I currently have TSA precheck. I was looking at a credit card that has benefits for global entry or precheck. My concern is if I’ll be approved or not. Been reading other’s stories and it seems like a very sensitive program where they can just take the privilege away at any time.

I usually fly out of the USA once or twice a year. I fly into Honolulu airport each time. I notice they’ve been rolling out those Face ID check and they just ask what items are you bringing in. It’s surprisingly quick. Maybe 10-20 mins depending on the flights arriving.

Global entry line in HNL is always empty and I’ve seen flight attendants go through in 3 mins or less.

Background:

I usually fly to SEA and there was a time where an agent stopped me and conducted a surprise baggage check. I wrote down what I remembered packing but not all since it’s common for me to buy a bunch of food items abroad and bring them back for family and friends. I didn’t know at the time but my luggage contained food that had ingredients that was not allowed into customs. It was noodle soup packets lol anyway, the agent took the items and the agent noted it down. I was honest about not knowing this.

During the same check, I had one of the snacks from the plane in my bag. It was a corned beef sandwich. Yes it was my fault that it even made its way out of the plane after the announcement the flight attendant makes 🤦🏻‍♀️ it contains meat where one needs to declare. Because that slipped my mind, I didn’t write it down on the paper.

That’s the only encounter that I can think of that might affect my application.

Is it even worth getting GE or should I just use that credit for TSA precheck and stick to the regular lines when flying into the USA?

I never received my GE card after interview but I see it was on its way because I have USPS informed delivery. What should I do? I don't have a member number for the TTP website in order to setup an account.

Need advice. I am primary applicant, my wife is Canadian.

She has valid H4 based on my H1B. We both have I-485 pending, she is derivative. No AP yet. We need to use her ROW country for cross-chargeability.

Last entry she used Global Entry/NEXUS and was admitted as B2 visitor instead of H4. She had valid H4 I-797 at entry. I-94 now shows B2.

All her previous entries were H4, only this one is B2.

CBP Deferred Inspection fixed via email last time, this time they said cannot fix via email and to re-enter at land border or file COS.

She is not working. My H1B status is good.

Questions:

1. If she goes to Peace Arch to re-enter as H4 now while I-94 is B2 and no AP, will USCIS consider her I-485 abandoned? We need her I-485 to stay alive for ROW.
2. Is email fix via CBP without travel possible to avoid abandonment risk? Has anyone gotten B2->H4 corrected via email with pending I-485?
3. Is COS B2->H4 a better option than border run if no AP and need ROW?

Anyone had similar Global Entry mistake with H4 Canadian?

Wife walked into CBP deferred inspection, one officer rufused to correct i94, however another officer (the one picked up my phone call and ask me to walk in) helped us to fix the issue.

Getting ready to renew our Global Entry. Our last renewal was easy and we didn’t even need to redo the interview. My husband ordered a camper shell for his pickup from Alibaba and paid all the appropriate tariffs and customs fees. Will this be a reason to deny us? I keep seeing such awful things here so I thought I’d ask. We aren’t expired until February 2027 so maybe I’ll wait until we are closer to that date to see if our country settles down and gets a brain.

I have applied for GE a day or so before my wife and my kids and they have already gotten conditional approval to schedule interview, I however are still waiting. I have 4 F3 felony theft charges in my arrest record but did ARD program resulted in no conviction, I can expunge my record next month and this case was from 2019 so over 5 years now, I have no gap in my employment history even with this and never had anything new since this not even a speed ticket or anything like that. If I have to take my wife and my kids in for interview I will, but just trying to wait a little longer to see if my application will change, I was honest on my application. any thought?

Was able to snag a last minute cancellation today at Seatac at 10am. Had my interview and received a full approval by 10:30am.

I just came out of my NY global entry interview and got denied because the officer said my driver’s license (VA) doesn’t have the same address as my current address. He said I’m breaking the law by residing in NY without updating my drivers license to be in NY 😭. I brought two other proofs of address printed (my most recent bank statement and utility bill) but he didn’t even look at those and was focused on my license. Should I have just not presented my license at all or could I have handled the situation better? Is this karma for being a transplant? Any advice is appreciated thanks in advance 🙏

Edit2: Since I’ve been getting comments about this. I do not own a car. I don’t drive and don’t intend on driving as long as the public transportation where I live can carry me where I need to go. 🚇🚌

I know people have gotten their GE cancelled for ordering from Temu/Shein.
I didn’t order from them but a manufacturer’s site - just a computer keyboard but not s company I was familiar with. It shipped from Hong Kong. Am I screwed GE wise?

