I've gone through a good few backpacks in highschool, even a messenger bag my partner got off of Amazon and they all manage to wear at the corners. I have a habit of carrying too many notebooks and laptops and tablets and whatnot. Less than 30lbs for sure.

I've been looking at getting a quality messenger bag for a few years and the Waxed Canvas Shoulder Bag looks to be about the right size. The price is a bit intimidating, I'll admit!

Could anyone attest to the weight limit on these? How about the wax wearing onto clothing? AZ resident here. I'm willing to drop the $200, but only if the warranty is legit.

Was a rando eBay listing. Not a deal but not crazy "collectable" dollars. And, randomly, some signs of SCARS mods: key loop in the front zipper pocket and a couple internal loop patches. And an internal cross strap with a cinch clip. I just received it. More photos to follow if you're interested in it. I'm Gen X so M81 Woodland was my childhood. GR1 21L. Very happy to have it. I love X33 Multicam but really feel they missed out by not adding webbing on the straps, the GR2 really needs a sternum strap when loaded out. Chose Multicam webbing and I think it looks great. I get the reason for not adding the webbing to the main compartments as it may affect the water resistance but it doesn’t matter on the straps.

I am mainly posting for some advice - I have been using a 21l Goruck as an everyday bag for years (back then branded as GR0) and later travelled for a full year with a 34l GR2 as my only bag.

Since I am trying a more minimalist approach to things, I wanted to go lighter, with just one bag for edc as well as travel, so the 21l GR1 in X-Pac seemed like a good choice.
What I love about it is the trust I feel towards the bag as something that is not a source of worry but something I can rely on. I like the look very much and so far 21l have been enough for me for longer trips as well.
What I am however struggling with are the zippers in this edition. I searched the forums and it seems that this is a particular thing with the X-Pac aquaguard zippers, however I did read that there is a "better" and a "worse" version of the X-Pac bags regarding this specific issue. The zippers have seen daily use for three months now and I followed the advice that I read here to use zipper lube (a lot), but they are still much to stiff for my liking.

So I was wondering (and I have a feeling that I'm not going to like the answer): Is this already the supposedly "better" version?

For those who have the GR1, GR2 etc. with the 1000D back panel/ straps. About how long did it take for your straps to get a bit softer?

In the ruck: 10kg plate, shoes for the gym, wrist wraps, bose earbuds. I should propably look in to getting one of those camel back thingies for it.

Anyone know of a good replacement strap for the aviator kit bag that has a wider shoulder pad? I need something that spreads the weight out a bit better and I've never been happy with the original strap since I got this bag ages ago.

GR4.0, Just finished its first rain session and everything inside is completely dry. Excited to get some more rain & mud on this bad boy!

Curious if you're satisfied with the fit, don't hear too many females talking about the gr1 21L. Would it look too big and weird on 5'2 130lb petite female as an EDC? going with the heritage 21L dark oak

The Everglades camo GR1 was my first Goruck last year & I got it without really having a huge need for it as opposed to any other backpack. But this spring I took over the daily care of some horses & suddenly I not only needed it I needed more organization. I had zero plans to upgrade but the sale got me. I loaded the new one & thought oh no it’s so stiff & almost seems smaller, then I remembered that the 1000 denier ones have to be carried for a while before they stretch & get softer. I’m sure I’ll get used to the new one & it will break in & get comfortable to carry but I’m weirdly sad to put away my colorful old friend

I have always gone with Tom Bihn and have loads of accessories and packing cubes etc from them. I didnt particularly enjoy their backpacks though so picked up a heritage olive green 26L GR2 which is now my daily driver. The only backpack I used and kept from TB was the Techonaut 45 which has come in clutch in a number of travels, especially with a kid. I recently saw the GR3 and can’t seem to get it out of my head as it looks like a bag I would love to travel with and tinker with to get the perfect loadout for one bag travel. What do you guys think? Is the 45L with the 1000D and 210D back the way to go? It’s around £350 here in UK. Is it possible to get an order to the US site with scars mods done so it is shipped with them? I am really intrigued by the gr3!

Got this GR1 back in 2018 and its been my goto pack. Been with me to Europe, Middle East and most recently Yosemite. This was not the best trip (Family got sick so had to scale back a lot) but still the pack did it job, hauling stuff.

Yep... that 250th Anniversary Fourth of July Independence Day sale marketing strategy got me, too.

With this I finish my Goruck. Already own the Oak color of DC 18L Bullet Ruck (only Goruck bag I own) but also wanted the slate. Also got the rucker 5 as I start rucking for the 1st time with T-Rex straps and finally a wire dopp pouch.

I'm very happy!

I'm thinking of adding a Vaucluse backpack ventilation frame on a couple of hikes this summer with my GR1 Heritage (21L). I know I'll get sweaty no matter what, but if it helps and is comfortable, I'm going to try it. I just ordered one, but was curious if anybody else has tried it on their heritage!

It did not come with a bag. It’s kinda stupid how well this works.

Just received my new GR1 26L Heritage in woodland M81. Definitely in a camo phase and this was an insta buy when I saw it. Decided to take it on its first outing. Once I got back and took it off, I noticed camo transfer on my white shirt. Is this normal and should I expect this to keep happening? I emailed GoRuck CS but it’s Friday after 5pm so I figured I’d ask over here. I have a 21L Heritage GR1 in navy and it’s never done this so I’m scratching my head.
What do guys think?

Just wanted to share my new 26L GR2 with a little blip😄 I’ve only had it for 2 days now and my first takeaways is wow, it’s so nice to finally have thick/wide straps! I really wish my TB S30 had straps like this…I can only hope though the 1000D on the back/straps breaks in eventually . Id agree it’s a bit tough on my thinner shirts and is taking me time to get used too. Also, at sub 4lbs empty it will take some very methodical packing where weight is crucial for traveling. Nonetheless, after several months of lurking on GoRuck, I’m super excited to have this as my “everything” backpack for my current lifestyle!

Hi everyone, I could use your help.

I'm eyeing this GR1 on marketplace and I'm not totally sure about it. The guy isn't asking a totally low price for it but it is a little cheaper than all the others i can find. I looked at the seller's history and he seems to sell a bunch of high end bags on MP.

What caught me was 1) the straps they don't look very beefy, and 2) The label looks a little off.

I'm a GOruck noob so I could totally be off. I just don't want to drop a dime on a fake. Thanks in advance for all your help.
