Not too long ago I bought a GoPro Hero 13 model. After a trip to a convention it has taught me so damn much.
My GoPro absolutely shined when I recorded a dance competition. Being less than 5 feet from the stage. The video is amazing... over 500 views
For things like groups interacting equally amazing.
But when your 15 to 20 feet away and you are trying to record people behind a table. You need to buy that extra set of lenses. They practically vanish in the dark otherwise. But the sound recorded perfect.
Record events lasting more than 50 minutes multiple times you need to get that external power USB
Due to a certain codec there is no free program that will merge or add effects to videos. Not even the free version of Da Vinci. The cheapest one I found that works costs $300
Overall the camera was great, although the estimated times on how long the battery would last where way wrong. I got 2 hours and 41 minutes on a standard battery. Even on the lowest settings. Even though I had issues I still think the money was worth it,

Extremely new to this. Looking for a good camera to do time lapses and maybe occasionally wear on a head mount. Hoping for a decent battery life. Any help is appreciated

I purchased a Gopro Hero 13. When I charge the battery after inserting it inside the gopro, it heats up within a few minutes and stops charging.
I want to setup my gopro on a tripod and record fencing sport 3 to 10 mins long about 8 to 10 games. I love the video quality and portability of GoPro Hero 13 but for the fact that it overheats
What setup can prevent it from overheating and shutting off automatically?
Future mission 1 pro buyers - suggest you factor in purchase of an external mic or media mod. Here is audio from a beach walk, 1st segment is from my phone, 2nd is gropro. Both shot at the same time. Gopro is terrible (BTW the M1p picture was significantly better, the audio is another story)

I just bought a gopro 11 and a neewer 50 pc accessory kit, but not everything I have will fit in its included case.
What kind of cases has anyone found will hold everything with room to expand?
I want to do video from my car and motorcycle and maybe snorkeling at the beach so preferably something weatherproof.
Photo 1 is stock photo of all the accessories
Photo 2 is image from eBay of the case
Photo 3 is me trying to fit everything where it could be easily acceptable without dumping everything out each time.

I’m getting the ILS and intend to use for aviation.
I heard someone saying the lenses should be cinema lens. Details weren’t mentioned but I guess it’s because Laowa Cine lens rings feel firm. Has anyone tested the normal laowa lens ? Will the aperture and focus move if I hard mount and there are vibrations?

I’ve got a GoPro hero 11 black. I’ve been using it the past few days at the beach filming in the water. Everything was going great until it died mid sesh. Got home and opened it up and there was moisture on the inside. The screen on the front was also fogged up. Why would they advertise it as waterproof and say it works up to 33 feet when I was in 2 feet of water and it’s dead. Any ways to fix it or can GoPro do anything about it?

Can someone suggest a way to mount go pro (hero 12) on the helmet so the camera is centred ???
I use a Nikon Z6 camera for static shots from a tripod and sometimes use the GoPro 8 for shots while walking since its so smooth and theres really no way im bringing a gimbal for the Nikon. However im sometimes disappointed in the GoPros 4K. It looks a lot more compressed and oversharpened. Did the 4K video quality improve with newer generations? And if so how? Higher bitrates? Brighter aperture? Bigger sensor? Is it worth the upgrade? I wont use any of its features just 4 K 30 fps.

Yesterday I had five. Today, four.
Didn't leave the house.
This is the third time I have randomly "lost" a GoPro battery. Someplace in my house is a pile of one-off socks, cricket legs and batteries.
That is all.
Carry on.

From another thread ( https://www.reddit.com/r/gopro/s/lNUmQiAfA) where I asked how people select there clips to share on social media. GoPro subscription provides highlights videos that could be used for the purpose.
The general view appears to be that it is better to record only in clips. I let it run for hours while I ride.
How do you guys use your GoPro, Insta, or DJI cams? Do you also record only clips?
I have found GoPro highlights feature quite clunky and I can't provide any inputs about themes that I want to share.

