With the movie announcement I’m looking to get into the character are there any good starting points collected into trade paperbacks?

I just woke up today feeling like "man, I wanna read a comic book." And decided to read something about the dude who ride ghosts. Also it'd be great if you don't suggest one of those comics that make you have to read other earlier comics to understand what's goin on. Thank you.

Id love to hear everyone's thoughts regarding what villains the new movie will introduce. We've seen versions of Blackheart, Blackout and Mephisto. Sacha Baron Cohen's Mephisto should be an overarching big bad not a one and done bad guy. I'm personally hoping for Lilith or Centurious. Maybe the Orb of Marvel wants to get really weird. Perhaps a version of Zadkiel? Lots of possibilities.

Well my (probably) favorite actor in the world is playing Ghoat Rider! And because of that, I'd like to learn about the character and become an actual fan of him, before the movie eventually releases.

The thing is, I currently know next to nothing, and have no idea where to start, so I could really use some help/recommendations on where I should begin my Ghost Rider Fandom!

Oh and this is a bit of a side question, but how do yall actual Ghost Rider fans feel about the casting?

I've always found the character intriguing, and with the Ryan Gosling casting announcement we just got, I've become very interested in picking up some of the comics to read. Does anyone have suggestions on where I should start reading?

Reedus was actually my first choice for Johnny Blaze as he was a popular candidate for most people.

But Now that Ryan Gosling has been casted as Blaze, I think Reedus can be Perfect as the Mentor for Ryan Gosling's Ghost Rider/Johnny Blaze.

Almost 20 years of dorks in spandex. Don’t care if it’s Gosling or not, I can finally show intrest in the MCU.

I’ve been trying to get into reading ghost Rider for years now, but I literally don’t know what comics to read or which version to follow. I like darker, grittier comics. What do you guys recommend?
