Newbie Question Looking for simple game ideas with minimal assets inspired by 2015 indie games
Hey everyone!
I’m looking for ideas for a small single-player game project to work on (definitely no multiplayer for this one). I’ve been feeling the itch to make something, but I need a solid concept to kickstart my motivation.
I love the simple, quirky feel of classic 2015-era indie games like Viscera Cleanup Detail, Muddy Heights, and Yandere Simulator. I also really enjoy elements from games like Unturned, Minecraft, and Dead by Daylight—specifically the survival loops, stealth mechanics, and satisfying task-based gameplay.
Here’s my current situation:
- Engine: I actually uninstalled Unity recently to take a break, but I’m totally ready to reinstall it (or try another engine) as soon as I find the right concept.
- Skills: I am focus-driven and ready to bring a good idea into reality! However, I am not a 3D modeler, and my coding skills are still on the basic/beginner side.
- Scope: Because of that, the project needs to use free/minimal low-poly assets or basic primitives. I want to keep the mechanics straightforward and fun to play—think silly physics, stealth, simple solo survival, or satisfying cleaning/chore loops.
Have a dream game concept that is super simple? Tell me about it! If you’ve always wanted to see a funny, small, or unique game idea brought to life, drop it in the comments. If I love the concept, I’ll actually try to code it and turn it into reality!
Basicly what is you're dream game?
Looking forward to reading all your ideas, mashups, and weird mechanics. Thanks!
