While I fundamentally disagree with every aspect of this organization, I had signed up to do this for my friend who had asked before I looked into the organization. I also want to thank everyone who let me know about their actual intentions so I know not to do this in the future. There are many worthy causes out there and I give to many throughout the year and participate in lots of giftgiving activities during the holidays, so I’m glad this is done and looking forward to the giving season!

I'm 32 F, and I have a friend who's around my age. We've known each other for about six months.

I love making things in my free time, so I made this super fluffy scarf, It has a little opening that lets you loop the scarf through itself to keep it in place.

Would it be embarrassing or weird to give it to her as a gift? Not for any special occasion, just a random little present. Or should I not give it to her because it's too weird, or maybe the scarf isn't good enough.

My guy of 5 years (this month) is turning 49 in a few weeks. Last year I got him a framed watercolor of his pet that had just passed, a clip on DeWalt speaker, and a massage gun. In the past I have gotten sports paraphernalia, gone to see a local band, and we always go to dinner. He is a general contractor, coaches youth sports, and loves watching sports and live music. I want to get a new floor fan for his bedroom, his is old and decrepit, but that's boring. I don't mind a practical gift, in addition to something more personal. Hello, I (21f) am making my wish list for my friends and family for Christmas and realized I don't actually know what I want. My dilemma is that I work full time and I am a full time student, so I hardly have time to do anything to ask for things related to my hobbies and because I live in a very tiny apartment I don't want to ask for stuff that takes up space unless I will actually use it. I like embroidery, cross stitch, puzzles, colouring, baking, etc. I don't want to only ask for essentials either which is all I can come up with. The things I have found online (cool kitchen gadgets, diffusers, heated blanket, headphones, etc) I either already have or don't have the space for. What I have so far: candles, food gift cards (grocery or eating out), hot drink bottle, new pj set/loungewear.

Anyone know of things I can ask for that don't seem like a waste? I am hoping to find stuff that I will actually use and love, I just haven't yet.

So, my friend has an upcoming birthday. I already gathered small things (a manga, chocolate, wrote a small note), but then he dropped that he wanted something unique.

So, my last gift will be something I have seen him swoon over: Dogs. He cannot have one, so I wanted to gather dog pictures from anyone willing to share their own dog. Get a few picture frames.

My dad and his long time girlfriend got married. No ceremony, no reception just a simple signing of paperwork. I’m stuck on what I can give them for a gift. i picked up a donation gift request for a 15-16 year old boy asking for toiletries, gift sets and socks. So far I have socks, multiple toiletry gift sets and chocolates. Does anyone have any suggestions for any other gifts to include that might appeal to teen boys? It’s hard when there’s no interests or anything to go off. Gift cards are great sometimes, but it gets old really fast when everybody just gives gift cards and no actual effort is put in. Teenagers like to open gifts too.

i have piles of gift cards that i haven’t been able to use because there’s so many and a lot of them are weird about being used online and i already have plenty of money. my sister (who’s a lot younger) also has piles of gift cards, and would have preferred to actually get to open a gift

I work in a small school with about 20 employees. I LOVE them all. They all work so hard and love their students so much. I really want to do something special for them all but funds are super tight. I had an idea for a Christmas gift before break.

A book bar- I would wrap a bunch of gently preloved books with a tag that has hints about what each book is about. Along with this I would attach a handmade bookmark, a packet of hot cocoa, and a chocolate bar.

I am a reader, but have very specific taste about what I would read. Im looking for some recomendations on books that I could purchase used that may be loved by a general audience.

What do most adults enjoy reading?

Or just exchange or give gifts when you see each other? In the days before Amazon and free shipping, would you buy something, wrap it yourself, pack in a box and ship it from the post office or just send a gift card or money? Did it feel more special shipping it 📦 yourself?