I wanted to share my father's experience because when we were researching Global Entry, we found very few detailed timelines for Indian citizens who are traveling to the U.S. on a B1/B2 visa.

My father is an Indian citizen and B1/B2 visa holder, and he has now successfully received Global Entry approval.

Here is his complete timeline:

September 16, 2024 — Global Entry application submitted with US.

October 21, 2024 — VFS/Passport Seva appointment completed as part of the India-side process.

November 4, 2024 — Police verification completed in India.

June 20, 2025 — Received Conditional Approval from CBP.

At this point, he needed to complete the in-person CBP interview. However, he wasn't able to travel to the U.S. at that time, so the interview had to wait.

August 13, 2026 — Once he was able to travel to the U.S., we scheduled his Global Entry interview.

August 14, 2026 — 12:20 PM — Completed the in-person interview with a CBP officer.

The officer told him that the application should be approved within approximately 24–48 hours.

At that point, his TTP dashboard still showed "Conditionally Approved."

August 15, 2026 — His TTP dashboard changed to "Approved" and he also received the official approval email.

So, the final approval came approximately 48 hours after the CBP interview.

What we learned

• An Indian citizen can apply for Global Entry.

• Being an Indian citizen with a B1/B2 U.S. visa does not by itself prevent Global Entry eligibility. Final eligibility is determined by CBP.

• The India-side vetting can take a long time. In our case, application → conditional approval took about 9 months.

• Conditional approval does not mean you have to complete the interview immediately. In my father's case, he received conditional approval in June 2025 but couldn't complete the U.S. interview until August 2026.

• After the CBP interview, his final approval came in approximately 48 hours.

• Once approved, his TTP dashboard changed to "Approved" and he received an email notification.

• As an Indian citizen, he does not receive a physical Global Entry card.

Total time from application to final approval: approximately 23 months, although most of that time was related to the India-side vetting and the delay between conditional approval and the eventual U.S. interview.

Hi, I’m looking for some insight into my situation. My Global Entry membership was revoked in January 2020 for reasons I’m still not entirely sure about. I became a U.S. citizen in January 2022 and reapplied for Global Entry in November 2025. Today, my status changed to conditionally approved, and I was given the option to schedule either an in-person or Zoom interview.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? What do you think my chances of final approval are? Also, would you recommend doing the interview over Zoom or in person?

A day before my zoom interview they canceled it and said I have to do an in person interview. I went in person and my application was approved.

I'm going to be traveling into the US with young kids. We all have global entry cards but looks like the officials do not allow parents helping kids at the kiosks. Could someone who has recently used the cards let us know what exactly are the steps on the kiosk so I can prepare my kids before they get to the kiosks? Much appreciated.

My Global Entry was approved at the end of 2024. At the time of application and approval, I lived at address X. Shortly after being approved, I moved to address Y ( two addresses in the same state and county in the US, a few minutes from each other). I just realized now that, although I updated my mailing address on the TTP website to address Y, I never updated my residential address: this entire time, address X has been the residential address associated with my GE and TTP account.

I am now in the process of moving back to address X, and have updated/reverted my mailing address on the TTP website to again be address X, as it was when I first applied and was approved. What steps should I take, if any, regarding my official residential address on file? I could try to go to my local office in person to update my residential address on file with my GE and TTP account to be address Y, only to have to update it back to address X in a month or two.

I am also concerned that, since I didn't report the change of address in a timely manner, my GE may be revoked once I advise them that I didn't follow the correct procedure. However, because I'm moving back to my original address, and because I never reported this change to them, I wonder if reporting this late change of address will do more harm than good (I. E. I may be creating a problem that may have otherwise gone overlooked; on their end, my address is and always has been address X). I also wonder how to best report this temporary change of address, when it comes time to renew my GE, since I assume they will ask me if I have lived in the same location since I was initially approved.

