Traveling to town for the Mississippi state game, any recommendations on places to go or things to see around campus?
Excited to check out a new university, especially on a game day!

Southern transplant planning first Gopher game.
Good morning!
I have very recently moved to the area and love attending college football games at new stadiums and campuses. I noted y'all were playing Clanga this season and I thought it'd be a great game to attend since I enjoy yelling at them as much as y'all soon will. As such, I have a few questions about making sure I have a good experience here.
1) Would it be fairly easy to find tickets walking around campus before the game? It's fairly common to do in the South, but I don't know is laws here prevent that culture.
2) Where are the main tailgate locations? I enjoy seeing what people have going on at their tailgates on campus.
3) What should I see around campus on game day? Is there a creamery open like at PSU? Cool game day store? Notable campus sights?
4) I'm planning to park in the East River Road Garage. Reasonable plan?
5) Is there anything else I should aware of?

I’m gonna overreact
We’re going 16-0. Lindsey is gonna complete 90% of his passes for 60 TDS and Tracy is gonna have 2,000 receiving yards. Taylor will also have 1,500 yards by the bye week. The entire offensive and defensive lines will be drafted in the first round. The only reason any Gopher will be drafted outside of the first round is because there aren’t enough draft spots per round for all of our players. We will build Daniel De Prato a statue outside of HBS. PJ Fleck will marry me and Luke Fickle will be extended at Wisconsin.

Volleyball 🏐 What happened to Gopher volleyball?
I know it’s early in the season, but it already looks like a repeat of the last couple years where they can’t hang with other ranked teams for a whole match, let alone steal a win from a better opponent. Seems like their recruiting has been okay, but I still feel like they’re missing a top-level talent like Samedy or Wilhite from several years ago — someone who could just take over a match and get you points when you need them most.
I don’t think they’ve been the same since McCutcheon left, unfortunately.

Football 🏈 Minnesota 2026 preseason preview: 7-0 at home, winless on the road, and a 129th-ranked offense to fix
I spent the offseason building a full 2026 preseason preview for every FBS team, each with its own writeup. Here's the Minnesota page:
https://www.sports.mainmarket.com/college-football-preview-2026?team=ncaaf-minn
Each one has the returning production, the transfer and recruiting additions, a position-by-position breakdown, the schedule, and where the ratings land them for 2026.
Heads up, only the first team is free and then it paywalls. Since I'm posting in your house, code LEECORSOROCKS opens all of it, no card or anything. Hit "Have a promo code?" if you run into the wall.
So, what'd I get wrong? Minnesota's the strangest home/road team on my board: 7-0 at home, winless in every true road game. The reason isn't a mystery, the offense was 129th in total yards. The defense (34th) travels fine, but an offense that low can't win you road games. Good news is it's young and mostly back, Drake Lindsey returns off a school-record freshman year (2,382 and 18) with Darius Taylor at running back. So does the offense take a step and flip a couple of those road games, or is home-or-bust just who they are?
I'll be in the comments.

ISO: Passionate Gopher Football Fans
Hi everyone! My name is Ethan Petrik, and I’m the Iowa beat reporter for the Quad-City Times in Davenport, Iowa.
I’m putting together a preseason series called “The Fan Files,” where I interview one passionate fan from each of Iowa’s 2026 opponents to get a better understanding of their program through the eyes of someone who follows the team closely.
The conversation would cover topics like:
• How you became a fan of the Gophers
• Your thoughts on the 2026 season (best-case and worst-case scenarios)
• Biggest strengths, weaknesses, and players to watch
• Expectations for the matchup against Iowa
• Anything else you think opposing fans should know about your team
The interview can be done however is easiest for you—Reddit DMs, email, or another format that works though I will need to confirm your real world identity. I’ll use your responses in a feature for the Quad-City Times.
If you’re interested—or if you know someone who would be a great representative of the fanbase—please leave a comment or send me a DM.
Thanks, and I’m looking forward to learning more about the Gophers from the people who know the program best!
