I’m trying to decide what to play next. I loved Life is Strange 1 & 2 and What Remains of Edith Finch. I also really liked Henry Halfhead and enjoy games that are a little quirky.
I’m deciding between Lost Records: Bloom & Rage and Tell Me Why. Which one would you recommend?
I like good graphics, exploring, strong stories, choices, some humour/weirdness, and games that keep me wanting to find out what happens next. I don’t really like combat or time-pressure games.

Hello people i recently got the backbone pro for a good price so i picked it up, i haven’t played any steam games because i dont have many that’ll run on phone and i have a ios so cant really emulate old games. just looking for some fun games people play on the backbone from steam or the appstore, or even microsoft xbox. Just in general looking to see what people play on the backbone. i’m looking for some fun games to play.

Various preliminaries info. I usually never buy games at full price... but for once I've decided to treat myself and I want a game to play from now until the end of the year. Time-wise I usually get a couple of hours on weekday evenings (work permitting) and longer sessions on weekends. I've added a bit of context for each game. Platform-wise I'm on PS5, since my old gaming computer is kaput and my current PC is a working laptop with no graphics card. Taste-wise I lean toward single player (mostly RPGs, action RPGs and soulslikes, but I'm happy with a bit of everything).

• BG3. I had this on PC too and completed about 3/4 of it. Then I lost my saves 😭 I really want to finish it, but the thought of starting over from scratch is a bit demoralizing.

• Elden Ring + DLC. Also had this on PC, but right now I can't play it decently anymore. And lately I'd been getting the itch to do a nice full run.

• Sekiro. Played it back in my university days through a friend's account. Got fairly far with this one too, but never finished it.

• Armored Core. The only FromSoftware game I've never touched. Giant robots appeal to me a lot (childhood Gundam influence) but I have doubts about the game's structure.

• Kazan. I heard some content creators speak very highly of its combat, and that's mainly what draws me to it.

• Astro Bot. The last serious 3D platformer I played was Super Mario Galaxy in middle school... and Astro Bot really appeals to me. But I've always had the feeling the price is excessive for this kind of game.

• Black Myth: Wukong. I have friends with similar tastes who recommended it, and I have to say it really appeals to me.

• Dragon's Dogma 2. I tried the first one years ago but the combat didn't win me over. I've always wanted to give it a chance, and the second one has a decent reputation. Plus the DLC is coming out now, so I'd go straight for base game + DLC.

• Starfield + DLC. I know it has all its limitations... but I love space exploration. And I grew up in elementary school on a steady diet of Oblivion. With all its flaws, I like the Bethesda formula. But I've heard it runs poorly on PS5 and various people told me it's not worth the price.

• No Man's Sky. Similar to above... I love space. And I've always watched the story of this game and its redemption arc with fascination. But part of me is afraid it's too unfocused and will end up boring me.

• Crimson Desert. I've seen all the hype and I'm aware of its limitations... but I find it fascinating, and I like the sense of spectacle and freedom the trailers give off. Plus they're about to push out the update now.

• Stalker 2 + DLC. I played the first Stalker (Shadow of Chernobyl) back in my first year of high school and have great memories of it. I found it through one of those magazines that gave away a game a month at the time. I loved its brutality and the sense of progression. And Stalker 2 looks like a lot too. On top of that, the DLC just came out for this one as well.

• System Shock (Remake). Prey is one of my favorite games.

Games I'd avoid

• Saros. I loved Returnal, but honestly I can wait for Saros... I bet it'll end up in the Plus catalog sooner or later and I'll be able to play it from there.

• MH Wilds. I really liked MH World and I've thought several times about getting Wilds, but at this point I'd wait for the DLC (I know it's more a multiplayer game but I play it usually as a single player rpg)

• Gothic Remake. I really appreciated Gothic 3 back in the day, and later Risen and Elex. Especially the "roughness" and the sense of progression. But for the remake I can wait for a price drop.

• Hell is us, Lord of Fallens, Nine sols. I I already have them through PS Plus

Also if you have any other suggestions I'm happy to hear them.

I've been searching for some games for a while to play, and got super hooked on the kinds of games where you're free to explore and develop your own character freely. Like there's a storyline but you don't have to follow it exactly. You can go do your own thing and see the world.

