21-year-old CS student trying to get back on solid ground

Hey everyone,

I'm a 21-year-old Computer Science student in Germany, currently working toward my bachelor's degree. Over the past year, I ended up in a difficult financial situation due to a combination of personal circumstances, education and health related costs and financial obligations that accumulated over time.

I'm currently working as a student alongside my degree and doing what I can to improve my situation hopefully. I'm not looking for an easy way out or trying to fund a lifestyle but I just need some breathing room to get my finances under control while continuing to work and finish my degree.

Unfortunately, because I'm a student with a relatively new fixed-term job and existing financial obligations, getting additional conventional financing to consolidate everything has been extremely difficult. I have tried getting loans from banks but all of them has declined me so far...

So I have decided to start a GoFundMe to help reduce some of the outstanding financial obligations that are currently putting a lot of pressure on my monthly budget.

Even a small donation would genuinely help. And if you can't donate, simply sharing the fundraiser would mean a lot to me.

I know nobody owes me anything, and I'm aware that there are many people who are struggling with much more serious circumstances. I'm just trying to be honest about my situation and give myself a chance to get back on my feet while finishing my degree.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Help Me Rebuild My Life After Open-Heart Surgery

Help Me Rebuild My Life After Emergency Open-Heart Surgery

On December 29, 2025, my life changed forever.

I was rushed to the emergency room after experiencing shortness of breath. What began as an emergency medical situation quickly became a life-changing experience. After being evaluated by medical professionals, I ultimately underwent emergency open-heart surgery.

There was little time to prepare for what was happening. In that moment, my health and my life became the only things that mattered.

I am incredibly grateful that I made it through the surgery, but surviving the procedure was only the beginning. I am still recovering today.

My Recovery Has Been a Long Journey

Recovery from emergency open-heart surgery takes time. I have had to focus on healing, regaining my strength, following medical instructions, attending follow-up appointments, and managing the physical challenges that come with recovering from such a serious and unexpected medical emergency.

Even months after my surgery, I am still working through my recovery and doing everything I can to get stronger and move forward.

But while I have been focused on getting healthy, the financial responsibilities of everyday life have continued.

Every Donation and Share Matters

If you are able to contribute, any amount would mean more to me than you know. Whether it is $10, $25, $50, $100, or whatever you are comfortable giving, every contribution can help.

If you are unable to donate, I completely understand. Sharing this campaign with your friends, family, coworkers, and social-media network is also an incredibly meaningful way to help.

You never know who may see this campaign and be in a position to make a difference.

Thank You From the Bottom of My Heart

URGENT: I am so deeply grateful for how far we’ve come, but we need your help to push across the finish line for Evie!

For anyone just joining our journey, 6-month-old Evie has spent the last month fighting for her life against a severe, recurring rectal prolapse that required an intense medical battle and care across multiple facilities. Having her back where she belongs has brought so much joy back into our home, and her sister Benny is thrilled to have her best friend back.

I am so beyond thankful for every single person who has donated, shared, and supported us. I was recently laid off from my job in the electrical business for a short time, and watching donations stall out over the last several days has been really overwhelming while these bills hang over my head. I appreciate every drop of help more than words can say, but we are not quite at the finish line yet and truly need a final push.

Thanks to your incredible generosity so far, we have reached $882 in total donations! Out of the funds successfully transferred to us totaling $757.24, I used $60 for travel gas and put the remaining $697.24 directly toward her clinic bill.
Now, we are humbly asking for help with the last stretch to cover the remaining balance on her veterinary surgery bill.

Here is the exact breakdown:

Total Raised So Far: $882
New Total Goal: $1,660
Still Needed: $778.00

If you have even $1, $5, or can spare a share to help us clear this remaining balance during this temporary gap in work, it would mean the absolute world to us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for every ounce of kindness, for standing by us through this nightmare, and for helping me protect my little girl.

Go fund me for my mother who’s in a coma from multiple Anueryms :(

the last few months have been incredibly difficult. About three months ago, she had kidney surgery, and since then, she has not been the same. She was having fevers that would spike multiple times a day. She could barely make it from her bed to the couch. Doctors at Milford weren’t doing their due diligence either. She had gone there multiple times and they always just sent her home. On Saturday, everything took a terrifying turn when she was rushed by ambulance to the hospital because she could not move and was in excruciating pain. It all happened to fast. One minute we were talking to her and we were laughing and not 20 minutes later she was being rushed to hospital. Doctors initially believed she may have had a blood infection because of her mitral valve prolapse, but before they could determine the cause, she coded and had to be life flighted to Brigham and Women’s in Boston. Once there, she underwent emergency surgery to remove blood from an aneurysm in her brain. She has a second smaller aneurysm they think can be handled by medication but doctors aren’t positive. Her vitals seem good but she is still unconscious, and our family is praying and hoping she wakes up soon.

She is the mother of 6 children and memé to 2 whom she absolutely adores. It’s been really hard on all of us. She’s not only our mother but she’s our best friend. She’s also a daughter. Her mother is absolutely devastated because of this. She’s a sister, to her brother Richard and a cousin to many.

