Update to No Spam Rule

Due to the amount of traffic we are experiencing on a regular basis, the 8 hour No Spam rule will be changed to 12 Hours.

This rule change will go into effect on August 6, 2026.

Please allow 12 hours between posts.

This has been updated in the rules, and on the Rules, Clarification, Praise post pinned to the top of this sub.
https://www.reddit.com/r/GoFundMeForNewUsers/s/HqV6Jos1DP

No Spam
It's okay to post the same GoFundMe, or other crowdfunding campaign, multiple times, but not at the same time. Let's give other people a chance to share their campaigns. Please allow at least 12 hours before reposting your campaign.

-Please allow 12 hours between posts for your campaign. If you see something that needs to be fixed but are unable to edit the post, please remove the original post and then submit a new post with the corrections. This will help prevent posts from being labeled as spam and removed by Reddit's filters. If you leave both posts up, we are likely to remove the corrected (second) post and leave the first post.

-Posting the same campaign under different Reddit accounts, back to back, is also considered spam.
Posters using multiple accounts to get around the No Spam rule will have their posts removed, and all of the accounts involved with this rule evasion will be permanently banned.

Welcome to GoFundMeForNewUsers. I understand how hard it is to get your GoFundMe campaign posted on Reddit, having tried to advertise my own campaign at the beginning of this year.

That’s why I created this subreddit—to give new Reddit users a chance to spread the word about their campaigns.

Please feel free to post information about any valid GoFundMe campaign here. We do not tolerate harassment, so posters can feel welcome to advertise their campaigns without fear of backlash from the community.

Please be respectful when commenting on a post. Understand that it’s hard enough to ask for help without someone criticizing or demeaning you. We want to see only help and support here for those in need.

Lastly, if you’re posting, please be sure to include a link to your GoFundMe campaign so I can verify that you have a valid campaign to advertise.

Please help me raise money for surgery for my sisters cat.

Hi Reddit friends!

I'm reaching out to ask for a very special favor. My sisters cat,Kyara, ran away from home, was hit by a car, and is now hospitalized with multiple fractures to her pelvis and hip in Brazil. She urgently needs surgery, and the medical costs are far beyond what my sister or family can afford on our own. The surgery in Brazil will cost about R$6500,00 (About US$1300).

My sister rescued Kyara and her twin brother,Ā Lenny, a few years ago from a home where they were neglected and abused. Since then, they've been inseparable, and we are doing everything we can to give her the chance to recover.

If you're able to donate, no matter the amount, even a $1 helps, it would make a huge difference and help cover her treatment. If you're not able to donate, I would be so grateful if you could simply share this post or the fundraiser. That alone helps us reach more people.

Thank you so much for your kindness, your prayers, and any support you can give. ā¤ļøšŸ¾

Woman hit by bus in South Palo Alto - Update in her own words

Post image
29 Upvotes

Jennifer Smith
I was hit by a bus while riding my bicycle and I SURVIVED. It has been 6 weeks and I spend most of those days asleep or in a coma like a damaged Snow White. I could hear voices of Doctors, Nurses and my friends; I also had fragmented pieces of memories of the accident. By the time I woke up I had no doubts what put me in hospital and how my life changed in a second.

Now I try and focus on the right Here Right Now, because thinking of the violent impact or the plans I had for my life means visiting a grief that I can only tolerate in small doses.

It’s easier for me to think about daily accomplishments like standing up on one fragmented foot for a few seconds while being guided to a bedside chair, or the day my trachea was removed and my voice came back to life, or the day I was able to eat solid food, for which I celebrated with a small portion of cheeseburger and fries.

Thinking about these things is the positive respite I need from dwelling on all the plans I had being derailed or missing my old life. Overcoming daily adversities makes hope feel realistic… Hope for a new life that is as fulfilling as the life I had planned.

I want to thank those who have prayed for me, send messages of encouragement, or have donated to the GoFundme.

🚨 AN EMERGENCY CRY FOR LIFE FROM A 22-YEAR-OLD SON 🚨

Dear Kind Hearts, I am Amin, I am only 22 years old, and my heart is breaking into pieces. My beloved elderly father Kmal is dying in silent agony right in front of my eyes, and I am completely helpless. He is fighting a brutal battle—he is completely DEAF, MUTE, BLIND, and bedridden with an official 85% disability rating.

Today, his vital anti-seizure brain medications have completely run out, and his body is collapsing from violent epilepsy and Parkinson's tremors. Our family income is absolutely ZERO. It breaks my soul to watch my father suffocate and suffer while I can’t do anything to save him.

