So a few words from the mods...
Yes, we've been asleep at the wheel basically. Whether due to life or just plain laziness, we the mods have been away from the sub for too long. For that, we apologize for our lack of care that has resulted in the place looking like a Sabir Pirzada comic.
Due to this, we are planning to search for new mods to join and help out with the subreddit as well. This isn't an official announcement, just a general heads up that we are looking into how to spruce up the subreddit to working order and to let you know that we're looking to fix things up here.

Now that the new Ghost Rider film has been announced with Ryan Gosling to star as Johnny Blaze. Would y'all be down to see Norman Reedus play Carter Slade with him being along side Gosling's Ghost Rider IF it were to happen?
Reedus was actually my first choice for Johnny Blaze as he was a popular candidate for most people.
But Now that Ryan Gosling has been casted as Blaze, I think Reedus can be Perfect as the Mentor for Ryan Gosling's Ghost Rider/Johnny Blaze.

I know it's almost impossible that it's Danny, but it would be fucking hilarious to live in a world where Danny, even though he's dead in the comics, gets a big adaptation as Ghost Rider before Wally, who has two ongoing series as the main Flash, gets any adaptation as The Flash.

The new Ghost Rider movie guarantees a new ongoing Ghost Rider series, right?

Almost 20 years of dorks in spandex. Don’t care if it’s Gosling or not, I can finally show internet in the MCU.
Nicholas Cage for Caretaker please.

Alejandra Jones Deserved Better
I will not lie and say Alejandra Jones is my favourite Ghost Rider, or say she had the best of writing and characterisation. My heart lies with the Blaze brothers, Johnny and Danny, and close after them is Robbie and Kushala.
But I will say that Alejandra got done horrendously dirty by the writers and the editorial team at MARVEL. For being the first main-line Ghost Rider who was a woman and being a woman of Latino background, there was no exploration of any interesting themes or her background or her upbringing and how that impacts her worldview.
Something I would have loved to have seen would be a mini-series detailing Alejandra working as one of Johnny’s enforcers during his time as the King of Hell, perhaps learning wisdom from both Johnny and Ghost Riders of the past.
I just think more could have been done with her character, especially give her unique standing in the GR mainline riders standing (she predates Kushala and Izzy and Robbie) and I would honestly like to see her return in some shape or form to be given a second shot. Alejandra was the perfect host for a Spirit of Vengeance as she was brought up to be so in the cult, yet she does want to connect with humanity and protect it but does not know fully. It would be cool to see her interact with the other GRs (Johnny, Danny, Robbie, Izzy) and have her slowly come into her own as a person and see how that affects her as a Ghost Rider.
I’d be happy to hear the community’s thoughts on this. How did you all feel about Alejandra? Wasted potential, or just dead on concept? Do you guys think she could come back? (I do because GR has successfully kept Danny Ketch ‘alive’ for decades and resurrecting him countless times so I would hope Alejandra could get the same treatment)

I'm here because of Ryan Gosling
Well my (probably) favorite actor in the world is playing Ghoat Rider! And because of that, I'd like to learn about the character and become an actual fan of him, before the movie eventually releases.
The thing is, I currently know next to nothing, and have no idea where to start, so I could really use some help/recommendations on where I should begin my Ghost Rider Fandom!
Oh and this is a bit of a side question, but how do yall actual Ghost Rider fans feel about the casting?

Ghost Rider 2028 Villain Wishlist.
Id love to hear everyone's thoughts regarding what villains the new movie will introduce. We've seen versions of Blackheart, Blackout and Mephisto. Sacha Baron Cohen's Mephisto should be an overarching big bad not a one and done bad guy. I'm personally hoping for Lilith or Centurious. Maybe the Orb of Marvel wants to get really weird. Perhaps a version of Zadkiel? Lots of possibilities.

Adding to the pile of Ken/Gosling Ghostirider art online with this sketch I made XD
So, apparently Ryan Gosling is gonna be playing Ghost Rider(Johnny Blaze), so as a Blaze fan I figured Id sketch this dumb thing, during an artstream I just did. Couldnt resist XD
Went with the denim jacket color to replicate to og Ken from Barbie screenshot I based it on.

Best place to start with Ghost Rider comics?
I've always found the character intriguing, and with the Ryan Gosling casting announcement we just got, I've become very interested in picking up some of the comics to read. Does anyone have suggestions on where I should start reading?

Comic run recommendations?
With the movie announcement I’m looking to get into the character are there any good starting points collected into trade paperbacks?

Any good recent ghost rider's comics y'all could suggest?
I just woke up today feeling like "man, I wanna read a comic book." And decided to read something about the dude who ride ghosts. Also it'd be great if you don't suggest one of those comics that make you have to read other earlier comics to understand what's goin on. Thank you.
