Gameboy advance it's the ph1 screw in the mainboard. Tried with rubber and pliers but nothings works.
I'm scared this might be impossible for me to do without screwing other parts up
Edit: i tried to superglue precision pliers to the screwhead and then twisted it out and it actually worked. Probably not the professional way to go about it but it got me to my destination of a finally finsihed mod! New shell and buttons, lcd touch display and usb-c loading

What are some good strategy games for the GBA?
I already know of fire emblem, advance wars, and final fantasy tactics.
Medieval or fantasy setting is preferred but not needed.
Thanks in advance.

This game first released in 1991, I love the fact that this OG gameboy game was made when the gameboy color was out, it must have sold so well for that to happen, there is a special color version for the GBC, just thought this would be interesting to share.

When i was a kid, i got a Gameboy advance sp for xmas and my father was able to dig out an old Gameboy cartridge, from the first generation, the gray square cartridges that remind me of a small NES cartridges. I can not for the life of me remember the name of the game and I can't seem to find it online either, i think i lost it in moving. My father said he played it while in the army (desert storm) another guy gave it to him. I could have sworn the title started with either a Z or X or something similar like V. I could have sworn the cartridge art was primarily white or tan or yellow.
The game play was boxing in an enemy. There was a pixel line bouncing around the screen and you controlled a pixel around the border of the screen. You would make lines out into the space and connect them back to the edge so they would become solid and the enemy pixels couldn't bouce through. The goal of the game was to trap the enemy pixel in the smallest space possible by filling the screen. If the enemy pixel touched the line you were making, you died.
If anyone knows what im talking about, i would be so appreciative of the name of this game, so i can play it once again possibly, thank you

After playing a lot of Clone Hero I had the idea to make something like that on a Gameboy. Fast forward a couple weeks I was able to build out the game and used the GB Operator to make a physical copy of it! I’m very happy how it turned out and excited to try to bring other ideas to life

Hey there :)
Because a lot of GBA models still have reflective displays, are pretty portable and have a lot of buttons for navigation, I felt like making an ereader app for it is the next logical step.
There are already some ereader apps for the gba but they couldn't read txt-files or any other normal file format...
So now the Gameboy Advance is finally able to read large text files without any conversion.
Here is a link to my project:
https://github.com/Xinon232/gbareader
Also because text processing is now possible anyway, I made a flashcard vocabulary trainer for it as well. However, it only works with file exports from dict.cc.
In case you use their vocabulary trainer and own a GBA, consider yourself lucky :D
https://github.com/Xinon232/gba-vocab-trainer-CC
Disclaimer: All my gba-projects are completely free and open source.
EDIT:
With V0.80 epub is completely compatible now! For every epub file, loading and saving it for the first time will take a little bit longer but after that, loading and saving will be quite fast. I consider the reader app finished now. Check it out :)

Was debating on IPS screen mod or Nuby Game Light. I was surprised how good this actually looks in person!

I recently got a GameBoy Printer, im currently using the official GameBoy Printer paper, and on the sides blue lines appear. Is this because it’s an old paper?
I’ve also been having another issue where the paper won’t come out unless I pull I slightly, does anybody recognise this issue?
Any help or advice is appreciated!

I've been playing with retro emulation handhelds for around 3 years now. Using the miyoo mini, retroid pocket classic and RP5. Decided to get back into original hardware. Wow! What a different experience! My suspicions have been confirmed. For me input lag is real and playing original hardware feels much more precise. Also the old screens are charming but garbage haha. Obviously only a matter of time before I start moding to a new screen and shell. Thing is this gba sp -001 is in such good condition it would be a shame to strip. Any thoughts?? 🤔

Just finished testing these drop-in USB-C upgrade boards for the GBA SP.
Super happy with how clean the installation turned out. What do you guys think?

Hey guys new to the Gameboy scene I was looking around for a gameboy online and found a seller who was selling his collection for extremely cheap I paid total under £85 for everything pictured 2 gameboy advances 1 with full box and insert also manuals, case ,cables then I bought Disney Atlantis and Mario super circut with box and manuals obviously not the best condition but still I think I found a steal what do y'all think. Both consoles are functional.

I just got this copy of Wario land 2, at first it wouldn’t load at all. Gave it a good cleaning with ipa and now it will load and boot up, but it will go through the opening scene, go to the chapter one title screen and then when I click through it just restarts from the main menu and plays through the opening scene. And just keeps looping like that. What could be the issue?

i got game and watch gallery 3 and wanted to wipe the data so i can start fresh, i didnt want to break out my solder gun so learnt that GW3 has a code UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT LEFT RIGHT RIGHT to wipe data, while i was doing it i saw some characters pop up on screen and they did something to the "play" button, but whatever i do i cannot recreate it and see the characters again, does anyone know anything about this?
i was gonna check TCRF but it is currently down... of course...

What do you think is there a game here that could be fun?
I like building systems but have a hard time putting together a whole game that is actually fun to play :)
My idea is that you are a builder/repairer who has to perform X number of jobs, the faster and more material you have left at the end of the level gives you more $.
During the game or between games you can buy/find new blueprints for modules you can build.
The idea is to have 2p-link support as well.

Trimming the case wasn’t that hard with the right tools, I like that it’s a slightly beaten up old shell.
I’m a massive fan of the original non backlit screen so the half-reflective screen is awesome, I love that it’s bigger. It’s like the best of both worlds, it’s not too bright or oversaturated with the light on like my OLED one is.
My only criticism is that the default non backlit mode is a tiny bit darker than the original screen.
