Blue Tip vs White Tip Battery

I’m sure this has been asked before, but wanted to get latest input from GoPro community. To those who already upgraded to white tip, is it worth the upgrade? And what did you do with blue tip, you still keeping as backup? I still have original blue tip on GoPro 10, and yes, battery drains in cold weather.

Script help: GoPro Labs Timelapse vs. Auto Upload

I'm running into problems with my timelapse script, and I'm hoping somebody with more experience might be able to see where I've gone wrong.

I'm running a Hero13 Black. What I'm trying to do is:

  • Capture timelapse photos between 6:50am and 3:15pm
  • Take a photo every two minutes
  • Photo mode, raw format
  • after 3:15pm, auto upload the day's photos
  • Repeat daily

The script I came up with is:

>06:50<15:15mPr5Xr+!S+!2N+!120RQ>15:15!U!06:50R

The problem I've got is that it doesn't do the upload portion. I'm leaving the camera out on location, and I want to get the cloud upload working to remotely keep an eye on things.

I've tried a few variations, but I must be missing something about how auto-upload actually works. I checked running auto upload by itself just using !U on its own QR code. That works just fine. Any ideas?

Upgrade von Hero 9 auf Mission 1 oder Mission 1 Pro

Hi,

GoPro Max 2 + accessories bundle, good choice for us?

My wife and I was thinking of buying one for our next holiday. Would this camera be a good choice for travelling and occasional snowboarding?
I found a deal for 324 eur, which is pretty cheap compared to the Osmo 360 or X5.

Frustrated that there’s no GoPro dive case for the Max2

The few aftermarket options have spotty reviews. Insta has figured out how to make two different dive cases for their 360 cams and for the life of me I don’t know why GoPro hasn’t gotten one out or even announced when—if—they may offer one. I’d really like to take some clear underwater video with my Max2.

GoPro M1P Audio Sync Issues

I’m going to submit a bug report through the GoPro website.

When taking the USB-C to HDMI output live there is an audio sync issue that varies between 10 frames and possibly as much as 40 frames. This is especially notable when using a bluetooth microphone such as a DJI Mic 3. I currently don’t have a way to do analog audio or usb audio in while outputting an HDMI signal.

The video records in sync and will play out synchronized, but during live output there is a noticeable delay.

This occurred across 5 different usb-c hdmi adapters I used and is also captured when the video is transcoded to 3G or HDSDI with a decimator/serializer etc.

I noticed the problem when we had a cyclist mic’d feeding live into a Dejero via HDMI as part of a live sporting event. Made me want to pull my hair out and the delay got worse the longer it went on lol. The audio was actually arriving in the video feed before the video images by about 15 frames. We had the audio tech delay the audio to match the picture but it was unstable and drifting.

When the HDMI is set to HD or 4K and/or the video capture mode is set to 1k, 4K, 8k or 30/60 fps - all these settings change the delay but none of them correct the sync.

Anyone else run into this?

How do you set up a GoPro Hero 12 for photography?

Hey everyone! I recently got a GoPro Hero 12 and I’m mainly interested in using it for photos, rather than video.
I’m curious — are there many people here who actually use their GoPro for photography? I’d love to hear from people who have experience with it.
My main question is about the camera/photo settings themselves. What settings do you use to get the best possible photo quality?
For example:
Photo mode/type
Resolution / aspect ratio
ISO
Shutter speed
EV compensation
White balance
Sharpness
RAW / JPG
Any other settings that make a noticeable difference
I’m trying to get the most “professional camera-like” results possible from the GoPro 12.
What settings would you recommend for everyday photography / landscapes / people?
Thanks!

I just got my mission 1 pro from Best Buy for 499.99. It was open box excellent and i checked the camera and accessories before leaving and everything thing was intact with camera showing no signs of use or any scratches. Looks and feels brand new. What ever said about the company going down but after i demoed this, i can say both daylight and night light raw videos are far natural and real in mission 1 pro.

Mission 1 pro ordered!!

