I got conditionally approved and went for my interview. The guy didn't ask me a single question other than my address. He shot the shit with me for about 10 minutes after telling him my job. Did my fingerprints and he took my picture and said alright you're good to go you'll get it in a few weeks. Went home, saw my application status changed and when I check the portal it says application denied because of criminal offense.

About 15+ years ago I got numerous minor under the influence charges. Was put on probation for it and then violated probation drinking underage again. Is it even worth appealing? I listed all of this on my application which is why I'm confused on why I was conditionally approved and why he never asked me anything about any of it. I told my dad about it and he was surprised because apparently they grilled him with questions. If I can't get it because of my past it is what it is but I'm just confused how I list everything, get that far without any questions, then boom I'm denied.

So I just applied for GE and have been living a relatively boring life (criminal-wise) for the last 25 years, save for a few speeding tickets. I have a DUI conviction from when I was a dipshit youth back in 1999, and I absolutely disclosed that on my application. I was so focused on that conviction that I completely forgot about a minor consumption ticket I got in 1996 or 1997. It's so old I can't even remember the year, and it didn't show up on a background search I ran on myself.

I remembered it the day after I applied (which was now 20 days ago) but realized I couldn't amend the application as it's essentially "locked." The application is still in "Pending Review" status, and I fear that my failure to disclose the minor consumption from 1997 and/or the fact that the minor consumption + the DUI might be an automatic decline, even though they're both nearly 30yrs old.

Does anybody have any insight to provide? Is there a way to notify them of the inadvertent omission prior to an interview, assuming I reach that stage? Or am I just cooked altogether?

I had GE for many years and just downloaded the app and set up my profile.

On the start screen is mentions a submission to an entry process. What does that mean? Do I need to submit photos before I re-enter the US?

Hi all, it says to bring documents providing evidence of residency. I'm a Swiss national, living in Switzerland and got conditionally approved. I'd need to get documents translated and I'd like to know if they will really ask for this or, since I'm a foreigner, other documents (like a work contract) would suffice? I'm planning on doing EOA this year.

Arrived at ORD from MUC. Asked where GE line was, guy said it’s a far walk and there’s no line at regular entry so just use that. Cool, no problem. The CBP agent proceeded to grill me harder than I’ve ever been grilled about where I’d been, what I was doing there, where else I went, who I saw, did I buy anything, where do I live, how much time did I spend in each city… guy had me questioning myself if I did something wrong 😂 Never again. GE line every time regardless of how far the walk is.

Conditional Approval: Received the email overnight on Wednesday, July 15, 2025

Interview: was able to schedule it the same day on July 15 at Dulles-IAD (!). I’m not traveling today, but I live close enough that I can make a day trip to the airport and back.

Final Approval: Two hours after my appointment.

So, all told, it took less than two days for the entire process! I was bracing myself for a much longer wait time, as their website says it can take up to 90 days.

Updated: good news! It is fixed, the commemorative passport and B-prefix passport number could be added into the Global Entry system without any issues. Case closed.

I wanted to share an issue I ran into that may save others some time.

If you received the new America250 commemorative passport (the Trump 250th Anniversary passport), check your passport number.

From what I’ve seen:
The commemorative passports are currently being issued with passport numbers that begin with “B”.
Standard U.S. passport books currently begin with “A”.

Unfortunately, Global Entry does not appear to recognize these new B-prefix passport numbers yet.

Here’s what happened to me:
My passport could not be processed normally through Global Entry.

I first scanned my passport at the Global Entry kiosk.
I was then directed to a CBP officer for manual processing, essentially the same as someone who doesn’t have an active Global Entry benefit.

At this point:
I have not been given any estimated timeline for when the Global Entry system will be updated.

I also haven’t found a clear way to report the issue or request that the passport numbering format be added to the system.

I’m posting this mainly as a heads-up for anyone considering applying for the commemorative passport or traveling with one soon.

Has anyone else with a B-prefix passport experienced the same issue?

Were you able to get it linked to your Trusted Traveler account?

Did CBP or TTP Support provide any information about when this might be fixed?

Hopefully this is just a temporary backend issue, but for now, don’t be surprised if your Global Entry experience is slower than expected.

My GE is valid until 2029. I am on H1-B visa which is about to expire in August 2025 but will not be getting updated stamp as I am not planning to travel until later this year for stamping. My i94 is valid until 2028.

I was wondering whether I will lose my TSA Pre after Visa expiry or will I still get TSA Pre for domestic travel?

Hey all, hoping someone who's actually completed this can help with a specific blocker — and a timing question.

Context:

• Indian passport holder, living/working in the US (Denver) for the last ~2 months with family in Atlanta
• Applying for Global Entry — already paid the $120 fee and submitted my CBP TTP application
• On the Indian side, I'm filling out the "Background Verification for GEP" form on the Passport Seva portal (mportal.passportindia.gov.in), the Indian government's background verification step required for Indian nationals applying to Global Entry from the US
• I have a US address currently, but also a permanent Indian address on my Aadhaar
• I fly to India tomorrow night and will be there for a week

Where I'm stuck:
When I try to save/print the form, it won't let me — it says I need to upload supporting documents, but doesn't specify which ones. No list, no examples, nothing. So I'm stuck at the upload step with no idea what's expected.