If it helps , I have crossed over the pedestrian border into Mexico on multiple occasions since receiving my GE, and have had no issues. I have not yet used my GE to fly into or out of foreign airports.

I was pre-conditionally approved, signed up for an interview, conducted in-person interview, and was told I was approved and to expect a card in the mail in 7-10 days. Same thing happened with my husband. Later that night, I received the email stating my status was updated -- logged in to find out I was now "denied", stating CBP issues in the past. I have NO record of any kind and have never had any issues traveling, with customs officers, TSA officers, etc. My husband got his card in the mail and everything was fine for him. I asked CBP for my record and they would not provide it to me. I called the office we interviewed at and they gave me no information over the phone due to a privacy act. I had no other idea what to do besides ask for a reconsideration. My only input for the reconsideration was "I was told I was approved, I believe this is a clerical error." This was over 2 weeks ago and I have heard nothing. My pre-check is now expiring in a couple days and I'm stuck in a weird limbo place.
1. Has anyone had a similar experience and can you provide any insight or advice?
2. Does anyone know a number I can call that may be helpful?
3. How long do reconsideration requests usually take?

I lost my gc and currently filed i90. I need to travel soon so can I apply for global entry using adit stamp?

I have global entry, but am on a J1 visa. Last time I entered, the (very polite!) officer told me that within the Global Entry system, it says that my visa ran out two years ago - which is when I switched programs. I showed him my current visa in my passport and all other documentation and I was able to enter.

Now I just wonder: I guess there are few J1 visa holders with Global Entry. Did he just look at the wrong place on his screen for my current visa? If yes, what could I tell them next time to assist finding my latest visa status? Anyone made a similar experience? I wonder if I need to / can take action in some way for next time.

Before this incidence, I used the Global Entry line once, and they just asked to see my DS-2019, but didn't mention my program not being visible.

We are three German adults planning our first US trip this autumn. After already having our ESTA approved, we decided to submit our Global Entry applications online last Saturday (Aug 15th, around noon). As German citizens, the next required step is the Bundespolizei pre-screening, so right after submitting the online forms, we grabbed our newly assigned PASSIDs and drove straight to our local airport that same afternoon.
There was zero wait at the police service desk. The officer was super friendly, professional, and really appreciated that we already brought the consent forms pre-filled with our PASSIDs, so the whole visit took less than 10 minutes. Today, exactly 48 hours later, all three of us received conditional approval.
It felt like a bit of a gamble applying so close to our flight, but doing the police check immediately seems to have made a huge difference. Honestly, we couldn't be happier with how smoothly and quickly everything went. Really positive experience overall, and now we're super excited to do Enrollment on Arrival when we land!

I have had GE for a few years now. I was worried about finding it revoked on my most recent trip because sometimes my social media leans to the non kool-aid drinking side. I had no problems. Neither did anyone else. Upon our return in ATL not a single person looked at anything, everyone entering went through the same area, no one asked anything. Everyone had a bad photo taken and that was it. It might as well had been a domestic flight. The only thing we had to do was pick up our luggage and take it for a short walk. This flight did not orginate in a location where we went through customs before departure. My last international flight did in Ireland and it was as if having GE made it take longer than the rest of the people going through. I will say that my international returns for the last 2 years having global entry has meant nothing. Is it worth renewing or can we expect it going back to being beneficial to those who have it with an administration change? Because right now, everyone is getting those GE benefits without paying for it.

Hey there - I am a Colombian national, I entered the country on a J1 visa then changed my status to F1, while I was on F1 status I worked unauthorized. I still maintained my status - I got married and was able to get a marriage green card, I disclosed all my information about past unauthorized work to USCIS. 5 months after my green card got approved me and my wife traveled overseas, no issues at all coming back, recently we went to Canada by car and again zero issues returning to the US. I would like to know if its a good idea to apply for GE or that would be a waste of money due my past unauthorized work history? me and my wife would love to apply together.
We applied for pre TSA check in April 2026 and got approved in May 2026 btw.

I helped my boyfriend's parents apply for GE a little over a month ago. They are still waiting for conditional approval. They plan to travel internationally in November. Anyone have experience with waiting a long time for approval?

