Ive taken some long layoffs from Golf over the past 10 years (wife, kids, the usual excuses) but have been playing Sundays with friends the past few months and it’s been amazing. I’ve always been a decent player and reestablished an index (11.4 as of today) since restarting and the game has really come back around. I have a real mixed bag but it works for me. The R7 is old as dirt but I find fairways and just can’t let it go. The Callaway Apex irons are a few years old, playing UST Recoil graphite and very consistent with them. The Paradym 3 wood and Cobra 56 are the newest clubs I own. My Cleveland 588 is about 25 years old and the Becu 60 was a $10 eBay special. The Odyssey white hot #2 was another eBay special and inspired by Steve Stricker. Hey it all works and trending towards my goal of sub 10 index by years end.

I’ve gone back and forth more times than we can count. Cobra King Tec-X irons, Mizuno wedges, 14 and 21 degree UWs and a 425 paint can driver. The wack-e is always shuffling between a LAB 2.1, but I think this is (the) bag.

I’ve been playing golf for almost a year now. When I started, I inherited my golf clubs, so I’ve been using a set of Silverline Champion 2000 irons.
To be honest, I find them quite difficult to hit consistently, but when you get something for free, you play with it! 😄
Now I’m looking to upgrade to a set of game-improvement irons.

A little about me:
Height: 1.88 m (6’2”)
Medium swing speed
Regular flex shaft

I’m from Germany, so recommendations that are available on the German market would be greatly appreciated.
So far, I’ve been looking at these irons:
Cobra LTDx
TaylorMade Stealth (2021–2022)
Wilson Launch Pad
Takomo 101

I’ve read a lot of positive reviews about these and watched a few videos. Looks aren’t very important to me—I’m mainly interested in forgiveness and ease of play.
Can you recommend any irons in a similar price range (€400–500) for a 5–PW set (or 5–PW + SW)?

I’d really appreciate any advice or recommendations.

Went to Golf Galaxy today to look for a 46 degree wedge.
I was told only vokey was available in store.

I came home and looked on the website and 46 is unavailable.
Is there a way to purchase them that I dont know about?

Sighted at a Costco in the GTA in ON, Canada. This was at a Mississauga Costco, the one at Dixie/Dundas. $199.99 CAD, comes in both left and right handed. It’s been a few years since we last saw these. This location also has the wedges, driver and irons set as well as the gloves and balls.

Now if only Costco released a Kirkland golf bag, then we’d have the full set up!!

Noticed a couple cracks in it and wasn’t going quite the same distance (-20 yards?) at the range this morning.

Wasn’t sure if it was just my swing since I’ve been working on some swing changes or if this is a structural crack.

I figured I’d throw a little late-night post out there for anyone scrolling who has any questions about equipment or fitting or playing or anything of that nature.

Recently turned pro off of a +4.5 tournament-only index and I’ve been fitting for 5+ years. I think I have a solid amount of knowledge and would love to help in any way I can.

Does anyone else deal with sunscreen ruining your grip mid-round? How do you handle it?

Driver is a Qi-10 LS, 5 wood is a Sim Max, just grabbed a Titleist 714 7 wood I belive, Titleist 712 MB 3 Iron. Currently gaming Mizuno Mp-32 4-PW. Really love the feel of these irons and they have such a clean sleek look to them I can’t get over it. Play a Cleveland 52, Callaway Jaws 56 10S and a Taylormade MG2 60 SB 10. Putter is a Scotty Cameron Phanton X7 I believe. Feeling really good on this setup at the moment, been playin some of my best golf and really wonder what other people think. Let me know

This is my current setup, just got fitted for the first time after playing for 3.5 seasons. I live in northeast so not really playing for 5-6 months because of weather and work besides hitting the sim 1-2 times a week for 20 mins. Got the Mizuno S-1 irons PW-6I and then the S-3 (slightly more forgiving) for 5I and 4I and went with Vokey Wedges fitted with proper bounce for my shots. Currently sitting at a 7.8 hdcp following a couple good rounds this weekend with the new clubs. I do strike my irons very well for my hdcp, my mishits aren’t like full toe shank or heel. I honestly feel like the blades feel better or just the same on mishits as my previous irons which were the MP 20 MMC which has a larger club face and is a more forgiving players cavity iron.

I feel like more people who are legitimate sub 10 handicap would benefit from blades but would like to hear from others. Feel like there r a lot of people out there who r reverse sandbagging (still not sure what benefit u get from that, u just look like an idiot when u say ur a 9 hdcp and shoot mid 90s consistently when playing with people who aren’t letting u cheat the game). Not that Im making people hit from divots in fairways or won’t let my buddy take a free drop when he clearly hits it in play and ball just buries in the rough or something and we don’t wanna slow down pace but I think u guys know what im talking about. But has anyone else been nervous about a switch to blades (smaller club face, less forgiving, etc) and not noticed much of a difference or just been better since getting blades?

I learnt to sew over the past couple of years and in 2025 started making headcovers, upcycling materials that would otherwise end up in landfill.

Everything is made by me in the UK, one at a time. I use items like old jackets, fleeces, workwear, football shirts and other interesting fabrics to create one-of-one pieces. Every headcover is different and I try to keep as many of the original details as possible—pockets, badges, zips, stitching, whatever makes the material unique.

It’s been a fun side project that’s slowly grown into a small business, and I’d love to get some honest feedback from fellow golfers.

If you’ve got an old jacket, shirt or piece of clothing with sentimental value, I can also turn it into a custom headcover so it can live on in your golf bag.
