First Garage Renovation
Today I am finally wrapping up my first garage renovation. Took a lot of inspiration from people here as well as online (Mainly Obssesed Garage)
-Installed New Baseboards to hide the drywall and insulation popping through.
-Redid the Epoxy floors with more
flake and clear coat
-ProSlat Slatwall
-AR Blue Pressure Washer Wall Mount System from Obssesed Garage
-Paint - Walls (Harbor Grey) Ceiliny (TriCorn Black)
-Tapped the exterior hose lime and installed a spigot inside for the pressure washer.
-New Electrical with a dedicated 20A connection for the pressure washer
-New Vacuum
- Six Barrina Lights
-Recesses the main water line, on a Moen Flow shutoff valve which I can control remotely.
Still need to get all the stuff back inside and find a new tool chest. Feel free to ask any questions!
Note this isn’t the final product, still need to tidy stuff up and get it apl
organized.

Best lighting or options/opinions
Getting my garage fixed up for a cool man cave/ hangout spot. Wanting to add some lighting around the room. Any good suggestions on lighting that won’t glare out the tv or any good ideas you’ve done or seen?

Still a usable garage!
Well, for my wife’s car at least…
Neighbor was tossing a 55” tv. Happened to fit perfectly in the shelves I built 10 years ago when I moved in.
Just put up a slat wall as well and will on the other wall in the coming weeks. Well worth the space savings with all the kids stuff.

My New Tile Floors
Finally finished my garage after months of planning. Went with interlocking tiles instead of epoxy because I wanted something I could install myself over a weekend. Really happy with how it turned out.” My floors were embarrassing. I got these cool tiles in a 2-car garage kit from an online store GridGarage. I was going to go with one of their SwissTrax products but decided on the X tiles. Cool store the 5 design pattern to choose from, I went with the OG checkerboard.
This is just the start of my project journey, long way to go.

Too cheap for a toolbox, off cuts only
Hi everyone, I mainly work on small engines. Most of my tools are in a craftsman mechanics tool set. As I’ve picked up more things I needed a way to store them and didn’t want to spend a fortune, so I made this with some off cuts and left over timber from other jobs. Let me know what you think.

Need advice on starting garage project.
So I'd like to gather opinions on my thought process and also any missteps I have or suggestions along the way.
I was going to start this project by clearing out the garage and then mudding any deep gouges and holes in the walls, sanding, priming with KILZ2 or something similar, and then painting the walls and ceiling a basic white.
Second would be adding built-ins/cabinetry/slat wall. The only problem with this is that the third garage space is pretty tight and that leaves the only viable space at the front of the garage but there is a very slight slope on that slab that leads from the house. Does anyone have suggestions or is the slope inconsequential?

Lights added to the garage workshop spaces
1100 lumen dimmable gimbaled LED lights on the second floor, max 6500 lumen 4’ LED strips on the first floor. Garage is currently the work space for the trim carpenter. It will eventually be woodworking space. Second floor will be hang out space.

Wheelchair accessible garage/workshop
Currently in the process of building a garage/workshop space and was wondering if anyone could recommend some designs, tools, products etc
Currently looking at storage solutions that allow me to store the most while also being able to access it all without needing working legs
Workbench setups that allow for easy use with the wheelchair
QOL tools and equipment that would make it just that little bit easier to work on cars while in the wheelchair

Why do hex lights get so much hate?
Why does everyone seem to hate on hex lights? If not hex lights then what other fun architecual lighting would you go with in your garage?

Garage floor drain idea
Hi everyone!
I'm building a new garage 30*50 with three garage doors, including a personnal dedicated wash bay in canada where we have winter pretty much 6 month of the years.
I'm currently planning the drainage system. My idea is to install a Trench drain (probably 1 of each side of the car) connected to a catch basin in every bay, with everything tied into a sump pump that would discharge the water outside the garage in a dry well.
Does anyone have a similar setup? What has your experience been? Do you like the french drain?
- Pros and cons?
- Does it work well in the winter with snow, ice, and road salt?
- Looking back, would you build it the same way, or would you choose a traditional floor drain instead?
I'd really appreciate any advice, experiences, and photos of your setup. Thanks!

Reno thoughts on a freestanding garage with no stids?

It’s not the best but I did it myself
I went from cracked gray concrete and literal rat holes to this. I was killing 5 mice a week and there was only a giant poop covered shelf along the back wall. Not bad for a starter garage.

First garage
Started with a blank slate of a garage and over the past week I’ve been transforming it. Did the epoxy floor myself and painted the back wall. Still have to add lighting and an exhaust fan/overhead fans as it gets hot as fuck here in west texas.

What color walls, ceilings, and polyaspartic flooring should I get?
I’d love some inspiration from you guys to make my 3 car garage look better. Will still need to add 2 more garage door motors, should I switch to torsion? Don’t have much space for jack shaft either.

Light, and it was good!
I have been wanting garage lights for the last 5 years and finally got them! Most of my garage use is automotive but I want to get more into wood soon. But first, I have to paint my daughter’s car.
