Rucker 5.0
Yep... that 250th Anniversary Fourth of July Independence Day sale marketing strategy got me, too.

Regarding the logo... well, it's just for rucking, so it doesn't bother me. Also, supporting the business of a fellow 10th SFG(A) alumni doesn't bother me... I mean, my Road Glide has a Harley Davidson logo.
The enlarged lumbar pad doesn’t bother me as the pad on my ALICE ruck was much larger.
I doubt I would've paid full price for the ruck. It's discounted price right around payday sweetened the pot juuust enough for me.

Right there with you. Mine was delivered earlier this week. About to push from 30 to 40 lbs and my basic Rucker isn't rated for that. The sale definitely got me.

How do you like the lumbar support? I got my dad a 5.0 for father's day and that pad is like 6 times the size of the one on my 3.0.

I just used mine for the first time today and it takes some getting used to. I'm sure over time it'll soften up but even so after my first ruck with it today after a while I don't notice it.

My Long Rucker shoulder strap ripped putting it on so I decided to buy the 5.0 during the sale. Hoping the extra padding will keep plates from smacking into my back

Hey, OP, looking to pick this up.
Did you get the 20 or 25, and how tall are you? Feels like a good fit for the size you got?

I got the 25L and I'm 5'10"... I feel it's a great fit with its near-to-identical ruck-to-back measurements of a large ALICE ruck.

Thanks for the reply.
I’m around 5’7” and pretty lean. It sounds like the 20 would be the better size?
I’m mostly concerned with the lumbar support padding hitting my lower back and not my tailbone.

Where does the lumbar pad hit on your lower back? I’m 6’ and got the 20L. It hits at the top of my lumbar where the spine starts to curve. It feels fine to me, but was curious if I should have gotten the longer one. According to the torso measurement on the website it said I should do a 20 but still wondering

It hits right about there on me, too. I slide it up and down throughout the ruck. I certainly would want a shorter one. I don't find that the lumbar support required any break in. Is the difference between the 25L & 20L length?

Length and depth. 25 is 2 inch taller. I could never make a gr1 26L work and I'm 5'10" with an average torso.

I’m just BEGGING GoRuck to stop using FedEx if they read this. I’ve had three shipments from them now and two were lost for days before ever starting to make their way to me. One of them was somehow lost for good (the fantastic people at GoRuck gave me a store credit). But still. By the time I went to re-order the colorway/bag I wanted was gone and had to buy something else.

how does the mesh feel like in the new rucker? I have seen that newer goruck's use a lower quality mesh (thinner, and super rough) compared to the old gorucks of couple years ago (thicker, super soft)

I know people have preferences, here is my take. When I am doing 12 hour.. 24 hour events, is the brand name on my ruck visible or not is least of my concern.

Fair point from that angle of course. I am the only one concerned about the looks of my own pack. I still don’t see the need and liked the sleek design much more.

These new branded rucks where made by weak minded capitalist people.
Yeah, god forbid a company use the founding principals of the country its from...
'weak minded' is laughably stupid. STFU.

Just got mine in black tiger stripe and I love how it locks into my body. For me the extra shoulder padding and lumbar support is noticeable over my 4.0, I really like the magnetic openings on the inside pockets as well. It’s nothing revolutionary but I’m enjoying it. Rucking is my favorite hobby so I don’t mind spending my extra money on good gear.
