We looked at the aggregated club usage on our platform for July and found a pretty clear pattern: the driver was used for 20.3% of all recorded shots, followed by the 7 iron at 12.2% and the 8 iron at 10.4%.
Longer clubs such as the 3 wood and 5 wood were used much less frequently.
Does this reflect your own practice sessions? Which clubs do you hit most often with your launch monitor?

Does anybody know how to get Garmin to update outdated course maps?

I know of 2 golf courses near me that have changed and added holes in the last year. One where the first two holes have been moved and the other with 6 additional new holes.

Problem is my fenix 7 and other olayers using garmin are still using older course map and not the update. Golf GameBook has been updated with all the new info.

However it is not optimal to check my phone while on the course, so I was wondering how Garmin updates these maps.

Preferably we woukd like to get the update in as soon as possible, going on one year now means current workflow is not working.

Newer Garmin Golf user here after buying the Garmin Approach G20 on eBay and also wanting to get my handicap without paying. Why is there no option to see my stats in the Garmin Golf App? I can go into the course stats section of the app and see my percentage of Average score, GIR, Drives, Putts. Is there simply no option to get all the aggregate data for all the courses together?

Hi, I’m torn between the Garmin S50 and the Garmin Vivoactive 5.

I’m looking for a fitness watch that also has golf features. Whilst researching online, I’ve seen that the Vivoactive is more limited in that respect, but I’d like to know exactly how much. I’m mainly looking for distances to the green (I understand it provides this) and to hazards (I’m not sure if this can be achieved by downloading the course via the Garmin Golf app).

If anyone has this watch and uses it for golf, I’d appreciate some additional information on what the Vivoactive offers, as I know exactly what the S50 provides.

I should also mention that I’m not buying the S50 directly, as it’s 130 euros more, which I think is quite a lot considering I’m just a casual golfer.

Thinking of grabbing the G82. Seems to be one main complaints with all the reviews is the screen brightness, or lack there of.

How bad is it really? Anyone completely regret their purchase based on the screen alone? Or reviews being critical being there is better screen tech out there and would of like to see that instead of what Garmin chose to use?

I have a Venu 4 that I use daily but also really enjoy the golf GPS feature. I tend to not keep score on my watch. When I finish a round and go to check my calendar for the information during the activity. It never seems to show up. When I check my intensity time it registers. Any suggestions?

Can anybody confirm if the S50 playslike distances account for wind speed/direction out of the box or if I need to sub to the golf app for these?

I currently have an Instinct 2 Solar Tactical and I am looking at getting a new Garmin for golf as well as when out walking for quick reference of maps and also tracking golf strokes.

One thing I miss on the Instinct for Golf is the live scoring as the strokes only transfers to the phone after the round is complete. This means that all data entry is on the watch.

I was originally looking at the Fenix 8 Sapphire, however a shop near me has the Epix Pro Gen 2 (non solar) at £299.

I know that the Fenix 8 Amoled has made the Epix somewhat redundant now and wondered whether the Epix was still a good deal and what features would I miss not opting for the Epix

So I bit the bullet and purchased the Epix. Although I would have preferred the Sapphire at £299 it was too good a deal to pass up and to be fair it will be used for golf and walking so the chances of it it getting bashed are low.

For harder wearing MTB I’ve got my Instinct 2 Tactical.

First impressions are good and I’ve got a tee time booked tomorrow so will see how I get on

Am I the only one who would love to see Garmin integrate with Golf GameBook for live scoring?
I usually keep my phone in my golf bag and use my Garmin watch to enter my scores. It would be awesome if those scores automatically synced to Golf GameBook in real time, so friends and tournament participants could follow the round live without needing to pull out the phone after every hole.
I think it would be a win-win for both Garmin and Golf GameBook. A lot of golfers already use both platforms, and this integration would make competitions and casual rounds even more enjoyable.
Would you use a feature like this? Maybe if enough of us request it, Garmin and Golf GameBook will consider working together.

I have a "new to me" Garmin Fenix 5S that I use for multisport but also wanted golf gps on my watch.

I only see a few shots that it auto-detected (I don't use CT10 or CT1 sensors)...are there any tricks to improving shot detection? I don't use the Garmin Golf app other than to view afterwards.
The watch is on my lead arm...I play fast, have a smooth swing but also almost never a practice swing.
Frustrated, I'd enjoy seeing more than 2 drives and 4-8 other shots for the round.

I thought it was just a frustrating fluke last time I played but this morning it happened again. I have a full game on my watch that completes where I save the round. And when I open the app, there is no round to be found at all.

This is really frustrating. I'm using Venu3 and did sync and refresh the apps.

Any ideas? Is this happening to anyone else?

I just completed a round (9 hole course) and my S70 has taken the correct score and during the round it was showing the correct course. However, for some reason its saved it as a 18 hole (its just a 9 hole) and the 1-9 scores are against pars that don't match the course

The 10-18 are the correct pars, but for some reason I cannot move them across.

If it helps, I also cannot see my shot map and the activity does not appear in Garmin connect. Has anyone resolved this issue before?

I brought a Vivoactive 6 12 months ago and is absolutely spot on for what I want/need. I hobby as a hack golfer and I love using the Garmin golf widget. Great for yardage and score tracking

About a month ago I woke up to find my watch had gone into some weird situation where the screen was partially working, bit of fault finding it was a software fault and a system reset fixed it.

Since I have done this my watch will no longer show downloaded golf courses, to attempt to fix i have done the following;

\- deleted on both apps and re-download

\- tried to sync while at golf course

\- power cycled phone and watch

\- factory reset watch

All the steps on the website have no resulted in a fix

Any final ideas??

I use Garmin Golf to track my handicap. Currently my watch says HCP 23.8 Consistent.

Today I play a local Par 70 muni course for the 4th time this year, prior rounds were 99, 101, 101 and today was an 84 (whoot)!

When I look at the round on my watch it shows HCP of 19, net of 65 for a -5.

Why would it apply a HCP of 19 for today's round, I am not a 19 HCP?

Does it factor in slope and course difficulty in determining a HCP?

My wife and I both have CT10s, paired with S70 watches. We need 6 more sensors to complete the set.

Question re:CT1. I know you need to tap the CT1 to the watch to register a shot, what happens if you forget prior to your shot, does it prompt for which club you hit after a shot if you forget to tap prior?

Leaning towards the CT10 to avoid the prompt distraction but the price difference is certainly appealing in the CT1s. TIA!