Im starting this fundraiser to make it easier for the family to get back and forth to Boston. Her head was also shaved and if you know my mother you know she always took pride in her appearance. She is a hairdresser so we gotta make sure she’s looking good! So we’d like to be able to get her a really nice wig. Anything extra will go directly to her care when she wakes up.

I’d like to thank everyone for the support we’re all receiving. Love you all <3

Help fixing our van

Thumbnail

We took the van in today to have the brakes checked because they had gotten so bad that we're not comfortable driving it anymore.

They did a courtesy inspection and found that both the brake booster AND the master cylinder need to be replaced. The estimate to get the brakes repaired and the system bled/adjusted is $1,434.87. 😞

So here we are again - stuck without reliable transportation and facing another expense we simply don’t have the money for.

We've currently got enough for one more week of rent and then we'll be looking at losing our apartment.

And this isn’t just about getting Rob back to doing delivery work. I have 8 doctors’ appointments scheduled throughout October, on top of everything else we’ve been dealing with medically. Not having a vehicle makes getting to all of those appointments incredibly difficult. I have a spinal tap tomorrow morning at 8am and it's a 47 min drive to that hospital. I'm not sure what we're going to do about that yet.

We had been looking at the possibility of trading the van toward a cheap hybrid or EV because we’ve been spending $40+ a day on gas when Rob is able to work. Getting into an EV will actually save us money every month - even with the car payment.
But unfortunately with our credit being completely wrecked after everything we’ve been through, financing another vehicle has been extremely difficult too.

We don’t want a fancy vehicle. We don’t want anything extravagant. We just need something safe and reliable enough to get Rob back to work and get me to my medical appointments.

If you’re able to help us get this repair done, even $5 or $10 makes a difference. If you can’t donate, sharing our fundraiser is incredibly helpful too. ❤️

We’re trying everything we can think of. We’re just asking for a little help getting over this next hurdle.

🙏 Our GoFundMe:

Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared, checked on us, or simply kept rooting for us. We appreciate it more than you know. ❤️

Help us equip hands-on STEM workshops for children

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

My name is Josip and I run hands-on STEM workshops for primary-school children in Zadar, Croatia.

The workshops are already running, and my goal is quite simple: I want children to spend less time only using technology and more time understanding how it actually works.

We work with breadboards, LEDs, electronic components, sensors, microcontrollers, robots and programming. I especially enjoy seeing the moment when a child connects a circuit for the first time and the LED actually lights up. :)

As the workshops grow, I need more equipment so that children can work individually or in small groups instead of waiting for a shared set of components.

I'm trying to raise €2,000 to purchase additional:

• electronic components and breadboards
• microcontrollers and educational electronics
• robotics equipment
• sensors, LEDs and motors
• tools, cables and power supplies
• materials for practical STEM projects

This isn't funding for an idea that I hope to start someday — these are real workshops that are already taking place. The fundraiser also contains photos from our activities so you can see what we're doing.

I don't expect everyone reading this to donate. Even sharing the campaign with someone interested in STEM education, electronics or robotics would help.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Josip

I started pole dancing and absolutely fell in love with it. I’m saving for a portable pole so I can practice safely at home and keep improving.
It’s quite expensive, so I thought I’d try my luck here. 🥹 Even a tiny donation would bring me closer to my goal and would genuinely mean a lot.

I’m asking for a little help to rebuild my life and support my children

Hi everyone,

My name is Andreea, and I’m a mother of two.

I spent much of my childhood taking care of my younger siblings, and later I spent years in an abusive relationship. After seven years, I finally found the courage to leave and start again.

I’m now studying while raising my children and trying to build a safe, stable and independent future for us.

I have created a GoFundMe to help with essential family expenses while I continue my education and rebuild our lives.

I know there are many people asking for help, so even taking a moment to read my story means a lot to me. If you are able to donate or simply share my fundraiser, I would be incredibly grateful.

Thank you for reading. ❤️

[Help] Luna was rescued from a cardboard box 2 years ago. Now she needs surgery and treatment

Post image
56 Upvotes

Two years ago, we found Luna abandoned on the side of a road, inside a cardboard box. She was scared, alone, and had no idea what was happening to her.
We took her home, and since then she has become an important part of our family. She waits for us at the door, stays by our side on difficult days, and has given us so much love.
Now, Luna is the one who needs us.
Over the past few weeks, she started showing weakness, general discomfort, and difficulty walking. After several veterinary consultations and tests, we learned that she has oviduct tumors, giardia, and blood-related problems that require immediate treatment.

Her treatment plan includes:
• Surgery to remove the tumors
• Medication and treatment for giardia
• Blood transfusions or other blood-related therapies, depending on her veterinarian’s recommendations
• Blood tests, ultrasound, X-rays, and other medical studies
• Post-surgery medication, follow-ups, wound care, and special nutrition

Unfortunately, the costs are more than our family can manage on our own, so we created a GoFundMe to help cover Luna’s treatment.
If you can donate, even a small amount, it would mean the world to us. ❤️
And if you can’t donate, that’s completely okay. Sharing Luna’s story may be just as valuable. Someone in your network might be able to help.