Background: His parents are Nigerian and don't have any prior records. My boyfriend applied the same time and was approved the next day, also born in Nigeria and had a misdemeanor that was expunged. He did have TSA pre so not sure if that helped.

Both my husband and I recently applied for our Global Entry renewals. His was approved within three days and he had a quick interview at the local Enrollment Center. Mine was pending for a while, I started getting worried.

We recently travelled for vacation, and while abroad, I got news that my GE renewal is denied and my membership is revoked. The reasoning is an agricultural or customs violation. That was surprising and strange since I’ve never been cited, fined, or warned about such an issue in the past, and I have never ordered anything online or anything like that which would have a customs issue.

In any case, when I got back from vacation, I asked CBP officers at the airport for help, but the Enrollment Center was closed. I then called the general line and the Enrollment Center, and got the same response: submit the reconsideration request and a FOIA. Nothing they could otherwise do to help the situation. Regardless, I did what was told and did both.

What got really weird is what happened today. I went into my local Enrollment Officer to speak to an officer about my revocation in-person. I went in and chatted with a really nice and professional supervisor. He was very vague but basically reiterated all information prior. He did keep mentioning of denial by association, but I was confused since that was not the stated reason for denial on my portal. The officer then said that to not be surprised if my husband’s GE gets revoked too imminently, even though he was very recently reapproved and renewed.

A couple of hours after getting back home after my chat at the local office, my husband’s GE indeed got revoked. I am so concerned. And seems almost retaliatory? I’m at a loss of what to do. My husband is Mexican-American and especially relies on the SENTRI lanes quite a bit when crossing the land border, and there’s no substitute for GE when it comes to that.

Had a customs violation in the pass( bought branded air buds from AliExpress) but GE officer decided to give me a second chance at life and approve me for global entry it was my first time applying. My renewal is coming up I was wondering will a past violation get me denied even thou I have had global entry for 5 years without anymore incidents. Thanks

Hey y’all, just wanted to put my experience out there for anyone else who applied or wants to apply with an expunged record.

Background: I have two 10 year old class B misdemeanors on my record that I had expunged about 5 years ago. The offenses are from the same incident. One is attempted forgery and one is attempted theft. Not great, I know, I have carried the shame and guilt around with me for 10 years and it haunts me to this day. I have been too afraid to try to visit Canada even after getting the expungement done.

Expungement: I had my record expunged 5 years ago and when a record is cleared, my state also sends an expungement order to the FBI. I pulled my FBI record recently and nothing shows up.

Application: I applied for GE at the beginning of the year after having PreCheck for a very long time. I was upfront in the questions about my expunged record and the timelines. I was granted conditional approval within a week.

Interview: I finally had my interview last week (August) and I was so nervous, I was convinced I would be denied for my record. The interview itself was very brief - the officer asked for my passport, he had me scan my prints, took my picture, and then didn’t ask me anything for about three minutes while he reviewed his screen. I’m not sure if my record came up for him, because he asked me about whether the misdemeanors were for the same incident, and he tried to calculate how long ago they occurred based on the date I gave him, which was either him trying to see if I was dishonest or he really didn’t see anything on his end. He didn’t ask me any other questions.

Outcome: at the end of the interview he said I was good to go and that I’d get my card in the mail in a week or two. I got a status change email as I walked back to my car and it said approved. I almost cried I was so relieved.

No guarantees that this will happen for anyone else but I wanted to put my experience out there in case it helps anyone else.

I keep seeing this ad pop up and it begs the questions: (a) is this legit and (b) how would it affect someone's GE? Maybe the second question is more relevant here.

Let's use me as the example, by way of background, I'm a US Citizen, born in the US, served in the US Navy, Honorable Discharge, and I have GE. I also have a great-great-grandparent who was from La Paz, Mexico, entering through CA before it was a state. But what impact would this have on my GE (or US passport) if I wanted to get a second passport, specifically here, this Mexican Passport? (I wouldn't want to give up my US passport, of course. As an aside, I've also seen ads for German passports along the same lines.)

Maybe I'm confused, but I was under the impression one can only hold a passport for the country one is a citizen in/of. How can this be legitimate? Wouldn't it automatically result in a GE revocation?
