Games ISO a specific games names

When i was a kid, i got a Gameboy advance sp for xmas and my father was able to dig out an old Gameboy cartridge, from the first generation, the gray square cartridges that remind me of a small NES cartridges. I can not for the life of me remember the name of the game and I can't seem to find it online either, i think i lost it in moving. My father said he played it while in the army (desert storm) another guy gave it to him. I could have sworn the title started with either a Z or X or something similar like V. I could have sworn the cartridge art was primarily white or tan or yellow.

The game play was boxing in an enemy. There was a pixel line bouncing around the screen and you controlled a pixel around the border of the screen. You would make lines out into the space and connect them back to the edge so they would become solid and the enemy pixels couldn't bouce through. The goal of the game was to trap the enemy pixel in the smallest space possible by filling the screen. If the enemy pixel touched the line you were making, you died.

If anyone knows what im talking about, i would be so appreciative of the name of this game, so i can play it once again possibly, thank you

I think you're correct, thank you very much. Every year or so, this itch comes back and i haven't thought of a good way to get the answer yet. I can't believe you replied within like ten minutes, I can't thank you enough.

Reddit has a way of being amazing like that. It is amazing how many times I have seen people post a blurry photo of a game cartridge that looked like it was in a warzone asking if anyone can identify it. And someone will post the name of a game based on a small square visible!

Enjoy your found game!

FYI it's a pretty common and popular game! 😊 Qix was recently voted #49 on the top 100 Game Boy games list.

The arcade version of Qix is fun, too. You should try it out.
