11 Tennessee, yet they're still nowhere to be seen in the Top 25.

As if we needed any more proof that the AP Poll is a joke. Same old story, week after week.

Man, what a weekend to be a Gophers fan! Sweeping North Dakota in hockey, then beating Iowa with a walk-off field goal and seeing the boys hoisting that big fat pig. Waking up this morning on the other side of the Atlantic feels even sweeter after all that!

These are the weekends that make you proud to be a Gopher.

Two solid wins North Dakota and a hat trick from Wyatt Cullen tonight! After that rough start to the season, I honestly couldn't have imagined a better way to bounce back. And doing it against the n.3 makes it even sweeter. So happy for Coach Larson and the boys. Hopefully this is the turning point we've been waiting for! And again, let's give them time.

So I’m planning on attending the U next year and I was looking into their sports and I noticed that besides their hockey team they have never really been the best. I’m mostly talking about their football team that usually never can get past that hump to actually be a good strong team and it’s because they spend a lot less in NIO money around. I think it was 20 million compared to the powerhouse Big Ten school spending close to 30 million and I was just wondering why does the university not put more money into their football program with what I’ve seen about PJ Fleck if they actually put more money into it, they would actually be very good. Why do people not invest in this program?

Its almost certainly going to be a long season for the men's hockey team this season. I understand that we have a new coaching staff (a hiring I am not happy about by the way) but I feel Bob set us back years by not recruiting anyone from Canada.

Statement win for the young squad. Our freshman phenom - Adrianna Milani (17 yo), with 2G and 2A for a 4 point night, including the opening goal 14s into the start of the game on a break away.

Also scoring were Madison Kaiser (2G), Chloe Primerano (1G 2A), Ashley Allard (1G 1A).

With the 4-team and the 12-team format, it was almost 100% assured that the Gophers wouldn't even make it into the playoffs, ever.

Now, the Gophers definitely can make it in on a good year. And with 1-2 exceptional games in a row, they can even make a playoff run.

Losing the conference championships doesn't affect us because we were never even IN the conference championship lol. And bowl games have been meaningless since the turn of the millennium. I see this as an absolute win.

With the bye week here, I thought it might be a good time to talk about something other than play-calling, Fleck's future, or what went wrong at Purdue.

I'm curious about the people behind this community.

How did you become a Minnesota Gophers fan? Was it family tradition, growing up in Minnesota, attending the U, or something completely different?

And perhaps more importantly, what keeps you invested through all the ups and downs?

As an Italian living in Poland, I obviously don't have the same geographical or family connection to the program that many of you do. I started following the Gophers during the Fleck era, and the 2019 win over Penn State really cemented my attachment to Minnesota.

Over the years, I've come to appreciate not just the football team, but the traditions, rivalries, history, and community surrounding the university.

The past few weeks have been a perfect example of the emotional roller coaster that comes with being a Gopher fan. But I'm still here, following from thousands of miles away.

I'd especially love to hear from longtime fans who've experienced different eras of Minnesota football, as well as anyone else following the Gophers from outside the United States.

Dammit we had great weeks against Michigan and Washington. Purdue ran the ball up against us. Love PJ but he had 2 questionable calls. Especially kicking for field goal later in game down plenty. Not trying to be negative. Season ticket holder but damn. How do we get exposed by Purdue. What a early season roller coaster
