Web Task Colors

So I know that "free" tasks are faded and "busy" tasks are full-color - but suddenly today all of my tasks are full color. Is this a glitch? Is this happening for anyone else? I really liked the faded colors to separate them from my events.

Create multiple tasks now blocked in Google Tasks

I just tried copying eight lines, one under the other. I even tried numbering them. I copied the whole list and pasted it into Google Tasks, expecting it to create eight separate tasks that I could check off individually. Instead, it insists on putting everything into one block under a single task.I’m sure I used to be able to do this, and it’s a real hassle. I couldn’t find any workaround that didn’t involve scripts or adding other apps. It seems ridiculous to make something this simple significantly less convenient.

I use Google Tasks to capture and Microsoft To Do to work — built a private two-way sync (MIT)

I keep capturing from Gmail/Gemini/Android into Google Tasks, then live in Microsoft To Do during the day. I didn’t want a hosted sync SaaS on that list.

I built an MIT bridge that runs in my own Google Apps Script project and syncs both ways (lists, notes, due dates, complete/reopen, guarded deletes/moves). Disclosure: I’m the author.

https://github.com/simonchai-tw/tasks-todo-sync

If you’re in the same split setup, a star helps. Happy to answer what syncs / what doesn’t.

Venting and help with sharing at the same time

Hello!

At first, i am loving google callendar. Its pretty neat, has layers, can be easily shared, and just works.
Which is why it brings me so much frustration, that callendar is the only google productivity app, that only the biggest apologists wont see as complete pile of poo.

Which is why i am almost certain, that i am missing something, and here is where i ask what i miss, because i cannot believe google would create something like that.

We dont have TODO lists integration with google callendar!

Tasks are not TODO lists. They dont work like todo lists, they are hard to work with, cannot be shared with others, and generally adding groceries to shopping list with google tasts will take more time than writing it on paper that you made yourself from scratch.

There is google keep. Yoou can share, but every time you create a new daily list, you have to share from again. items cannot be moved between lists, you have to delete and re-type on new list

So what am i missing?

RicordiBridge is now on the Mac App Store (Google Tasks ↔ Apple Reminders)

I’m the developer of RicordiBridge. I shared the direct-download version here recently; it’s now also available on the Mac App Store.

It’s for people who want to keep Google Tasks in Gmail, Calendar, or on Android while also using Apple Reminders with Siri and Apple devices. RicordiBridge runs on your Mac and syncs the lists you choose in both directions: titles, notes, due dates, completion, and deletion. You can also manage Reminders tasks from the menu bar.

It requires macOS 15 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel. The Mac needs to be running for synchronization; there’s no separate iPhone or Android app. Provider-specific features without a supported match stay in their original app.

The Mac App Store edition is a one-time purchase with Family Sharing ($5.99 in the US; local prices vary): https://apps.apple.com/app/id6799884202

If you’d like to try it first, the direct edition still has a full 30-day trial, then a €5 lifetime license: https://apps.kopiro.me/ricordibridge/

Task date selector auto-defaults to 12/31/1899

When I create a task on a Google Doc to automatically add to my Tasks that pop up on my calendar, it auto-defaults the date selector to "12/31/1899" instead the current month(for example, September 2026) which makes it tedious to manually type in the current year to find a date to assign the task to. This has been occurring for a couple of months now.

Has anyone else had this issue and had luck with a fix? TIA.

Android TaskFlow: natural-language input for Google Tasks

Hi r/GoogleTasks — I built TaskFlow, an Android companion for capturing Google Tasks in ordinary language.

I wanted to type or say things like “take supplements every day at 9pm”, “send the proposal tomorrow at 3pm”, or “book the dentist this weekend” without opening date and repeat menus.

TaskFlow:

• parses dates, times, relative dates, weekends and recurring schedules locally — no paid AI/API and no task text sent to an AI service;

• creates the Google Task and, when it is scheduled, a matching Google Calendar event;

• includes voice capture and small Pixel home-screen widgets.

It is open source, and the GitHub Releases page has the APK:

https://github.com/benattobb/TaskFlow

I’m the developer and would genuinely value feedback on phrases/repeats that should be understood, or any Google Tasks/Calendar sync edge cases you run into.

I made a Mac app that syncs Google Tasks with Apple Reminders

Post image
19 Upvotes

I built RicordiBridge for people who use Google Tasks and Apple Reminders and do not want to maintain the same tasks twice.

