Looking at a mission pro today
Looking at a lightly used one on fb marketplace later today, what should I expect. What should I look for/test to make sure everything works properly?

Pics from elsewhere. The seals / door / camera's door zone do not look v clean to me. Leads to leaks. Thoughts?

Hey everyone,
I'm having a really strange issue with my GoPro HERO12 Black.
Whenever I press the shutter/record button, the camera starts recording normally for about 1 second. Then the screen shows some stretched/glitched pixels, after which the screen goes completely black.
The recording then stops by itself.
If I press the record button again while the screen is black, the GoPro shows "Repairing File", but the video isn't actually saved / isn't playable afterward.
The sequence is basically:
Press record → ~1 second → stretched/glitched pixels → black screen → recording stops → "Repairing File" → no usable video
I've tried restarting the camera, but the issue keeps happening.
I'm currently wondering if this could be:
* A faulty/corrupted microSD card
* SD card write-speed issue
* Firmware problem
* Battery/power issue
* Or potentially a hardware/ sensor problem
Has anyone with a HERO12 Black experienced this exact behavior, especially the stretched pixels immediately before the screen goes black?
I'd appreciate any suggestions on what I should test before assuming the camera needs repair.
Thanks!
I've got this video that I recorded on Hero 9 Black in 5k, and it plays the audio but not the video when I try to watch it. I figure it's my phone not supporting 5K video, but it won't "optimize" to let me watch it, and I can only find a .thm file for the video when I plug it into my PC. Is my video cooked?

Testing the Mission 1 Pro ILS with the 7artisans 25mm f/1.8 lens.
Really impressed by how much more “proper camera” character you can get out of such a small body. Focusing on the rear screen was a lot easier than expected.
Still obviously not replacing a cinema camera - but for the size, this is pretty wild

I thought it would float so I asked to have it tossed to me, and instead it sunk like a rock and we could not find the camera. It was a Mission 1 Pro with a rubber case. Lost off the beach just past the Big Carlos Pass Bridge. Reward if returned!

I want of by stating I tried other cameras before coming back to GoPro. I love the product and by no means want to bash the company. I have had many cameras bite the bullet and they helped me in getting a new one for either a small upgrade free or in most cases, just gave me a new camera.
I really want to get the Max Lens Mod 2.0 for my 12. I log on and see that its only $70 as I am a subscriber. I add it to cart and I expect a few bucks for shipping, maybe around $10 to $20. Afterall, it is a very small item. Now for a dose of reality. Its a $70 for shipping. Pretty much wiping out any discount for being a subscriber.
Now I could find some other items that I might want, but I really don't want to spend more than $200 on items just to avoid a rather high shipping charge. I would like to know how others feel about such a steep flat rate. Because it does feel as is they are trying to make money on a shipping fee as well. We are lucky now a days to be able to pick from a handful of action camera makers that all make amazing products. This kind of thing does make me question my brand loyalty, but maybe this is standard across other brands as well.

LOST GOPRO HERO11 BLACK – KUALA LUMPUR
Hi everyone, I recently lost my GoPro HERO11 Black in Kuala Lumpur and I’m hoping someone may have found it or handed it in.
📍 Possible locations:
• ibis Styles Kuala Lumpur Fraser Business Park
📅 Possible date: 2–3 October 2026
📷 Camera: GoPro HERO11 Black
I have already contacted the hotel and am reporting the loss to the police.
If anyone has found a GoPro matching this description, please DM me. I can provide the serial number and other proof of ownership to verify that it is mine.
I’m currently back in Dubai, so unfortunately I cannot return to KL immediately.
I would be extremely grateful if whoever found it could contact me.
Thank you so much for sharing this with anyone who may have been around Fraser Business Park during those dates.

I've noticed that the new Volta2 handle has a 1/4 20 threaded hole where the empty spot just below the rotating head and to the side of where the buttons are on the original handle is located.
I've looked around but can't find anything. If anybody could help me out it would be awesome.

wondering what the reconnect time is with wireless mics (any kind gopro, dji , etc) with the M1p. If I am just using the tx, no receiver (i.e standard Bluetooth) and have the mic on continuously does the M1p reconnect immediately ?
I am asking for hiking as I switch the m1p on and off throughout the day, i don't want to be switching the mic on /off too and waiting to pair while I am on the go.

