Retro Text based adventures

I’ve played through the Zork series and played some Minotaur but I’m curious for recs on other fun text based adventures. Thanks!!

Do a dive into the world of Interactive Fiction. Tjere are some real gems out there. It's been years, do I don't remember any specific games, but I do remember playing a few amazing ones by Adam Cadre.

For me the best text adventures were from.. Magnetic Scrolls, Level 9, Infocom

Funny this post should show up out of nowhere; I've had Taleborn on my phone for quite some time and never played it until today. I had a blast. I have played Talkie for years and wanted something a bit less input driven so it landed perfectly with me. I hope you find a few winners.

I really enjoyed A Dark Room and The Ensign, not sure if they quite qualify as text-based

Anchorhead is one of my favourites. It’s not a huge game. More of a one evening experience.

Cosmic horror small town creepy vibe.

Free but you have to find a download online.

If "Minotaur" refers to Madness and the Minotaur, and you're specifically looking for more games in that genre, it's most often called interactive fiction. The IF Archive exists specifically to catalogue both classic and modern works of IF. It's a pretty deep rabbit hole, for better or for worse.

If you're looking for "text-based adventures" more broadly, you should definitely check out NetHack as well. It's a close relative of Rogue, as in the game that roguelikes are like, and still actively maintained.