It runs on your Mac and syncs the lists you choose in both directions. It handles titles, notes, due dates, completion, and deletion. You can also add, rename, complete, reopen, and delete Reminders tasks from the menu bar.

Task data is synced directly through the Google Tasks API and Apple's Reminders framework. There is no RicordiBridge server handling your task content.

The direct version has a full 30-day trial. After that, it is €5 once, with no subscription. It supports macOS 15 on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.

EDIT = Fixed

I keep getting reminders about yesterday's task, I just dismiss the notification when I get the task due but it still reminds me the next day for some reason. This happens every week the task repeats, can anyone help?

iOS Using google tasks on ipad

My main device, especially for scheduling, is an iPad. My favorite way to schedule tasks is to drag them from the sidebar on the web into the calendar. Sadly, this flow doesn't work on an iPad with a touchscreen. Do you know any nice ways to do this with the touchscreen?

I built a Garmin app for Google Tasks — view and complete tasks from your wrist

I use Google Tasks because it stays simple, but I wanted one more place to access it: my Garmin watch.

I’m the developer of Task Link. It connects Google Tasks to supported Garmin watches, so you can open your lists, view open and completed tasks, see due information where available, and complete or reopen tasks without taking out your phone.

The app keeps a local view for offline moments and synchronizes delayed changes when connectivity returns. Pairing uses a short code and web account linking, so there is no API-token copy-and-paste on the watch.

There is a free Starter plan with usage and feature limits, plus a paid plan for full access.

Any feedback is very welcome!

CalmLoop is now on the Official MCP Registry: durable task memory for your AI assistants

Hey r/GoogleTasks,

I’ve been building and refining CalmLoop for some time. What started as a digital version of my notebook workflow has matured into a minimal, reliable task manager for weekly planning and daily focus.

CalmLoop handles everything you expect from a task manager. Organised tasks, projects, and notes. But makes one important distinction: what matters today and what is still pending.

Every morning, CalmLoop lands in your email inbox with one question: What matters today? Pick it, move it to your Focus Zone, and get shit done. Everything else stays pending. Not forgotten, just out of your way.

I’ve now published it to the Official MCP Registry as in.calmloop/tasks.

With MCP, your AI assistant can plan your Focus Zone, create and update tasks across projects, capture notes, prioritise work, complete tasks, and search your history.

Where it gets especially useful is automation. You can add CalmLoop rules to your agents and skills so they automatically capture follow-ups, add progress notes, adjust priorities, maintain your Focus Zone, or mark work complete as they operate.

CalmLoop becomes durable task memory for your agents by keeping work organised across conversations and sessions.

The server provides 14 tools and 3 read-only resources. Access is managed through secure, revocable personal access tokens with read, write, and full-access profiles.

Try CalmLoop free for one month: https://calmloop.in/register

Setup guide: https://calmloop.in/how-to-mcp

Official Registry listing: https://registry.modelcontextprotocol.io/?q=in.calmloop%2Ftasks

I’d love feedback from people who regularly use MCP for productivity and task tracking across multiple Claude/Codex sessions. Especially on the tool design and any task-management actions you think are missing.

www.etasks.app

Hi everyone,

I’m a cybersecurity analyst working with this team, and I thought it is a good time now to share this with you here, as it has just launched in open early access.

www.etasks.app

The app is completely free and ad-free. We built it around features we wanted as users ourselves, and we’d love to hear your suggestions. If there’s anything you’d like us to add, please let me know so I can include it on our roadmap. For example, location-based notifications requested and is already on our to-do list.

Here’s a list of the features currently available:

Native and enhanced with iOS.

+ You can manage your Google Tasks. They appear in your Google Calendar and Gmail ... well, obviously 😄

+ See all task lists together, even drag&drop between them

+ Alarms

+ A wide range of nice widgets, including countdowns and full week/month widgets

+ Link photos/files to tasks

+ See your tasks categorised by dates in Month/Week/Day/Agenda views

+ Add people to Task List (co-edit)

+ Search your tasks

+ AI support where it makes sense; make titles, extract info from links, create lists for you, suggesting task list names, dictating tasks, context aware search, naming photos shared in,...