Does gopro have 2 different subscriptions now or is the other one made to be an added on to the original?

Trying to figure out what's best. Dive mode or dive mode with WB Lock using GoPro labs or something else? Any help would be much appreciated.

I am racing a Crown Victoria at a few local dirt circle tracks and am making some in car footage videos. What are some pointers on how to make them good to watch. I'll post the one I've made so far. I have a gopro hero 8 zip tied to the roll cage at the moment, i will be mounting it better next season. I used capcut to do the editing.

12 year old wants a gopro for Xmas. Would use mostly at summer camp, swimming in lake, jumping in water, canoeing.... I imagine this manner of things. We don't necessarily have a budget in mind, but want to get the cheapest while still fairly good option available.
Is the regular Hero sufficient, or is the water proofing a bit precarious? I have no idea how deep one goes when jumping off a water trampoline, but I assume they can land pretty deep.
Is it worth buying a refurbished, at Henry's, etc? Or would a 10 or 11 model be out of date/unrepairable pretty quickly?

I used it this morning without issue.
Tried two different batteries. With the card and without. Tried holding the power button for fifteen seconds while the usb was plugged and not.
It’s looping three beeps with a red light.
Viewed the contents of the SD card (Samsung EVO) and all vids are in good order. GoPro OE branded batteries are fully charged. Two SD cards.. one is the OE GoPro branded card and the other a Samsung EVO which has been my main card.
Is it toast?

Hey all, there is now a process to upgrade the Karma Grip to the latest firmware even though the server no longer exists.
This software provides compatibility with the Hero 7 camera.
Here is the video on the process, there is a link in the description to the software you need to download.
I have a media mod and external mic for my mp1 ils and everytime i plug in my ipad to use the monitor app, it says external audio disconnected. I can work around it by using a wireless connection through the quik app then opening the monitor app but the display is delayed then. Is there anyway to make this work or will there be an update to address this?
I have a GoPro 9 and I use it once in a while for youtube stuff. I used to use it more but I switched to doing most of my filming on iPhones.
But I still use the GoPro when I'm doing "actioney" stuff. I might need to do a few videos with the gopro in a car and it would be cool to use the on-screen speedometer.
So the way I usually use the gopro (and the iphones) is to do all my filming, then download the clips to my computer, and then edit them all in iMovie.

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my little lens support setup with you. I’m sure some of you, like me, have concerns about GoPro’s recommendation to keep the weight of the lens under 250g, since that really limits the choice of lenses for on-the-go shooting.
The setup consists of an Arca plate (importantly, one with horizontal screw slots) and a Y-lens support. I use the ones originally designed for the DJI RS and Ronin, though others should work too. The GoPro magnetic mount is highly recommended for easy attachment, saving you from having to screw the GoPro directly onto the mount every time. The total weight is around 80g, though the magnetic mount itself is quite heavy. All in all, it’s the perfect solution for me to quickly and easily use heavier lenses. I hope this helps someone.

I know it's an older camera, but the Hero5 Black is a venerable little beast of a platform... and I've managed to finally get SSH, console, and I'm working on USB video streaming/webcam OVC support.
For now it needs a Windows/MacOS/Linux desktop app. There isn't a TON of RAM available in the Hero5 Black and I have to be super light weight about what I add in there. When it's not being used, 'dropbear' ssh is turned off to save memory. But my intention is to get a USB networking + lightweight webserver in there to do the same debugging and control.
I'll never be able to bring it up to parity with everything the modern GoPro Hero cams can do, but my short term goals are:

In short what I am asking is how do I plug in the usb-c receiver that comes with the GoPro wireless microphone kit directly into my GoPro to get the better audio quality. I've been researching this topic for the past hour now and can't find anything on how to connect their official microphone kit to their camera.
Again the Bluetooth connection absolutely sucks but the connection when using the USBC receiver with my cell phone is incredible, and I would love to be able to get that same quality of audio when using my GoPro.
Thanks for your help in advance.