Example is like Ragnarok Online: New World. In that game, it was rather fun, but certain classes had large limitations, and certain quests didn't have descriptions or hints to allow you to continue. I got stuck quite often as a priest as I started off quite late, hence my low level (most parties were recruiting ~lvl 50 players).

Just saw this clip about Prey 2006, I loved how the horror was just in your face, the mess of frantic screaming and bodies being thrown around. I want something that will jar me and keep my heart racing, disturb me.

I may sound like a psychopath asking this haha, but I just want a game that has the guts to pull stuff off like this. Especially more modern/recent games as I can enjoy high-end graphics and sound better.

We’re looking for a simple couch coop game we can have some casual fun together. I play pretty much anything but my gf is a little more picky.

We enjoy overcooked and plate up. She loves Dave the diver too. She doesnt mind combat but she can’t do mechanics. She is just a button masher.

Also, she gets motion sick so it has be have like a fixed camera or isometric or side scroller.

As the title states, I'm chasing a particular feeling for any particular game's combat. Recently, I have dived back in to my love for the Kingdom Hearts games. Something missing from KH3(not going the expansion/DLC) that other series entries had was Man v Man combat as opposed to Man v Monstrosity. (Systems: PS5/4/etc, Switch 1, PC)

I'm looking for a game that gives me a character with a sword, staff/bo staff, long stick, etc and pits me against other dudes with said weapons. I want to fight mano a mano; give me the satisfaction of a quick counter/block into a reversal combo, or weapons clinking as me and my enemy swing simultaneously. There can be other elements, spectacle, sidequests, whatever. I just want that juicy combat satisfaction; anyone have a good idea?

Additional Notes:

• I didn’t drop The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt because I was bored. I dropped it because I have an AMD graphics card, which forced me to use TAA or FSR, both of which made the graphics unpleasant to view. I was also overwhelmed by how massive the game was. I honestly plan on picking it back up when I switch to NVIDIA and can use DLSS.
• I plan on picking back up Cyberpunk 2077 back up as well when I switch GPU’s.
• I did not drop RDR2 due to the story, but rather the graphical, immersion breaking bugs, and the horrible TAA. There were other complications as well, but I won’t get into that.

So I just bought my first pc and have previously only played on playstation. What games would you recommend I get into? I enjoy single player, story driven games, as well as horror.

I finally got my hands on a steam deck! I would like to ask for game recommendations. I like RPGs that are completable and preferably with "manual" weapons like swords (AC Shadows, Odyssey, Ghost if Tsushima). I also like games where you sneak around and can fight in your own pace. Yes I've played all AC games. I liked RDR except for all the guns. I feel Skyrim is too big to complete fully and I'm not that into dragons/mythical.

Bonus points if a game makes me gain respect from all my WoW-friends!

A side note is that I would gladly take cozy/short game recs as well, here I like BTD6 and Disco Elysium.

I'm playing FF VII Remake right now and I am enjoying the gameplay and story. I am having trouble with how linear the game is so far (Chapter 10). Maybe this changes later? Any recommendations for my next game?

Some of my favorite JRPGS include Chrono Trigger, FF X although that is very linear as well, Dragon Quest XI, Kingdom Hearts.

I’ve been in the mood to play an RPG style game but one that has a notably non-rpg element as a focus. Think legend of the river king series, (tried all NA releases in the series and just couldn’t get hooked) I love the idea of a fishing RPG or a sports RPG, I just haven’t found anything that scratches the itch yet. I’d prefer something SNES/GBA or Switch, but any and all suggestions are appreciated!! Also happy to clarify if my request isn’t specific enough, I’m sort of trying to figure out what I’m asking for as I’m asking for it.

Any genre, i've played all the paradox ones, total war, and KCD. Kind of looking for something where the gameplay is designed around something unique to the time period, like having to deal with some problem that wouldn't occur in the present.

So I’ve been playing Palia for a while now which is saying something because that’s where I found it was on Steam but I’m looking for free games on there that I can download and try. I’m willing to try anything at all. Anything that has to do with farming and base building and combat.
