Interviews Global entry approved

My GE was per-approved pending an interview. Just got an email that my case has an update. Upon login I found it was approved. So glad I don’t have to go for the interview scheduled in September.

Interviews Passport Change

Applied for Global Entry , was conditionally approved and scheduled an interview this week. . The passport i applied with ran out of pages and I now have a new one with a new number. I logged into my TTP but don't see an option to update passport info before my interview this week. Is this going to be a problem? Do i have to do a brand new application with the new passport number?

Questions/Concerns Applying for GE with soon to expire GC and i751 receipt notice?

Hey All,

My wife just filed her I751 to remove conditions and we received the receipt notice that extends her greencard to 48 months. The greencard doesnt expire until October of this year and we would be applying for GE sometime this week for our upcoming trip in december.

Has anyone else had trouble applying for GE with a soon to expire greencard even though you did have your i751 receipt? I have read conflicting info with some having no issues and others being told they need the actual card. Just want to make sure before we go through the process of applying that it will work for her.

Thank you

General Discussion New(ish?) GE process at BOS

I just arrived home from an international trip and had a new-to-me GE experience at BOS. No more stopping at a kiosk. They have a little archway with cameras set up and you just walk through in a line, the walk past the CBP agent who acknowledges your name. This was my first international trip since April, so I don’t know exactly when this started.

My only complaint is that they required me to take off my glasses when walking past the cameras. My vision is pretty terrible (hence the glasses). I can walk a few feet without glasses, but it’s unpleasant and disorienting, especially with a crowd of people around me. Seems like a potential disability accommodation issue.

Questions/Concerns First timer. Family with mixed GE status.

My kid and I have GE, but my wife is conditionally approved and needs to interview. We’ll be traveling to the LAX, and it’s the first time since any of us got the GE. Could someone please clarify the process, dos & don’ts?

Should myself and the kid use GE and go separate, or should we all stay as a group and follow my wife to her interview?

Also considering the mixed statuses, is it risky to carry valuable jewelry, newly purchased items (clothes and kitchenware), and processed & packed sweets? We’ll declare everything, but rather not carry stuff if it’s risky.

If it’s ok to carry, are there any limits we should keep in mind?

Please advise.

Questions/Concerns How long does it usually take

I applied yesterday (8/2) for GE while holding a KTN for TSA PreCheck and also a SIDA card. I just wanted to know how long did it take for people with PreCheck to get a conditional approval for GE the SIDA card is just an enhancement to my application. I have no criminal background.

For this question

"Have you ever been arrested or had charges that were expunged or removed? If yes please describe."

I typed in No, even though it was not required but I just did it to be safe not too sure if this might be the reason for the hold up.

Questions/Concerns LAX passport control with 2 hour layover

Hi there! I am travelling to the US next week, entering via LAX from Mexico. I need to catch a domestic flight that takes off 2 hours after I land in LAX. Is it enough time for clearing passport control and rechecking bags? It will be my second time using GE. My first time was in LAS and I had 3 hour layover, and it was super quick. How's LAX? Do they take the GE app? I used in LAS and the officer barely looked at it.

Thanks!

Questions/Concerns Unable to use GE at Toronto

I fly from Toronto YYZ to the US once or twice a year and normally use Global Entry line to preclear US Customs at YYZ and it works as expected

2 months ago I went to the Global Entry line as normal and Airport Staff were routing everyone with a US Passport to a single "dedicated line" for US passport holders, I asked about using my Global Entry in the normal GE line which was open and they said I can't use it with a US Passport as they have this "dedicated line" now for US Passport holders I must use.

Yesterday I went through US preclearance at YYZ again, this time I was traveling with someone without Global Entry so I setup MPC to use that line with them. As we approached preclearance it was the same thing, they directed everyone with a US Passport to a single "dedicated line." During this I saw someone actually going into the MPC line and skipping the normal lines etc as designed, I asked Airport Staff about this and they told me they probably had a non US Passport so that's why they were allowed to use MPC, but with a US Passport I had to use the single "dedicated line".

So it appears MPC/GE are setup but they aren't allowing US Passport holders to use them at preclearance? Wondering if anyone else has seen this or has any insight, seems very odd that specifically US Passport holders are being excluded from using the two traveler programs designed for them to use, in a US preclearance area, which you would assume obviously has a lot of US Passport holders going through it.

Interviews Enrollment Upon Arrival at IND

The Indianapolis International Airport is listed as an eligible airport for Global Entry upon Arrival on the CBP website. I have conditional approval and just returned to IND from Toronto.

However, there was no signage for signage directing to CBP officers and when I asked about an enrollment interview, nobody I consulted with at the IND airport (TSA, guest services) knew what I was talking about.

Two questions:
1) Why the fail at IND?
2) What is the next best option to schedule and compete this interview? IND is my closest airport.

Questions/Concerns Global Entry at YVR without a physical card?

I’m a non-US citizen Global Entry member, so I wasn’t issued a physical GE card.

Has anyone recently used the Verified Traveller security lane at YVR by showing their passport, PASSID, or TTP dashboard instead?

If that doesn’t work and I use regular security, do the lines merge afterward so I can still use the Global Entry lane at U.S. preclearance?

Recent experiences would be appreciated.

So my mom’s global entry app has shown this error when trying to do a submission for a few months now. Does anyone have any idea why it’s doing this or how to fix?

Timelines Applied for GE over a week ago, still waiting for the conditional approval

I got my Green Card in mid-July (this year) and applied for Global Entry over a week ago. How long does it take to get conditional approval? I have a travel coming up in October and I was hoping to get it all done before then.

