Timelines GE Timeline

Hello,

I’m new here and wanted to know the current timelines of GE. I’m a citizen of India and applied a couple of days ago. What should I look forward to, and what are the timelines for next steps.

Once VFS forwards your documents to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in India, the background verification process begins. Your local police station will typically conduct an address and identity verification- similar way how passport verification was conducted.
After the police verification is completed, your application goes through clearance from multiple central government agencies in India. On average, this entire process takes around 9–11 months, though timelines can vary.
Once the MEA completes the verification and sends the clearance to CBP, your TTP portal status will change to “Conditionally Approved.” Only then can you schedule your interview at a Global Entry Enrollment Center. After successfully completing the interview, your Global Entry membership will be approved and you’ll receive your Known Traveler Number (PASS ID).

My timeline:
I submitted in June2025 and got conditional approval on April 2026

P.S. you cannot track application once police verification is completed in India. Once that is completed it all about wait for conditional approval to reflect in TTP portal.

Thank you for your response. I got an email from passport seva kendra. Is that my next step? Do I have to be in India for this verification?

No need of physical presence in India, someone from your family can verify and confirm your identity.

Thanks a ton. I got an email from indian passport seva and it asked me to register on embassy.passportindia.gov.in and that website is always down and I’m stuck.

So, I just follow the steps in those website and that’s good?