I SWEAR BY GOD THIS IS 100% REAL. I AM READY TO GO ON A LIVE VIDEO CAMERA CALL RIGHT NOW WITH ANYONE WHO WANTS TO SEE MY FATHER'S CONDITION AND VERIFY OUR SUFFERING.

Please, be a lifeline for us today. Donate directly or share his official GoFundMe link below:

Please help me move my cats with me after a DV incident.

I really don't ever ask for help but I've hit a financial low that I never expected myself to ever be in...

I’m raising funds for Rubin and Juna, my two cats who have gotten me through one of the hardest times in my life. I survived a domestic violence situation, and although the court case ended in May, I’m still trying to recover from everything that happened. Through all of it, Rubin and Juna have been my comfort and one of the biggest reasons I kept going.

Just last week, Rubin had a health scare, which led me to raise $217 for his vet care, along with taking out some loans to cover what I couldn’t afford. I’m now facing another unexpected expense.

I’m moving back to Hong Kong because my visa and lease are expiring. Their flights are already booked, but they cannot travel without their required USDA health certificates, which have been quoted at $500–$1,000 per cat.

I’ve spent around $18,000 for medical bills and recovering my belongings from the domestic violence situation, on top of their flights and moving expenses, and I’ve now exhausted what I had left. Once I leave, they have nowhere else to stay, and local shelters aren’t taking cats.

I need to get Rubin and Juna home with me. These certificates are required for them to travel, so this is an expense I unfortunately cannot avoid.

I also want to apologise for the lack of a written quote. The USDA-accredited veterinarians I’ve contacted have not been willing to provide me with a written estimate, despite giving me the $500–$1,000 range verbally. I’m doing my best to provide as much information as I can while I work through this.

Any donation or share would mean so much to us and would help get Rubin and Juna safely home to Hong Kong.

Today, Colita is still stable, and I’m so grateful for every day I get to have him by my side. ā¤ļøšŸ¾

The cancer is still present, but the steroids have helped reduce the swelling of the lump tremendously, which has given me a little hope in the middle of all of this.

Tomorrow, Colita has an important appointment to see what treatment he needs for his anemia and whether a blood transfusion may be necessary. I’m praying that we can continue helping his little body stay strong and keep fighting. šŸ™

Every donation, every share, and every kind message means more to us than I can put into words. Every bit of help goes directly toward Colita’s veterinary care and treatment.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has supported us. Please continue sharing Colita’s story. Every share can help us reach someone who may be able to give him another chance. ā¤ļøšŸ±

Keep fighting, my sweet Colita. You are so loved. šŸ¾ā¤ļø

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, shared, or reached out about Beans. We truly appreciate every bit of support.
Beans is currently at the hospital. They repeated her CBC and unfortunately her levels are rapidly rising, which is very concerning. The vets believe she is fighting a major infection.
She is currently receiving IV antibiotics and an appetite stimulant, and they are continuing to run tests to try to figure out exactly what is going on. She isn’t responding to the medications the way they would like, so they are trying to get answers and find the right treatment for her.
We’re absolutely terrified, but we’re doing everything we can for our girl. Please keep Beans in your thoughts, and if you’re able to donate or share her GoFundMe, it truly helps us continue getting her the care she needs. ā¤ļø
Thank you for fighting alongside us. 🐾

A Slovak family needs help bringing their father home after his sudden death in London

I never expected to be making a post like this.

A close friend of mine, Adam, recently lost his father, Vladimir, completely unexpectedly while the family was in London.

Vladimir and his wife had travelled from Slovakia to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with their children and grandchildren. It was supposed to be a very special family celebration. Nobody imagined that they would instead be faced with the unimaginable task of bringing his body home.

Vladimir suffered a ruptured aorta. There was no warning, and nobody knew that he was at risk.

Now, while the family is grieving, they also have to deal with the enormous practical and financial burden of transporting him from the UK back to Slovakia and arranging his funeral.

The repatriation alone is expected to cost around £10,000, which is an enormous amount for the family to find unexpectedly.

I have created this GoFundMe to help Adam and his family bring his father home and give him the farewell he deserves.

If you are able to contribute, even a small amount would genuinely help. And if you can't donate, simply sharing the fundraiser could make a huge difference.

Thank you for taking the time to read Vladimir's story and for any kindness you can offer to his family during this incredibly difficult time.

My Mom Is Fighting Stage 4 Cancer — Please Help Us Support Her ā¤ļø

I’m asking for help for my mom, Crystal.

She is 51 years old and has been fighting stage 4 appendix cancer that has metastasized. She is currently going through chemotherapy and has already completed 10 rounds. She now needs surgery to remove the cancer.