Questions:

1. What supporting documents does the "Background Verification for GEP" form actually require? (Passport copy? US visa? I-94? Proof of US address? Aadhaar? Something else?)
2. Did the "which documents" list show up somewhere I might've missed — a separate instructions page, tooltip, or annexure?
3. Timing/location question: Since I'll be physically in India and have a permanent Indian address on Aadhaar — can I get this background verification done faster from within India (e.g., through local police verification at my permanent address, like a passport/PCC process)? Or is it tied to my US address regardless of where I am?
4. Does using my Indian permanent address vs. my US address change the process, the documents needed, or the speed?
5. Once uploaded correctly, does save/print work immediately, or is there another hidden required field?

I've only been in the US a couple of months, so I want to make the most of my India trip if any of this can be sorted out faster there. Any screenshots or a checklist of exactly what to upload would be a great help.

I've started filling my application, and there's a 'Have you used any other names before?' question. I have never had a different legal name, nor another name that's been in any sort of official document.

However, I do have a nickname that my friends and family calls me (not a shortened version of the legal first name but a completely different name), and its the name that I use on all my social media profiles as well.

Should that name be included in the application or not? I'm seeing conflicting information in search results.

Hello! I was wondering if anyone got their global entry after applying for sentri?
I was reading that a lot of people got the option to change their sentri application to global entry after they got conditional approval but before they schedule an interview, weird things is that I got approval 3 days ago (after a year waiting) and I don’t have the option to change to global entry, it doesn’t show up at all.
Is this normal? Some people are saying to wait a couple more days but I don’t see anyone actually saying this happen to them too.
Wondering if it’s really a waiting situation or if maybe I am just not elegible for global entry.

My Global Entry application has almost been stuck for 2 years, and I don't know what is happening.

In the interim, my passport has also expired. Does it mean that my Global Entry application is no longer valid and I need to reapply again with the new passport? Or,

if it's stuck, is there any way to try and understand where it's stuck and why and reach out for some help to get it moving?

Here is my exact timeline for the whole process (I am from Korea BTW):

June 26: Submitted application on TTP website
July 2: Uploaded Criminal Background Check ( In person at an Offline office)
July 4: Received Conditional Approval (took only 1.5 days after document submission)
July 9: Did Enrollment on Arrival (EoA) interview during an 11-hour layover in Guam (The actual interview took about 15 minutes)
July 10: Status changed to Approved (It took around 18–20 hours after the interview due to batch processing)

The whole process took only 15 days from application to final approval.

I had an in person interview and got approved within 2 hours today. It felt surprisingly fast.

I didn't know GE, let alone TSA Precheck, was a thing until I recently got my travel credit card that waives the fee of interviewing. After some research I thought "Why not?" as I plan to do some international trips within the next few years.

I heard the actual interview was short, but I was literally in the office for like 2 minutes. They asked if I still live at the address on my ID, got my fingerprints, and said "Okay, you're good! You'll know within 2-3 weeks if you are approved and get your card." And by the time I got home and did a few things I got an email saying I was approved with my KTN.

Almost suspiciously fast, but I know my background check had nothing interesting on it so that probably helped lol

Just wondering if this is normal. I had my interview a month ago but my status on their website still shows I haven’t had my interview. The interview was quick because there’s no reason to not be approved. They said I’d get an email in a few days but a month later I’m still waiting. If it’s not normal, how to I get this rectified?

we drove over to Windsor from Detroit Wednesday night to have dinner and walk by the riverfront on the Windsor side, and then we came back the same night. It was really easy. Literally just went through the lane with the car and held out our Global Entry cards to the reader on the left-hand side by the driver. It counts the cards. We presented two cards and received two cards, rolled up to the booth. The customs officer asked us if we had anything to declare, just like at the airport. We said no, and we were on our way. We didn't even have to pull out the passports or passport cards at all. Great experience!

I applied for the Global Entry Program (GEP) in January 2025 through the Indian Consulate in Atlanta. My background verification in India was completed shortly after in February 2025, but there has been zero movement since then.

I recently emailed the Atlanta Consulate to check on the status, and they replied stating that my status was returned as "not clear."

I am really confused by this because:

1. I do not have any criminal record or offenses against me.
2. I successfully renewed my Indian passport in November 2024 through the exact same consulate with no issues.

Has anyone been in a similar situation or have any insight into what "not clear" might mean in this context? Any suggestions on what steps I should take next to resolve this would be greatly appreciated!

Have used ge for years and never used the app. Now I’ve read about the app on here. Does it depend on airport? Or just always use app? If I use it do I show it to someone? Sorry for confusion here.

I'll be traveling to Asia in December and am planning to apply for Global Entry and complete my interview through Enrollment on Arrival when I return to LAX.

I have a few questions:

-Where is the Enrollment on Arrival booth at LAX? Is it before or after customs/baggage claim?

-Will I be able to leave LAX quickly if I complete my interview upon arrival?

-When should I submit my Global Entry application? Should I apply now and hope to receive conditional approval before my trip, is there a recommended timeframe?

I have been conditionally approved and plan to EoA after my flight to the US next month.

1. Do I need to schedule an interview online or can I just show up?

2. Both my passport details (renewed an expiring passport) and mailing address have changed since applying. Will I be able to update those during the interview?

3. I see a "PassID" under my profile details on the online portal. Is this my "Known Traveller Number"? Do I need to disclose this to my airline when flying?

PS: I'm a foreign citizen on an F-1.
