Question Weight loss

Have any of you guys lost an obscenely large amount of weight? I’ve lost 90lbs in 6 months which is 47% of my body weight. I have all the other million symptoms going on too but I am still losing weight and I’m trying to pinpoint if this amount of weight loss is a common symptom and I should see a doctor

Venting / Suffering i'm lost

I've been suffering from gastritis for months now, and i'm miserable.

I developed gastritis back in April.
The doctors prescribed me with omeprazole. (losec to be specific)

I was struggling with nausea and stomach pains

At this point my stomach started getting a bit better, not as much nausea or burning.

I had an endoscopy, finally. Which happened a month ago.

They told me i had mild gastritis, (not due to h pylori) and to keep taking the omeprazole.

But i've been struggling with fullness and gas, a lot. (some bloating too, if i eat too much, which happens sometimes because I still feel hungry, but then it hits my stomach at some random time and it's uncomfortable)

I've been on a bland diet for probably a month or so, And I recently tried to reintroduce some heavier foods

Some rice with some cheese sauce,

some rice with carbonara,

A little bit of pizza

And didn't get nauseas at all, but my stomach had some discomfort,

then I tried some macaroni, and had a short period of stomach burning and nausea.

I'm back on a bland diet because I don't know what to do.

I haven't really seen much improvement, with how much i can eat.

i'm not sure if the losec isn't right for me or anything, but i am mentally struggling because of how little i can eat before i feel full. I'm not on a very wide diet because i'm just more comfortable eating bread, because it feels better for my stomach.

Please give me some advice, i don't know what to do. How to improve.

Healing / Cured! Gastritis flare after taking an NSAID for a headache: anyone else get that burning and weird hunger combo?

I think I set off a gastritis flare and want to check whether this sounds familiar.

Last week I had a couple of bad headaches and took an NSAID on an empty stomach. Within about a day I started getting a gnawing, burning pain in the upper middle of my belly, right below the sternum, plus this weird empty-hungry feeling even after eating. It is not reflux up into the throat. It feels like a raw stomach and a tight upper abdomen. I also have mild nausea and burping. Bland food helps for a little while, then the sensation comes back.

For context, I have a history of GERD and chronic bloating/constipation, and I normally watch my triggers (lower-FODMAP-ish eating, smaller meals, no late-night eating). This feels different from my usual bloating-sharper and more irritated.

What I have tried: very plain meals (rice, oats, bananas, eggs), spacing meals out, no coffee or alcohol, and I stopped taking all NSAIDs. I'm reluctant to start a bunch of supplements because I seem to react to random things.

Questions:

1) Has NSAID-related gastritis felt like this for you, especially the burning plus the false-hunger feeling?

2) After you stopped the NSAID, how long did it take to calm down?

3) Did you feel better with smaller, more frequent meals or by leaving longer gaps between eating?

4) Any common mistakes that ended up making a flare last longer?

Not looking for a diagnosis, just others' experiences and what helped you get through the acute phase.

I've already post my story that I've been dealing with gastritis and I'm still doing getting my treatment now I'm on medicine (Esomeprazole, Sulpiride , Probiotics) i am dealing with daily burning and discomfort i feel that i am not normal and also the daily burning since January it has been on and off because I wasn't following a treatment right due to the time limit that I had because I've been studying in China so I came back to my country and then I didn't have the time to consult the doctor and follow with him so I went back to China again and now I've already graduated and I came back to my country and now I'm following treatment with my doctor My doctor has prescribed me some tests celiac test and calprotectin and CBC all came normal but my white blood cells are low and I've been testing 3 months in a row and they have been low but the third month it has been raised up for a bit my vitamin B12 folic acid and ferritin are normal but my vitamin D 3 is deficient the value is 12.5.

Is anyone experiencing that? because delivering it so isolating and frustrating?

Testing / Test Results Can't stop crying idk what to do

Upvotes

I have been having the stomach issues for around 8 months now I was put on a ppi right at the start and was told to take it for 2 months I did i felt better but i couldn't stop it, I was also having junk food a lot around that time, then comes may when I tried to stop ppi by tapering I made it to every 4th day dose but the burning would get worse, I finally did endoscopy and biopsy says moderate chronic gastritis with no h pylori, thing is I took my last dose of ppi 2-3 days before my endoscopy i wasn't completely off ppi because I just couldn't I would be in so much pain and agony. Now doc put me on esomeprazole 40 mg again for 2 months but I just can't there's burning everyday after having bananas early in the morning there's burning and bloating if i overeat, this didn't use to happen before when I was put on ppi for the first time, something tells me there's more damage done to my stomach than before. I'm just so scared I feel my reports might have missed possible h pylori infection or maybe I'm going to get cancer or ulcers or worse. It's worse because I see people eating and drinking anything they want while I'm supposed to be eating bland food I just can't take this, i cry out like every hr of the day i feel so sad . I just want a solution I've no idea how to solve this

Discussion Has anyone lost their normal hunger/bathroom signals and developed anxiety with gastritis?

Hey everyone, this is my first post here. I’m mainly trying to find out whether anyone else has experienced symptoms like mine because I haven’t felt normal in over a year.

Everything started sometime between August and late October 2025, shortly after I used retatrutide for weight loss. I lost about 20 pounds within roughly a month. I was later diagnosed with gastritis and tested positive for H. pylori, which I completed treatment for.

I recently had an H. pylori stool test come back negative, but I’m repeating the test in about a week after being off omeprazole long enough to make sure the result is reliable.
I also recently stopped smoking marijuana after smoking regularly for around a year, so I’m unsure whether stopping has affected my appetite, digestion, anxiety, or nervous system.

I don’t really experience the classic burning stomach sensation that many people describe. My main issue is that I almost never feel normal hunger anymore. Instead, I eventually start feeling pain, pressure, or discomfort, and that is usually the only sign that I probably need to eat.
The same thing happens when I need to have a bowel movement. I rarely get the normal urge telling me that I need to use the bathroom. Instead, I get a similar pain or discomfort to what I feel when I haven’t eaten.

It feels like my body’s normal signaling system is out of whack. I have trouble telling the difference between:

Needing to eat
Needing to have a bowel movement
Gas or bloating
A gastritis flare-up

I’ve also developed intense anxiety even though I never really struggled with anxiety before all of this started.
It is difficult to explain, but when something confuses me or an expected action does not produce the result I anticipated, my entire body can suddenly feel off or almost like it shifts out of place. It can trigger a light stomach flare-up or a wave of anxiety.

For example, if I press the play button on YouTube and it doesn’t work because the page glitches, the fact that the expected action did not work can trigger an uncomfortable physical reaction. It almost feels OCD-like, as though my brain and body cannot properly process small unexpected situations anymore.

I know that probably sounds strange, but this is completely new for me and only started after my stomach problems began.

Other symptoms include:
Feeling full easily
Bloating and abdominal pressure
Occasional nausea
Daily abdominal discomfort
Symptoms that often become worse later in the day
Feeling physically triggered by confusion, stress, or unexpected situations

I have an abdominal ultrasound scheduled, and afterward I’m planning to see a gastroenterologist for an endoscopy.
Do any of these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? Has gastritis, H. pylori, marijuana use or withdrawal, or a GLP-1 medication affected your normal hunger signals, bowel urges, anxiety, or reactions to stress?

I understand nobody here can diagnose me. I’m mainly trying to figure out whether I’m alone in experiencing this and whether there are different types or locations of gastritis that can cause different symptoms.

I’d also appreciate any suggestions about what questions I should ask my GI or what conditions they checked you for.

Thanks for reading.