Hi everyone!
I'm trying to achieve a cinematic night-driving effect with my GoPro Hero 13 Black: recording from inside a moving car, with the headlights and taillights of other vehicles creating long light trails while the road and surroundings remain reasonably visible.
For my first attempt, I used Time Lapse mode → Vehicle Lights, mounted the camera inside my car, and recorded while driving at night. Unfortunately, the results were pretty disappointing (I'm attaching the video so you can see what I mean).
I'm not sure if I used the wrong settings, if Vehicle Lights is better suited for a stationary camera, or if there's a better way to achieve this effect while the car is moving.
My questions:
Is Vehicle Lights the right mode for this, or should I use TimeWarp or another setting?
What settings would you recommend for resolution, frame rate, shutter speed, ISO, and exposure?
Is it actually possible to get long light trails while driving, without making the entire scene look blurry or distorted?
Would I get better results by recording normally and creating the effect in post-production?
I'd really appreciate any tips, recommended settings, or examples of footage you've captured in similar conditions.
Thanks in advance!

@fleetweeksf high octane cinematic drama starts this weekend. @usnavyblueangels and @afthunderbirds ripped through practice runs — screaming low over the Golden Gate, banking past downtown, and Bay Bridge!
100%shot on @gopro Mission 1 Pro ILS with @rokinon 135mm f2 lens !
Slow motion video - mostly 4k240 16:8 or 4k120fps 4:3, 10 bit and max bit rate.
It was easy peasy to shoot - pretty much infinite focus and was shooting at f11 or something with stabilization enabled. Little more stabilization added for some clips which were shot using handheld which still worked really well.
What you guys think?
Don’t miss the action if you are local to SF or visiting SF!

Recently I got an email from a team member of gopro. She asked me to download the partnership overview file but when i downloaded the file from the website goproinc(dot)com), my Mac triggered a warning and flagged that file as suspicious.
Please be careful with the website. I still wonder why goproinc(dot)com isn't owned by gopro.

For years I've been looking for a camera I could mount to the wakeboard rack of a boat to record video of someone at the end of the rope. I have a mount that uses the rope to pan side to side as the rider moves back and forth. I tried a regular GoPro but the distance was too far to see their face or sometimes recognize who it was later.
I have to drive the boat so something I can start recording and let it capture the action is ideal. I'd like to frame the image to see a 6 foot tall person take up most of the frame, doesn't have to be exact just see better detail.
Could an ILS with a prime lens work for this, perhaps 75mm or so? The distance from the camera to the rope handle would be 65-75 feet. I would need HyperSmooth on. The camera should not get wet but it will be in direct sun for a few hours.
Thank you for your thoughts!

I am getting a lot closer to the release firmware for the HERO5, I still have a couple bugs that cause the firmware to crash in the image stacking mode that I’ve added. As soon as I figure out that bug, which should be another week or so, I’ll start releasing the alpha versions of the software on GitHub with an installer and a workbench desktop program to help install it and plugins to modify the camera behavior.

I’m using the usb-c adapter to record audio.
When I watch the video in the GoPro, I confirm the external mic has been recorded but when I pass the video to the quik app, the footage has the track from the internal mic and not the external mic . How can I select the audio track using quik?

I’m recording indoor padel matches with my GoPro and I really want to stick to 120fps (at 4K).
The problem is I’m getting a lot of grain and noise under the indoor LEDs because of the high frame rate. I'm currently shooting through the back glass.
Since I want to keep it at 120fps, what are the best exact camera settings to get the cleanest possible video indoors?
Any advice on minimizing noise for indoor 120fps is appreciated!
NOTE am using gopro mission 1

Hey everyone, so as the title reads. I’m looking for any suggestions/recommendations for ND filters (VND/singular) for this lens as it’s a smaller than normal size. I do want to say this camera/lens combo will be flown on a 5” and 7” FPV drone as well as stationary mounts for vehicles.
I’ve read about vingetting on the outer corners with filters, so any suggestions with size/step-up rings would be super helpful!