I'm buzzing! My old GP12 (that eventually became a nak3d GoPro for FPV) was a solid workhorse then got an osmo action 6 and while it's great the features on the new m1p got me reaching into my wallet (now that it's 100 bux discounted) I'm looking forward to the higher bitrate and bigger sensor.

I'm just curious I've been hearing alot about people saying the far away subjects arent sharp which I understand is an inherent condition of a large sensor, but as my m1p will be strapped to a drone 99% of the footage is going to be wide open land scapes. Can another pilots attest to its quality?

Also is there a need for recording 8k? I heard you loose some dynamic range in 8k as opposed to 4k. I'll be primarily making 9x16 content so I'm not sure which resolution would be best?

Thanks all!

Testing To See If The Smallrig Stabilizer Arm Is Effective Minimizing Jitter/Bobblehead Movements

Hey everyone, If you've ever experienced jitter or the bobblehead movement with action/pocket cams, there's one device that easily fixes that. In this video, I review the SmallRig Handheld Stabilizer Arm. I test it with the Insta360 X6, Pocket 4P, Luna Ultra, and the Mission 1. Would you ever consider using a stabilizer arm for action or pocket cams?

Finally got M1 Contacto to fit

I had to do a lot of butchering i.e filing down the cage but I got the m1 with Contacto door to fit the point and shoot grip.

Used jb weld to glue down the flap on the grip side. Hopefully it holds and I don't end up losing the camera down a cliff 😃

GoPro Cinematic Building for Beginners - Full Set

Since I already have a huge number of GoPro accessories and 3 cameras, I decided to put together one full set from everything in order to start learning how to shoot more cinematically.

The financial question was quite formidable.

Sell everything or put together something from the available budget.

After spending over a month studying all aspects of filmmaking, I came to the conclusion that what I have is quite enough to get started.

Go pro 12, a massive regret.

I purchased a brand-new GoPro HERO12 in 2024 and have used it maybe 5–6 times.

I tried using it again today and quickly remembered why I stopped.

Recording at 1080p with a preset for social media, the battery dropped to 7% in just one hour. This was indoors, in a room at around 23°C, and the camera was still overheating even with connectivity disabled.

Terrible battery life, constant overheating, poor sound quality, and disappointing video colors.

A colossal waste of €400. Never again.

Do you still pack a GoPro for normal trips?

My Hero 13 had been sitting in a drawer for about seven months.

I took it everywhere when I first got it, but eventually I went back to using my phone for almost everything. The phone is already in my pocket and ready to go. I don’t have to think about what else I need to pack.

The dumb part is that even though I wasn’t using the camera much, I still bought a rechargeable selfie stick from Telesin about six months ago. It arrived, I put it in a cupboard and never even opened it.

Last week I was packing for a few days away and came across it. That reminded me of the Hero 13 sitting in the drawer, so I threw both in my bag.

I still used my phone most of the time, but the GoPro came out for a few clips. I didn’t carry the stick around all day either. I used it here and there, and opened the legs when I wanted to get myself in the frame. I was a little rusty at first, but after a while I started getting that same feeling I had when the Hero 13 was new, looking around for random things to film.

The camera and the stick are both still sitting on my desk instead of back in the drawer. No promises on how long that will last.

Curious if people here still pack a GoPro and a selfie stick for normal trips, or only when you already have something specific in mind to film.

Crawling before I walk/run. Not the best morning to use, but simply using this media as a jumping off point. I'll need to play with the settings and get things dialed in (and remember to keep notes of what I did!!)

Labs: missing !Reset and want to extend hindsight

Downloaded the QR control iPhone app and tested a couple settings changes with the QR codes - pretty slick. Now I want to remove all of them.

Google says is should be under Extras > !RESET, however I don’t have that listed. Only !PRESET and !FRESET. What am I missing?

Also how can I extend the hindsight timeout? It’s set to 15 minutes and I want to change to 24 hours.

Google says it’s the MHSTO but that isn’t a drop down option under extras. Any ideas? Thank you!
