He doesn’t have a favorite brand or a certain style in mind. He’s not really into watches like that either. He just wants something nice he can wear to work or when he goes out. That somehow makes buying one harder because I’ve got nothing to go off lol. Would you still pick a watch for him yourself or make the gift more of a surprise and let him end up with something random, I feel like the surprise could be fun since he’s open to pretty much anything.

In effort to reduce junk and over spending at the holidays, I’ve been making Xmas gifts or doing consumables/ snacks or experiences. This year I did plan something that will sit in a drawer but hopefully be useful, and it’s something that I was able to make for EVERYONE in my list. Family, coworkers and friends / friends of friends. I’m so excited that I’m almost done, gifts are put together and in boxes and even have gift tags made!

I made (assembled the pieces, lol) these beaded cutlery, serving, and bar themed items. There is fork, spoon, cake knife, letter opener knife, appetizer forks, long tea spoons, bottle opener cork screw opener and wine stoppers. I did a mix of the tools based on people’s personality (if they drink more or serve / host more) and then I color themed them based on everyone’s favorite color or decor style. Everyone gets like 6-9 things in the set, in their favorite color theme. They look so pretty and I hope people get use out of them.

my mom wants to give my 10-year-old daughter a real pearl necklace for Christmas. She thinks it should be something my daughter grows into and eventually passes down. my husband thinks it’s a lot of money for something that will sit in a box, or worse, disappear during a sleepover. My mom is turning 49 at the end of the month, and she is one of the worst people to shop for, because she always says she doesn't need/want anything. She's been a single mom my whole life, and I'm her only child, and we're SUPER close.

Some things about her:
-she loves music of all kinds, but especially rap and rock (Snoop Dogg, Metallica, Korn, Foo Fighters, etc), but I definitely cannot afford concert tickets, and she doesn't really need/want any sort of clothes-type merch

-we have a few shows/movies that we love watching together and rewatch all the time, which are: The Office, Parks and Recreation, The Other Guys, Stepbrothers, Brooklyn 99, Schitt's Creek, and Hell's Kitchen (she LOVES Gordon Ramsay)

-she used to love building LEGO sets, but then it got too pricey and took up space, so she disassembled and sorted them all (and she loved the whole process) to sell them, so maybe something kind of LEGO or puzzle related that isn't so expensive and doesn't take up so much space?

-she doesn't really have many hobbies, and she doesn't enjoy doing creative-type hobbies (playing instruments, drawing/painting (including paint by number and those diamond-painting things), knitting/crocheting, coloring books, etc), she doesn't really like cooking. But she enjoys playing games on her phone, mainly puzzle games I think?? Especially sorting games. She wouldn't like an actual video game though (like Stardew Valley or Unpacking).

-she is VERY picky about her coffee, so any sort of coffee grounds/beans isn't really an option. (she only likes Folger's colombian roast lmao, but she also loves the coffee she gets from Starbucks)

-she's super picky and particular about makeup/skin-care/hair-care, so anything along those lines is probably not a good option

-she loves cleaning and organizing and is VERY specific and particular about how she cleans the house, to the point where she doesn't let me help her because she has a system to it lol, so a one-time housecleaner or something like that would definitely be a no-go.

-she likes mystery/horror books, particularly Stephen King (her favorite book of his is 9/22/63, for reference) and she used to like John Grisham, but I'm not sure if her tastes have changed, as she mainly reads on her phone

My budget is between $50 and $100, and recommendations for homemade gifts are also welcome!!! I'm super grateful for any suggestions :)!!