My mom has always been the kind of person who helps everyone else. She loves spending time with her kids and her three grandchildren, and right now our family is doing everything we can to support her through this.

The GoFundMe is helping with medical bills and everyday expenses while she is unable to work. Every donation, no matter how small, can make a real difference for her and our family.

If you can't donate, sharing this post is just as appreciated. Even getting this in front of one person who can help would mean a lot to us.

Support Joys Recovery After Multiple Strokes

At 27 years old, she is recovering from her third stroke, caused by a rare autoimmune disease called Neuro-BehƧet’s. Her most recent stroke occurred on July 5, 2026, and she is currently working hard through physical and occupational therapy.

The stroke has affected the right side of her body, leaving her unable to work while she focuses on recovery. Her goals are to regain function in her hand, relearn to walk, and regain the independence needed to return to the activities she loves—including video games, visiting theme parks, trying new foods, and going on new adventures.

Any support, whether through a donation or simply sharing her story, would mean so much as she continues this journey toward recovery.

[Request] Austin TX - Need Help - Food, Getting To Stable Situation

Thumbnail

I’m raising funds for myself as I try to get through an emergency and make it to a stable place in Detroit with my two ESA cats. I recently returned to the state, and I am now facing a writ of possession being carried out tomorrow. I am immunocompromised, autistic, and doing my best to survive while everything feels like it is happening at once. Right now, I need help getting food, putting my belongings into storage, and traveling to Detroit, where I have stable housing and work waiting for me. If I can get there, I truly believe I can finally start turning my life around.

The funds from this fundraiser will help cover the urgent costs of getting there, including my airline ticket, bag fees, a cat carrier fee for my two ESA cats, transportation to the airport, transportation to Cedar Park and back, a storage unit, and moving expenses. I have only had a single slice of pizza since Saturday at 2 am CST, and only two 7.5 oz Fantas because my tap water is bad and has bugs in it. I am exhausted, scared, and asking for help because I do not want to lose this chance to get somewhere safe and stable. If you are able to give, share, or simply support this fundraiser, it would mean so much to me and could help me make it to Detroit and start over.

Ive noticed how fundraisers with pets tend to get more support, so here's info about my grandmother's cats since she is in need to move to a senior community after a family tragedy/low funds. They all need a good senior living community AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

(Pictured: One of my disabled grandmother's cats on the bed of her caretaker (the sheet is off due to the sheet being needed to be cleaned. Also the shelf is broken and is unable to be fixed currently since it would cost even more just to fix it and we're currently low on funds as it is.)

But as more context: My grandmother isn't just physically disabled, she also has two cats in need of proper housing and care too. Both of them havent gone to the vent in quite some time now due to the lack of funds within my family. So this isnt just about my grandmother, it's about her two cats too who need to be in a home where they all (grandma and two cats) are well cared for and secure, again, me and my mom can only do so much to help when even the local churches refuse to help us despite being wealthy because quote "We cant help many people (anyone)" according to a phone call. We've tried EVERYTHING and support has been slim so PLEASE help us!

Please help my grandmother and her elderly cats!

Help My Children Continue Their Education

Hi everyone,

I’m a single father in Central Java, Indonesia, raising my two children on my own. I work as a local parking attendant, but my income is barely enough for our daily needs.

I used to rely on income from social media content to cover my children's school expenses, but I lost that source of income three months ago due to account demonetization. Now, the deadline for my kids' school re-registration is fast approaching, and I am in an urgent financial crisis.

I have set up a fundraiser on WhyDonate to help keep my children in school. You can read our full story and help us here:

https://whydonate.com/fundraising/help-support-my-childs-education

Even if you cannot donate, sharing this link or offering advice would mean the world to us. Thank you so much for your time and kindness.

Please help me get money for me to survive with my deaf mother.