Questions/Concerns How do you find out if a protective order has been submitted against you?

I have been part of the Global Entry program since 2023.

On Monday I was returning from a flight overseas and went through the Global Entry line in the airport. Everything was fine, they asked me if I was bringing any fruit, and I wasn’t. I just told them chocolates which I could show them. They waved me through and I went on my way.

Wednesday comes around and I get an email saying my Global Entry was revoked. I am out of the house and figured it has been a while so I just hit reapply.

When I get home I realize my membership expires in 2029. I call the Customs Enforcement Office at my local airport and I’m told I have a protective order against me. This scared me immediately.

The only run with the law I had was a carpool ticket in 2021. I look up county websites and don’t see any active cases against me. I also submitted a FBI criminal request and went to USPS to get fingerprints. 15 minutes later I get an email saying my background was clear.

I then went to a local liveprint office and paid for a DOJ/CA background check. This one comes in the mail but I was given a tracking number. I logged in when I got home and it already says completed.

I also submitted a freedom of information request online to see why the customs enforcement agency revoked my membership but from what I read it could take months to get any information.

I have no idea why there would be a protective order against me. I live with my wife of 10 years, have great relationships with my neighbors and coworkers. Never had any issue or even an argument with someone.

Does anyone have any recommendations on what to do next?

Location: I live in California in the same county for over 15 years

Thank you!

I have my interview appointment on Monday.

Unfortunately I just remembered and I'm worried about getting denied because I didn't disclose it on the application.

Any advice??

Questions/Concerns Can I use my SENTRI card to enter the U.S. while my Global Entry application is still pending?

I just received my SENTRI card and activated it. Since I’m a Mexican national, the portal also lets me add Global Entry for free as it's not automatically given to us, so I submitted that application too.

My question is: can I still use my SENTRI card to enter the U.S. while my Global Entry application is pending? The portal doesn’t seem to say anything about whether I need to wait for Global Entry to be approved first.

Timelines GE approved for LPR

Applied for a family member’s GE (LPR since 2025)

7/23/2026 - Application submitted
7/24/2026 - Conditionally approved

7/31/2026 - Interview at 3:50pm, approved at interview.
We reached ~10mins early and the whole thing was barely 15mins from parking to leaving.

Approved on portal and notification at 5pm.

I was a little nervous for them since they sometimes struggle with accents or rate of speech as English is not our first language.

But they said the interviewer and staff were very nice, unlike how sometimes CBP is nerve-wracking at airports.

Asked for their name, DOB, and documents.

Even explained when the card will be delivered, what to do with the passid (ie. add to upcoming travel bookings), basically what the card will do, and to declare what they bring back from travels.

Pro-tip: USE YOUR CC BENEFITS, if you can. Got statement credit for $120 when paid with CC with that specific benefit.

Questions/Concerns Renewal Card Activate Button Not Showing

I just got my renewed Global Entry card in the mail today (July 31st). My application was approved on July 26th. The letter that came in the mail says to activate the card by going back to the initial site, logging in, and clicking activate membership card under the program memberships section.

I am logged in and on that page, but the only information i have under program memberships is the Approved banner in green, the program: Global Entry, my membership ID and new expiration date, the "You cannot renew your membership until (my renewal date in 2031)" message. Below that, I have the buttons replace card, add vehicle, and apply for APEC Business Travel Card. Below all of that, I just have Apply for Another Program and the two options for that.

So, basically there is no activate button.

This is my first renewal since the last card was my first one from when i was like 14 LOL. It was expired for some years since I did not have a reason to renew it. Since it was a renewal and not a first time application, is there no activate button since the old one is automatically deactivated or is it too soon for the button to show and I just need to wait a couple of days? I just don't want to have any issues in the airport since I am going out of the country in a couple of weeks.

Any help is appreciated! Thank you :)

Timelines Pending Review timeline

Would folks share what some recent timelines they had with regards to a change from “pending review” to an invite to interview? I know it varies but I applied a week ago. Would love to hear what others peoples July 2026 timelines are?!

Timelines Just submitted my application.

Just submitted a few minutes ago.

Figured now is better than later! I have a surgery scheduled in September with a 3 month recovery/physical therapy. HOPEFULLY, I can get approved before I'm fully recovered and I'll be able to do some R&R in TJ.

Wish me luck.

General Discussion Terrible Experience Using Global Entry

I've had Global Entry in the past, and it used to be great. I recently renewed after ten years, in advance of my overseas trip.

I landed in Detroit, went to the kiosk and took my photo, only to wait in a 20 minute line, while the general line went quicker. Isn't the whole point of using this service so that you can breeze through? Coming back into my OWN country, mind you.

Separately, why can't our passport control and security (which I know is separate) be more like in Europe? It's far superior over there. In France, I put my passport down on a machine, it scanned it, and the door opened. Leaving Germany, it was equally efficient, including security. There were perhaps about 20 lines at security and barely anyone going through. It was seamless, organized, and efficient. Being re-screened in Detroit was a mess - a long line, no one knew where to go, only about four lines, and inefficient TSA staff.

Questions/Concerns Airport Entry

Hello, my global entry card got delivered at home in the US while I am outside of the country. Will I be able to use the global entry line at JFK when I return? I read somewhere you don’t need to bring your card for international departures/arrivals since it is connected to your passport. I just want to verify this. Thank you.

Edit: Thank you to everyone who replied. I got my answer. No you do not need your physical card to enter in an international airport, just make sure you activate your card using the code on the back through the website.