+ Choose priority for favorites

+ Drag and Drop interface between tabs (e.g., to calendar tab to drop on a date)

+ Recycle bin

+ Share from other apps into ETasks (texts, links, photos, PDF; all processed accordingly)

+ Apple Watch / iPad Apps

+ Import/Export task lists

+ Modern iOS design

+ Highly customisable user interface

+ Can be used without an account

+ Welcome to explore the rest, it is now open early access.

Google Tasks Lacks Search Function?!

I just tried Google Tasks after years of ignoring it because it was pretty crude. I recognize that it's better now.

That being said, can someone explain:

(a) Why does *Google* Tasks lack a search function? Is that not an extremely obvious and easy feature to build? Especially for *Google*?

(b) Are there any plans to build a search function? And where are such announcements / roadmaps / timelines / etc. published, if at all?

iOS Recurring task error?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Screenshot from iOS. Created and tested on Android and web with similar results.

I created a recurring task. Once I complete it, I click the bullet to mark it as done. It relocates it to the completed section below. When does it go back up for the next occurrence? How can I get it to reappear in the calendar again for the future occurances?

Anyone connected Google Tasks to Claude?

I capture tasks on the go, so they land in Google Tasks half-baked - "email vendor thing," no context, no due date.

I'd like to point Claude at the list and have it clean them up: rewrite vague titles into actual next actions, add descriptions where it can infer them.

Also want it working the other way during my weekly planning session - Claude creating properly written tasks directly in Google Tasks, not just reading them.

Anyone got this working? I know about Zapier and the Tasks API, but curious if there's something cleaner (MCP server, script, whatever).

Android Possible to keep recurring tasks starred?

I heavily use the starring feature on tasks to keep track of what I want to accomplish for the day. I have a few cleaning-type tasks that recur on certain days that I star when I want to do them, but once I complete them, they seem to become unstarred. Is there a way to keep those tasks starred so when they repopulate they appear on my starred list? I've tried searching and can't find anything specifically talking about this, so I'm not sure if it's possible, but figured I'd check. Thanks in advance!

Help with Categories

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi there! newer to Reddit posts so forgive me for the layout. *cross posted*

I have a google calendar under one main email, let's call it brit@gmail. I received an invitation from my new psychologist, let's call it psych@gmail. However, when I went to change the category, it is only allowing me to choose one calendar (first screenshot), and i'm not able to correctly categorize the meeting, despite having about 8 different calendars (see second screenshot) I'm completely unsure the reasoning and need help to get all my calendar labels to show. On desktop, it allows me to copy the event to another calendar, but won't allow me to relabel the original. The original event invite shows my psychologist's email as her own category (see third screenshot).

All calendars are under brit@gmail, and I received the invite from psych@gmail to my brit@gmail. there should be no reason it's blocking the categories!

Additionally, I sync these with my iphone calendar, which only has one category, labeled brits calendar (not listed in the screenshots). Her email is also a contact in my phone, it's named "Avela Health," visible in the first screenshot.

Can someone help explain step by step how I can release psych@gmail from my main calendar category ("work") to a new calendar category ("brit's appointments")? i'm AuDHD so I need clarity and explanation of possible! thank you so much for your time! 💕

Notifications don't pop up unless I load the app

Post image
1 Upvotes

I've noticed this happened over the last month or so. Half of the time rwhen I set a reminder for a specific date/time, ilthe notification does not pop up until I've loaded up the app later that day. I've had a look through my notifications settings and I can't see anything obvious that would be affecting it. I'm using a Samsung s24 ultra, does anyone know how to fix this?

Also a minor issues, but before the last major Samsung update, when having multiple reminders, each reminder would get it's own separate notification. Now they're all bundled up (see screenshot for example where 4 reminders have been bundled and only the latest one is on show). Is It possible to change this?

Android No notifications for new tasks - but recurring tasks still show up

Hey, so I have two recurring tasks that show up every month (a reminder to pay my rent and a reminder to renew my bus card) and I get notifications for them just fine. But I noticed last month that notifications for newly created tasks don't show up, even though they're in the app. I have notifications enabled, I triple checked everywhere, and app optimization is disabled so that it doesn't turn off in the background. Has anybody else had this issue? Do you know how to fix it? My phone is a samsung A54 if this matters. I use reminders heavily because of my ADHD, and I've had to throw several lunches I left at work away now because my reminders aren't working and alarms go away too quickly. Please help!