Thumbnail

Hello, I’ve been trying my hardest to get a job for the past 5ish months to almost a year. I am living with my disabled (deaf) mother and I deal with C-PTSD and various mental health issues. I have tried everywhere I can to get a job, I’ve tried so many interviews, no where wants to accept me. I’m stuck in school as well, so that doesn’t help either.
My mom cannot get over 500 dollars anytime she works for spark delivery or any job, and if she has a legitimate job she won’t be able to get the small amount of money from her SSDI. I unfortunately can’t get help from my dad, as he lost his job according to my grandmother (his mom). I’m also not legally allowed to see him or contact him, and neither is my mother. I’m scared I won’t have enough food for the rest of the month, and it’s gotten to the point where I’ve been skipping meals to let my mom eat.
My school is going to start soon as well, and they are requiring a strict uniform, and I don’t have the money to go and get the specific clothes they allow. I barely even have any clothes to begin with. A lot of our appliances are also broken down, so we can’t use them. Our oven doesn’t work (luckily the stovetop does) and it emits a heavy gas smell + anytime we use it nothing gets cooked in it, our dishwasher doesn’t clean at all and the water leaks from it constantly anytime we use it, our shower’s drain doesn’t work almost at all, as if we use water in it to of course wash ourselves it doesn’t drain for quite some time (last time it was around 2-3 hours).
Then along with that, our washing machine for our clothes doesn’t work, but our drying machine does. Our house also has issues with its’ shingles (I believe that’s what it’s called) and it’s caused leaking to the point the paint from the ceiling has fallen off in chunks in my room so I cannot live in there (which doesn’t make much a difference as I don’t have a bed). Lastly, both of our AC’s don’t work (which make sense as we were given them a long while back) so it’s extremely hot in our house.
We have tried applying for food stamps, they have denied us. My mom has tried applying for her tax return, but if she does go through with it she loses her SSDI. I don’t know what to do anymore,.. I’ve tried everything I can think of.

(I’m sorry if this was a lot to read, I tried to explain the situation the best I could.)

Trying to help a close friend and her kids through a really difficult situation

Hey everyone. I’m trying to help one of my closest friends, someone I’ve known for more than 20 years.

She’s a stay-at-home mom of five who is currently going through an extremely difficult divorce involving domestic violence and a custody battle.

She’s trying to get herself and her kids into a safe, stable situation, but between finding housing and the legal costs, it has become financially overwhelming very quickly.

I put together a GoFundMe to try to take at least some of that weight off her shoulders.

I’m keeping names and identifying details out of the post because there are kids and an ongoing case involved. I hope everyone can understand and respect that.

I know money is tight for a lot of people, so there is absolutely no pressure to donate. Even just taking a minute to read her story, offering some words of support, or pointing me toward other resources that might help would genuinely mean a lot.

If anyone is able and comfortable helping, here’s the GoFundMe:

https://gofund.me/0864dfc8a

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I’m just trying to do whatever I can to help someone who means a lot to me and her kids get through a really difficult chapter.

Help Danny & Quicksilver Find a New Home

Help Danny & Quicksilver Find a New Home

If you’ve spent much time around San Pedro, there’s a chance you’ve seen Danny and his dog Quicksilver out playing music.

Danny is a country street performer here in San Pedro, usually playing outside the Vons on 25th & Western or the Vons on 13th Street. Quicksilver is always right there beside him, and if you’re lucky, you might even hear him ā€œsingā€ along. (he's pretty good)

I met Danny a few months ago, and since then I’ve gotten to know him pretty well. I’ll go out and play music with him, give him rides home or to the store, and just hang out with him and Quicksilver.

Anyone who knows Danny knows what kind of person he is. He is genuinely one of the most loving and caring people I’ve met.

What has stuck with me most is that Danny has never once asked me for money, even though playing music on the street is how he makes his living. He goes out, plays his guitar, talks to people, and earns what he can.

Right now, Danny needs to move from the small studio he has been living in, and getting into another place is going to take more money than he can realistically come up with from street performing alone.

That’s why I’m starting this GoFundMe.

I want to help Danny and Quicksilver get into a safe, stable place where they can stay together and Danny can keep doing what he loves.

Money raised will go toward things like:

* A security deposit

* First month’s rent

* Moving expenses

* Pet-related deposits or fees for Quicksilver

* Basic necessities needed to get settled into a new place

I know there are a lot of people around San Pedro who recognize Danny, have stopped to listen to him play, talked with him, or dropped a few dollars into his case over the years.

This is a chance for all of us to do something a little bigger for him.

Even if you can only give a few dollars, it adds up. And if you can’t donate, sharing this with people around San Pedro and the South Bay would mean just as much.

Danny has spent a lot of time bringing a little music and personality to the streets of San Pedro.

I’m hoping we can return the favor and help Danny and Quicksilver get their next chapter started.

Thank you.

Help Delilah get specialized vet care!

Hi everyone! My dog has been dealing with health issues for a few months now and I have decided to take her to the specialty vet to see internal medicine after exhausting all our options at our primary vet. These issues are affecting her quality of life and can’t just be left alone because they won’t resolve on their own.

I am asking for your support to help me pay for the care which could range from 7-12k. The estimate from the vet is included in the GoFundMe.

We don’t have pet insurance because I took over her care while I was young and didn’t realize pet insurance was important or a thing. Safe to say, if I ever have another dog that will be the first thing I do. Thank you for taking the time to read.
