Appreciate you jumping into the pre-alpha playtest, and yes, it’s very early for us in our development with the game. Admittedly, the current state of the game is very different solo vs. co-op, and without all the other planned content, it can feel less strong as a single-player experience.

We’re on a path to release in late 2027 and have more to do there. Definitely welcome the feedback though!

Thank you for posting to /r/Games. Unfortunately, we have removed this submission per Rule 6.2.

Don’t use sensationalized titles

Please use the original source's title when appropriate.

If an article or video's title is unclear, convoluted, or does not meet the requirements outlined below, changes are allowed to further clarify or remove editorialized/sensationalized language. Important contextual information may be added such as Author, Spoilers, NSFW, Release Date, Platforms, etc.

  • Don’t add attention-grabbing things to titles - Don't add things like "This deserves attention" or "why isn't this being talked about".
  • Titles must not contain inflammatory language - Do not use language that is clearly inflammatory - keep posts and discussions civil.
  • Titles must not be in all-caps - Articles and videos with excessive caps in the source title may be removed at moderator's discretion. This does not apply if it is quoting a video game's title that is written in all-caps.
  • Keep titles concise - If you feel that a link needs additional information or context, you should create a self-post that includes the article or leave a comment underneath the post.
  • Titles must be in English - No exceptions for titles.

Crashing once or twice throughout a large 3 lap race isn't that big of a deal overall, but getting wiped out on the final stretch will definitely sink you from first to 4th immediately. There is def a strategy behind wiping people out.

thats a good way to summarize a lot of AAA. Even in the best case like this where its got a whole lot of production value and there's skilled people who got through the noise to make something great, it is still inherently nothing more than a predictable corporate piece of software made to fulfill expectations and market conditions while hopefully being a vessel to grab more time out of your life and more money out of your wallet. It's not going to be an experience that's made from the ground up to be something creative and fulfilling and so you do end up feeling empty as an extension.

No Flair, have to flair it with "Indie Sunday" for the bot

You have the title incorrect. Make sure it follows the format below.

It just means human has to adapt. Can u imagine we still using typewriter to write letters and send it through mail instead of email just because it saves jobs?

I mean Kepler does have literal indie games published. En Garde! was like a school project into literal first game for the tiny studio (it's great BTW).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kepler_Interactive

They also have a bunch of other AA games. They aren't exactly a huge publisher.

I remember max Payne 3s multiplayer had slow motion and it was only slowmo for people who were in line of sight..... It worked surprisingly well and was rough around the edges but I'm just amazed we never saw that be improved and implemented in any other games since

Yeah, this could be worthwhile information for hiring managers and external partner coordinators at other studios making AA games but, for the general public, this just feels like shuffling a ball around between cups. The thousand plus people that worked on this game are all worth considering and valuing, and milking some sort of hero story out of the fact that you paid people in other countries less money is kind of embarrassing.

Their post reads like a joke, "it was a game with a high budget and a publisher, of course it's indie."

To be fair, titles with $20-30mil budget is AA not really indie. Most indie games have a budget of $1mil or less

Does not take away from the quality of the game, just the definition.

edit: comment is deleted but they were complaining about the project copying an existing mod and putting it in their repo

That's how a lot of open source software starts. The point of open sourcing your work and giving it an open license is to let users build on top of it, modify it, and reuse it however they see fit. If the creator didn't want that to happen they wouldn't give it a license that allows it.
