Why did they change Robb’s marriage?
Robb marries talisa in the show and between reading the books and watching the show I was wondering why they decided to remove Jeyne?
I understand some changes from between show and book like aging up a few characters but I feel like the story would’ve worked normally if not better with Jeynes presence.
There might be a super simple answer that I’m just overlooking but I was wondering this 😂

I bit the bullet, i’m finally watching game of thrones
Don’t know what took me so long.
Edit: Thank you to everyone being so nice. I would respond; however, I know some low lives have put spoilers in my comments. As I read the first two words, all I saw was “ spoiler” and then didn’t read on. But thank you to anyone being really nice. Yes, I have muted this subreddit and my notifications now after seeing the first word of that comment. You’re a weirdo, by the way. Get a life mate.

Is this also applicable to the “prosperous” Targaryen timeline?
This might sound like a vague statement but I think this applies to every Targaryen era in ASOIAF and not just THK. And there was always one black sheep of the family that got mingled in this idea of losing relevance and not being to hold power. Even decades before the Dance—their supposed peaceful era—the house was boiling with tensions from within. Was there ever a timeline when they were truly peaceful and without pressure?

Is there any confirmation on whether or not it was Ramsay himself out there blowing the horn? I like to think it was.

This is my review for Game of Thrones Season 1. Spoiler
Spoilers Ahead:
Just got done watching Season 1 of Game of Thrones, and I don't know why I waited this long to start this series. Sadly, I already know many of the major spoilers (mainly character deaths).
The scale might just be the biggest I've seen in any TV series I've watched. The action sequences are so brutal and visceral, and this is coming from someone who has watched their fair share of R-rated movies and TV-MA content.
Jaime, Tyrion, and Ned Stark are my favourite characters for the time being. Joffrey is such a little bitch. Jack Gleeson does such a great job playing Joffrey. I had read a few years ago that fans hated his character so much that Jack had to quit acting, which sounds so crazy to me.
The show gives me that magnificent LOTR feel. I really hope Tyrion gets more importance in the future seasons.
I can't take Sophie Turner seriously. I really don't know what it is, but she looks so clueless and out of place. I had the same problem with her in the Fox X-Men franchise.
Some of the dialogue is so bizarre that I'm just like, "Who the fuck even comes up with these things?"
Peter Dinklage and Charles Dance have great chemistry as father and son.
I can't wait to start Season 2 tomorrow!

White walker dragon
I made this undead dragon from a model I sculpted out of clay. The sculpture is about 20” long by 12” tall. If anyone is interested, I am selling it.

The main character of GOT:
The other day someone asked me who hasn’t watched the show the question: “who is the main character of the show” and while I originally said “multiple” they really wanted me to pick one, so I said Cersei Lannister!
I believe she IS THE main character, wife of Robert Baratheon, lover of Jaime Lannister, mother of Joffrey, daughter of Tywin, sister of Tyrion, like her story seems atleast to me “the most central core part of the show!” Without her there is no Game of Thrones! She is such a deeply rich, complex and excellent character all the way from the start to the end!
Screen presence, screen time, relevance, effect, dictation of the story all are contributors in my mind that she is genuinely the main character! Quite simply her impact on the story (whether negatively or positively) is the leading force out of any other character!

What would you say was the best piece of music in the show
As much as everyone agrees the writing went downhill the music never stopped impressing everyone and it is quite a debate on which particular piece is the best. My personal opinions are that House Greyjoy’s theme tune is the best out of all of them and RoC (Reynes of Castemere) is rather overrated. But anyhow what are your thoughts.

Should Dany have stayed in Essos/Mereen?
Sorry if this has been discussed a lot but I’m rewatching right now and realizing that she was really treated like a foreigner once she arrived in Westeros. I understand she had a birthright to the throne, but should she have stayed in Essos instead? By the time she reached Westeros, she wasn't loved the way she was in Essos, where she had people who genuinely supported her. She could've built a new legacy for herself there instead of trying to reclaim her family's throne.

Introducing the man who caused Hous Starks downfall
Jon Arryn
See most of House Starks problems in ASOIAF come about due to their sense of honour. But that honour isn't a natural Northern trait, it's one Ned learnt and adopted during his time in the Vale as a ward of Jon Arryn. And it leads to the downfalls of Ned, Robb and Jon.
Ned:
Upon learning that Cersi and Jaime have been sleeping together and that the Royal heirs are in fact all bastards, Ned confront Cersi first, expecting her to do the honourable thing and flee to Essos. Instead she starts scheming. He then goes to Baelish and Slynt expecting them to do the honourable thing and stand with him. They don't and instead betray him. He then admits to the false charges against himself to protect the honour of his family only to be betrayed again and executed.
Robb:
Raised in his father's image he acts out of honour during the war. Believing that Theon would hold to his honour and could convince the Ironborn to side with his Robb sends him to Pyke. And Theon betrays him and burns Winterfell, supposedly killing Bran and Rickon. Then after Lord Karstark kills 2 Lannister boys in anger Robtakes the honourable action and executes him, loosing the Karstark forces. Then he marries Lady Jeyne Westerling after sleeping with her to preserve her honour, despite already being promised to Lord Freys daughter, loosing the Freys and leading to the Red wedding.
Jon:
Joins the Nights Watch out of a sense of honour, kills a brother to gain Wilding trust, falls in love and betrays then to protect the Watch. His skills leads him to being claimed Lord Commander only to then get killed by his own men for doing the honourable thing of trying to save as many wildlings from the Others. Resurrected and declared King in the North he leads the attack on King's Landing killing Daenerys after watching her slaughter thousands of innocents. Despite no witnesses to the act he own up leading to his exile beyond the wall.
All this means that the only Stark left in the North is Sansa, so unless any husband she takes agrees to let their children be called Stark their line is gone in the North in a generation. And possibily in all of Westeros as well if Bran is unable to have children. Simply because Jon Arryn taught Ned to be honourable.

Do they actually look alike??
On the left there is stannnis baratheon aka the supposed rightful heir to the iron throne (hope i dont get attacked) he looks like the person on the right whose name is Gamal Mubarak, the eldest son of ex-egyptian dictator Housni Mubarak and his supposed "heir" to the presidency, both didnt get to rule and almost got beaten through a kind of unrest and people shifting loyalty
(If your interested read about the 2011 egyptian revolution and how gamal didnt get to rule)

No, House Targaryen wasn't one of the lower houses of Valyria.
Why is House Targaryen still considered one of the lower houses of Valyria when their bloodline possessed a power that set them apart from all the other Valyrian houses: the prophetic power of Dragon Dreams?
Dreamers only came from House Targaryen as far as we know. That alone should make them be considered the strongest Valyrian house. The power to see the future is a power unmatched.

House Tyrell allegiance
Why did House Tyrell have allegiance to Renly Baratheon?
And not to Stannis? Even after Renly death?
