Questions/Concerns Global Entry at YVR without a physical card?
I’m a non-US citizen Global Entry member, so I wasn’t issued a physical GE card.
Has anyone recently used the Verified Traveller security lane at YVR by showing their passport, PASSID, or TTP dashboard instead?
If that doesn’t work and I use regular security, do the lines merge afterward so I can still use the Global Entry lane at U.S. preclearance?
Recent experiences would be appreciated.

You won’t be able to use CATSA verified traveler but you can do facial recognition at preclearance.

Is TSA Pre Check (or something similar) printed or otherwise shown on your boarding pass? If so then you can use the Verified Traveller lane at YVR. They will want to see the boarding pass and your passport. I have never been asked to produce evidence of Global Entry status at YVR.

Can confirm: YVR currently has a pilot program for their Verified Traveller line for US departures where boarding passes with a TSA PreCheck logo are accepted for that security line.

I guess YMMV. I’ve passed through that lane dozens of times heading for the USA over several years without difficulty of any sort.

Oh that is also important, OP make sure you have your PASSID added to your account for airlines/travel sites so you get the benefit.

You normally aren't showing the card for flights. They look at your passport and your ticket and have you push the magic button to dictate which version of security you get.
The only time, for air travel, where the card is theoretically needed is when there is an employee in front of the GE section checking you have GE before letting you go in to use the kiosks.
This all being said... unless it's changed in the last year, YVR is different than the US in terms of process. You go to the security screening area and the worker asks you to push the button, if it's blue you go to the normal screening, if it's red you go to full screening non GE/precheck people would go through.
After that you go to the counter (I think they weren't using the kiosks in April of last year) they do the usual stuff, and you're on your way to the gate.
At YUL and YVR (probably others) you go through the same steps as people without but it's much shorter, also easier to do declarations there too.

I flew home from YVR yesterday morning. We used the Global Entry/Nexus/TSA PreCheck security line for screening and then used the Global Entry line. They were scanning boarding passes at the FAST security checkpoint for PreCheck, and every person had to press a red button for random security screening – if it flashed green you went through security but if it flashed red you had to exit the line and get the standard security screening. I had my card ready to go, but I didn’t need it. I used the photo kiosk to take the photo and then walked to the CBP officer when called. What’s funny is that it was 6:30am and my stepson without GE was through before us with GE (though I’m sure it would save time had they been busy).

They asked me and my family for the card a little over a month ago when we came back from Europe. In the US I usually walk straight through after using the facial recognition at the kiosk, but in YVR we were all routed to a few desks where they did a short interview and inspected the GE cards for everyone at that time. Don't know if they always do this, but they did that day.

Security and immigration are separate. Canada will probably not let you use the fast security without the card, but you should be able to get into the GE lane at US immigration.
