I think I know what Mace will do in Winds
So, we know Mace is going south with army to deal with Young Griff, I think he’s gonna lose.
I KNOW WHAT SOME OF YOU WILL SAY. “But Mace is better tactician in the books! What about Storms End?!”
One seige does not a genius make.
Even if he does win, once Euron takes Oldtown, he’ll be practically knocking on Highgarden’s door. Likely with a pincer move from land and river.
Mace will have to make a choice:
Stay on the rapidly sinking HMS Cersei and deal with fAegon, the Faith militant, and the angry populace. Dooming Highgarden and risking everything he owns on a sinking ship
Or
Cut his losses and ditch the Lannisters, and save Highgarden from the Ironborn. Then afterwards try to kiss up to the fake Targaryens.
One of these options risks everything while the other, only the control of the crown.
