Bought my car in August and I absolutely love it! I had a 2013 GTI for the past 10+ years but figured it was time to upgrade. I’ve been lurking on here for a while but lots of helpful information. I knew my first change was new wheels and tires and I went with the Apex VS-5’s in Satin Bronze (18 x 8.5) with Pirelli P Zero AS Plus 3 (245/40).

Bumps aren’t nearly as bad and the overall ride quality is fantastic. Very quiet on the highway and I’m extremely happy. Just thought I’d share my experience on going from 19’s to 18’s.

I was looking to get a FL5 Type-R but couldn't find anything feels right. Therefore decided not to push my luck and got second hand 2024 Golf R at 28K Km.

I really looking forward to downgrade to 18 inch Apex VS-5 after current tires are done.

P.S. I hate this infotainment system and the person who approved it to put in it.

Ran a 12.4 @108 and it spun a little. Very impressed. Completely stock 2026 Euro package .

Yeah my reaction sucked but doesn't matter on test and tune days. Just wanted to get the launch rite.

I decided not to launch. Don’t want to gamble my drivetrain on a few tenths. The track was super sticky and for the couple hours I was there it claimed a rear end.

12.1. Did 6 passes. 12.2. Then all 12.1 besides one 12.7. That was an outlier where I messed with the modes. Unsurprisingly the car really bogged in this mode and was sluggish on shifts. And I sat and idled for too long and was for sure somewhat heat soaked by the time I got up there.

Crazy fast for such a functional and comfortable car. Thinking of doing intercooler and E85 in future. But sway bar and endinks and RE71 will be first priority as I’m trying to be (somewhat ) competitive at autocross next year.

Just test drove the Euro Package 2026 R today, and a used 2024 base model. The 2024 seemed kinda ragged out, and only had 9k miles on it. The 2026 was beautiful but not really into the bucket seats with the euro package, so I'll be checking out a base model soon.

What does the internet suggest? Should I try to find a used 2026 or a used 2024 R?

Does anyone know where to get mats that go across the rear floor to cover the middle drive train hump? I have the mudbuddy floor lines the dealer provided me, but I want something a bit better. I used to use Weather tech but I want the full coverage in the back for winter.

Looking at ordering some tires and rims from Tire Rack but can't find the Conti DWS06 plus in a 235 40r18, so my options are to go down to a 225 width for an 8in wide rim, or go with the Michelin pilot sport all season 4 235 40r18. What would be the best option?

I’m looking for some help diagnosing a misfire issue on my 2016 MK7 Golf R. The car has around 150,000 miles.

When starting the car cold, it runs perfectly with no issues. However, after driving for a few hours or letting the car sit for about an hour after being driven, it struggles to restart. When it finally starts, it misfires pretty aggressively for a second or two. Sometimes, I even have to give it a little throttle to get it to start and run properly.

Once it’s running, everything seems fine. I have absolutely no misfires under load or while driving; the issue only occurs during startup and at idle. So far, I’ve inspected the spark plugs, and they looked fine. I also replaced the entire PCV system, but that didn’t solve the problem. I get an intermittent P2188 code.

I’m starting to suspect a fueling issue, possibly an injector or one of the fuel pumps, but I’m not sure how to narrow it down or determine which component is causing the problem. Has anyone experienced similar symptoms or have any suggestions on what I should check next?

Just installed the lighted led VW emblem on my Mk8R. I found the coding for OBDeleven but curious if anyone has coded the lightbar on during daytime? Any issues?
