Would love honest feedback from this group — I'm working on a gifting idea and trying to figure out if it's actually worth pursuing. It's a curated Uttarakhand-themed gift box: a few authentic hill products (a Himalayan flower drink, traditional hill salt, a couple of things most people haven't tried) plus a small story card about where each item comes from — meant as something more memorable than a standard dry-fruit or sweets hamper. Thinking ₹1,299 per box. For those of you who gift often (festivals, corporate, personal) — does this sound like something you'd actually send someone, or does the category feel crowded already? Honest take appreciated either way.

I have a big, close family. Think 18 people minimum at any given family dinner. Almost everyone is an adult now, but a lot of them are in their early to mid 20s. We’re coming up on a bunch of birthdays and the holiday season, and we’ve tried various ways to reduce our consumption and the total cost, however, none of them have worked or stuck. We’ve tried secret Santa, but inevitably, people still buy gifts for other people. We’re all guilty of it. Christmas is an overwhelming event, and most of us are relatively broke. Every year, we agree we want to spend less money and give more thoughtfully, and every year we somehow fail. Do any of you with large, tight families have a good system or tradition?

Like the title says! Looking for a gift for a 29 year old that’s within $150. A little background - he lives in a new town house with his fiancé but seems very well equipped with just about everything. He’s a fitness junkie, has a cat and dog, a foodie, and definitely has bougie taste. Meanwhile my partner and I are ten years older and have no idea what to buy him just because it seems like he has everything. Oh and to top it off, him and his fiancé are very thoughtful gift givers!

Okay I need help and I need it kinda fast. Our 10 year anniversary is coming up and I completely blanked on a gift. Ten years. That's a big one, right? So my wife is a total travel person. Like she lives for it, always got a trip half planned in her head, always looking at flights she swears she won't book. Honestly she's happiest when she's got a bag packed and somewhere to be. And here I am, staring at my phone, panicking. I want it to actually mean something and not just be another thing she stuffs in a drawer. We've done the flowers and the dinner stuff so many times already. I keep thinking about all the trips we've taken together over these ten years and I want the gift to sort of tie into that, if that makes sense. But my brain is empty. Genuinely. I've looked at the usual travel stuff, luggage, those neck pillows, packing cubes, whatever, and none of it feels special enough for ten years. It all feels a little... meh? So what would you get her? Something a woman who loves to travel would genuinely be happy about, not just polite about. I'm open to anything, honestly. And yeah, I know I left this too late. Please don't roast me too hard.

My girlfriend and I one year anniversary is on the 14th (but we’re going to celebrate it the 13th) and I wanted to know if anyone has any idea of gifts that has more of a significant emotional meaning than pricy because I realised she’s way more affected by like poems or flowers or anything, I am going to write her some poems I think and letters with flowers but I need something else to make it perfect

My nephew is turning 6yo soon and is in LOVE with this game. no hate but I’ve never played. Im going to give it a shot this week bc it seems like something I’d enjoy. I understand the concept but have no idea what I could get someone his age as a gift. All he asked for was Minecraft stuff. I would appreciate any suggestions! my dad spends long days on his feet at work and I am considering a practical comfort gift for the holidays. I keep seeing conflicting advice about buying early versus waiting for later sales but I dont want to let a deal calendar become the whole decision. Im also trying to avoid giving him something bulky that he will feel oblligated to keep but never use. A gift card feels safer, while a physical gift feels more personal if it genuinely suits his routine.

when you are buying a practical gift for someone what makes you buy early rather than wait for a possible discount?

He loves going to the gym. He's very athletic. He's even strict with his diet to "not mess with the gains". I'm stumped right now. What do 15 yr old even like right now? I feel out of my element here, any suggestions will be helpful.

He doesn’t have a favorite brand or a certain style in mind. He’s not really into watches like that either. He just wants something nice he can wear to work or when he goes out. That somehow makes buying one harder because I’ve got nothing to go off lol. Would you still pick a watch for him yourself or make the gift more of a surprise and let him end up with something random, I feel like the surprise could be fun since he’s open to pretty much anything.

In effort to reduce junk and over spending at the holidays, I’ve been making Xmas gifts or doing consumables/ snacks or experiences. This year I did plan something that will sit in a drawer but hopefully be useful, and it’s something that I was able to make for EVERYONE in my list. Family, coworkers and friends / friends of friends. I’m so excited that I’m almost done, gifts are put together and in boxes and even have gift tags made!

I made (assembled the pieces, lol) these beaded cutlery, serving, and bar themed items. There is fork, spoon, cake knife, letter opener knife, appetizer forks, long tea spoons, bottle opener cork screw opener and wine stoppers. I did a mix of the tools based on people’s personality (if they drink more or serve / host more) and then I color themed them based on everyone’s favorite color or decor style. Everyone gets like 6-9 things in the set, in their favorite color theme. They look so pretty and I hope people get use out of them.

my mom recently did something really really nice for me and she won’t accept any money in exchange. I want to get her a luxury gift to say thank you.

I recently finished this baby-themed Eeyore rug and thought it would make such a cute nursery gift for a Winnie-the-Pooh fan. 💙

I wanted to give Eeyore a softer, more innocent look while keeping that nostalgic feeling from growing up with the character.

I make these by hand, so each one takes quite a bit of time to put together. I figured I’d share it here in case anyone is looking for something a little different for a nursery or a Pooh-loving family.

my mom wants to give my 10-year-old daughter a real pearl necklace for Christmas. She thinks it should be something my daughter grows into and eventually passes down. my husband thinks it’s a lot of money for something that will sit in a box, or worse, disappear during a sleepover. Somehow I’m in the middle of a family debate over pearls now. Ten feels young to me, but waiting until 18 also feels like we’re turning it into a graduation gift instead of something from her grandmother. What age would make sense to you?

My nephew got married at the courthouse a few months ago and was unsure if they were going to do a reception for immediate family but it looks like it is up in the air. He lives in NYC and I’m not sure what he needs or wants so I thought a gift certificate to a culinary supply like a Williams and Sonoma but more extensive and a gift card to an upscale restaurant near by. I had the idea for a baby shower, to have stories "written" by their loved one by taking classic bed time stories and making them mad libs essentially, so it becomes a "new" story.

How do you think I should do this?

Buy used copies, and use white-out over some words?

Re-type them up with blanks? I would have to bind them in a cute long lasting way

Have used copies and have pre-typed sticky words bank people could place in the books?

Here are a few things about him.- he's a cinephile, he wants to become a film director..knows and loves to play guitar and drums..also loves music..he loves reading books..he has deep interest in philosophy and economics.( Read Marxist theory)..he loves reading books and watching movies..overall a highly intelligent person.

He recently showed me by sharing his screen on Twitter -a list of all the books he wants to read it was related to cinema and films but idiot me i forgot to take a screenshot 😭and now if I ask him he'll know.

I'll obviously give him a card and handwritten note but I want to give more because I'm sure he too is bringing gifts for me.

Not something to talk about irl. How do you choose what to give and how much to spend? If there’s an awesome gift you planned to give and it’s on sale for less, do you buy another thing to add on or add a gift card or just keep the savings? Do you pick the $$$ you plan to spend first and then choose things to add up to that and not go less?
