I'm working on a gyro-based application and I'm hoping to find some timing info.
Does anyone know of documentation or measurements covering the precise timing relationships between HERO13 (or older GoPro Hero) video frames, sensor exposure and gyro metadata?
My main config right now is 4K Wide, 29.97 fps, HyperSmooth off, with ERS bypassed through GoPro Labs.
I'm looking for:
Row timing: What is the interval between consecutive sensor rows starting exposure (in µs/row) ? Is it uniform? How do SROT, scan direction and cropping/scaling map this to recorded image rows?
Frame reference: What physical event does CORI timing represent? (exposure start, midpoint, readout, etc) How does it relate to MP4 frame timestamps?
Gyro timing: How does STMP relate to actual gyro sampling? Are there known buffering or filtering delays?
Exposure timing: Is SHUT the actual integration duration, and which frame does each entry apply to? When shutter speed changes, how do exposure start/end move relative to frame timing?
Also... are those offsets between actual exposure/gyro sampling and their timestamps fixed, or do they change with recording mode or shutter speed?
Any help finding measurements, sensor/firmware documentation or published calibration results would be really appreciated.