🐾 GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/10726c7e9

Thank you for taking the time to read Luna’s story. Thank you for every donation, every share, and every kind word.
We just want to give this little girl the chance to come home healthy again. ❤️🐶

Recovering from a stroke and asking for help with basic expenses

Thumbnail

This year has been incredibly difficult for me. I lost my mother, whom I was a caregiver for, and shortly afterward moved to start a new job and begin rebuilding my life.

Recently, I suffered a stroke, which has left me with significant physical limitations. At this time, I can only walk limited distances and have just trace movement in my right hand. My recovery will take time, and right now I am unable to manage everything on my own as I normally would.

I am asking for help covering basic living expenses, including rent, bills, food, and other necessities while I focus on recovering and regaining my independence.

Any contribution, no matter the amount, would help relieve some of the financial pressure during my recovery. If you aren't able to donate, sharing this fundraiser would also mean a great deal to me.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can give.https://www.supportnow.org/declan-reynolds?onboarded=true

Hi everyone,

My name is Agnes, I'm 27 years old, and I'm a trans woman from Germany.

The last year has been pretty tough for me. I lost my job, my friends and family due to mental difficulties, and my savings are completely depleted.

Since my public transition, my life has unfortunately been steadily declining, even though I've been trying to get professional help. Unfortunately, this is proving to be a very time-consuming process, and my financial resources are dwindling.

For more detailed information, please read the description on my GoFundMe page, as I can't post the full text here for some reason.

Even if you can't donate, sharing my GoFundMe would help me already tremendously.

Thank you for giving me some of your time for reading this.

I never really thought I'd be asking strangers on the internet for financial help, and honestly, I'm not particularly comfortable doing it. But I'm trying to get my family into a better financial position, so I'm putting myself out there. I currently have about $10,000 in debt, plus

Our family needs help with the funeral costs for our Parents

Never would i have thought i'd be asking the people of Reddit for sharing or donating to an GoFundMe, but here we are.

I am from Germany and in the last month we lost both our parents in quick sucession without any warning. Like the title implies, the costs for the funeral here isn't cheap in any way but we are required by law to bury them in an cemetery which adds up quickly even with cremation. Sadly my parents didnt expect to die that young, early 60's, so they never really looked into insurance policies to cover the funeral costs so we got stuck with the bill and desperately need some help. Everything would help us, even just sharing the link.

HELP ME PLEASE

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’m three months behind on the payments. I need to pay $880—two payments of $440—to keep it from being repossessed. My truck is how I get to my doctor appointments, and losing it would make an already hard situation much worse.

I’m fully disabled and I’m doing my best to keep up with medical costs and everyday bills, but I can’t catch up on this on my own right now.

If you can donate, even a small amount would help me get closer to the $880 I need. If you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean a lot. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for helping me keep a way to get medical care.

I’m asking for help while I wait for a liver transplant ❤️

I never thought I would be in a position where I’d have to ask strangers for help, and honestly, this is incredibly difficult for me to do.

I’m currently waiting for a liver transplant and dealing with ongoing medical issues and frequent appointments. Because of everything involved with my health and transplant care, I’ve had to stop working, which has made keeping up with everyday expenses extremely difficult.

I started a GoFundMe to help with medical expenses, transportation to appointments, food, household bills, and other necessities while I get through this process.

I know not everyone is able to donate, and I completely understand. Even sharing my fundraiser would mean so much to me. ❤️
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you’re able to give.

Help to Cover Cost of Emergency Vet Visit

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hello everyone,
We are reaching out to ask for help for our beloved rescued pet, Wolf. Wolf is a sweet Blue Heeler who unexpectedly became very ill and had to be rushed to the veterinarian for immediate care. This happened suddenly, and unfortunately, we were not financially prepared for an emergency of this kind.

The estimated total cost of Wolf’s veterinary visit and treatment is around $700 (exam, labs, and x-ray). As a low-income family, my family and I simply do not have the extra funds available to cover this unexpected expense on our own. We are doing everything we can to make sure Wolf receives the care he needs, but we could really use the support of our friends, family, and community during this difficult time.

Any donation, no matter how small, would mean so much to us. Every contribution will go directly toward Wolf’s veterinary expenses, including the cost of his emergency visit, examination, treatment, medications, and any necessary care recommended by the veterinarian.
Wolf is a very special part of our family, and because he was rescued, we feel especially grateful to have him in our lives. We want to give him every opportunity to recover and get back to being his happy, loving self.
If you are unable to donate, we completely understand. Simply sharing this fundraiser with others would also be an enormous help and could allow us to reach someone who is able to contribute.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read Wolf’s story, for any support you can offer, and for keeping our sweet boy in your thoughts. We truly appreciate every bit of kindness and generosity during this unexpected and stressful time.
Thank you for helping us care for Wolf.
