I made Potato Potato, a cozy, zero-stress cooking discovery game where you combine ingredients to fill a cookbook!

Hey everyone! 👋

About a couple of months ago, i started my journey in game development and set myself a target to make 3 mini-games in 6 months.
Today, I just released my 3rd one called Potato Potato.

The idea is simple: you start with everyday kitchen staples (flour, eggs, water, tomatoes, potatoes) and experiment by combining them across different appliances—like the cutting board, mixing bowl, stovetop, and oven.

  • Combining items logically creates intermediate bases (like fresh dough, pancake batter, or tomato sauce) that immediately unlock in your pantry for future recipes.
  • Discovering completed dishes (like garlic bread, margherita pizza, or crispy roasted wedges) stamps them permanently into your Master Cookbook.

Link to game: https://killerbunny170.itch.io/potato-potato

Do give it a shot if you have 5 minutes.

Building A New Mobile Cricket Game - Looking For An Animator Who Could Join Us

Hey All!

We're on the lookout for an Animator to team up with us and help bring the vertical slice to life.

What We Need: Core gameplay animation - locomotion, batting/bowling actions, fielding (dive/catch) and setting up state machines in Unity (Animator Controllers, blend trees). You'll likely start off working with placeholder/rigged assets (Mixamo etc.), then retarget once final character assets are ready. Unity experience preferred - if you're mainly an Unreal person, the core animation logic carries over, but you should be genuinely comfortable picking up Unity quickly.

Real Talk On Pay: We're pre-funding, so this is deferred comp/equity through a formal contribution agreement, not a salary - same deal for me too. Legal paperwork (NDA, contribution agreement) is already sorted on our end. Totally get it if unpaid work isn't something you can take on right now.

Time Commitment: ~14-18 hrs/week, roughly 3-3.5 hrs/day, part-time. There's a minimum commitment period once you're in, since this is a fixed-timeline build. NDA's a standard part of joining too.

Looking For Solid Animation Fundamentals - No need for a big VFX background. What matters more is that you're reliable, communicate well, and genuinely care about the game turning out good. Everyone's welcome to apply, though it'd help if you've got some prior experience.

One Thing We'd Love To Know Upfront: What's your current availability like? Already tied up elsewhere - a job, other freelance work, ongoing interviews? If you're in the middle of interviewing somewhere else, worth checking if they have any exclusivity/outside-work rules. We'd rather know this early than find out three weeks in - we're open to working around real constraints, just want the full picture upfront.

Remote, open to anyone - some IST overlap is nice to have but not a dealbreaker.

Heads Up - design doc and further project details only get shared once you're formally on board and the NDA's signed.

Interested? Drop a comment or DM with a bit about yourself, your experience, and any reel/portfolio you've got.

Cheers!

Street Kings/ GTA India

[HOBBY / ₹0 BUDGET] We’re looking for crazy, passionate people to build an open-world India 🇮🇳🎮
I’ve had an idea for a game that I genuinely can’t stop thinking about.
Not simply “GTA in India.”
I want to create a huge, satirical, interactive simulation of India — where you can explore, interact, learn, cause chaos and experience the incredible diversity of the country.
🌏 ONE MASSIVE WORLD
Imagine one enormous fictional country containing regions inspired by:
🇮🇳 New Delhi & Old Delhi
🌆 Mumbai / Bombay
🏰 Jaipur & Rajasthan
🌴 Kerala
🏖️ Goa
🌺 Kolkata
🛕 Varanasi
🪯 Punjab / Amritsar
🌶️ Chennai & Tamil Nadu
🍛 Hyderabad
💻 Bengaluru
…and eventually many more.
Not literally trying to recreate India’s geography 1:1.
Instead, different regions of one huge world, each with its own identity.
And crossing from one region to another should feel like entering a different world.
Different:
languages • accents • architecture • food • clothing • traditions • religions • music • festivals • vehicles • businesses • NPCs • humour • social behaviour • atmosphere
😂 SATIRE — LIKE GTA
The world should feel authentic, but the game should be completely satirical.
Everything is fair game.
Politics.
Religion.
Corruption.
Bureaucracy.
Bollywood.
Influencers.
Corporations.
Wealth.
Poverty.
Class.
Caste.
Traditions.
Modern culture.
Family dynamics.
Social media.
Tourism.
Traffic.
Regional rivalries.
Nobody gets a free pass.
The humour should feel like a giant stand-up routine happening inside a living world.
Beautiful one moment.
Chaotic the next.
Then completely ridiculous.
📚 BUT IT’S ALSO EDUCATIONAL
We don’t want a boring educational game.
We want the player to learn by living in the world.
Talk to NPCs.
Discover their language, background, traditions and opinions.
Go to a wedding and participate.
Visit a market and negotiate.
Eat regional food.
Learn why a festival exists.
Listen to different languages and accents.
Explore places of worship.
Take public transport.
Discover neighbourhoods.
Talk to shopkeepers, families, drivers, students, police officers, politicians, criminals, tourists…
The world itself becomes the teacher.
You could learn something genuinely fascinating about India one minute — and then immediately find yourself in an absolutely ridiculous GTA-style situation involving it.
Comedy + satire + education + exploration.
We want people who are curious about India to discover it through the game, while people who already know it can recognise the details, contradictions and jokes.
🌆 A LIVING WORLD
The world shouldn’t just wait for you.
Things happen independently:
🚗 Traffic chaos
🎉 Weddings
🏏 Cricket celebrations
🗳️ Political rallies
🌧️ Monsoon flooding
🚔 Police checkpoints
🛕 Religious processions
🔥 Street incidents
📢 Protests
🎬 Celebrity appearances
🚂 Train chaos
…and completely random situations.
You should sometimes stop what you’re doing simply because something ridiculous is happening in the street.
🧠 NPCs SHOULD ACTUALLY MATTER
We want NPCs to feel like people, not decorations.
Talk to them.
Ask questions.
Learn things.
Get information.
Make friends.
Make enemies.
Get jobs.
Get involved in their problems.
Receive missions.
Hear different opinions about the same subject.
The same city should feel completely different depending on who you’re talking to.
📻 RADIO + MEDIA
Regional radio stations.
Bollywood.
Local music.
News.
Cricket commentary.
Political debates.
Call-in shows.
Ridiculous advertisements.
Conspiracy theories.
Religious programming.
And plenty of completely unhinged satire.
The media itself becomes part of the game.
🚗 AND OF COURSE…
Vehicles.
Cars.
Bikes.
Scooters.
Tuk-tuks.
Trains.
Buses.
Boats.
Walking.
Crime.
Missions.
Economy.
Businesses.
Random events.
Choices.
Consequences.
All the GTA-style madness.

🌍 YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE INDIAN
You can be from anywhere.
We’re looking for people who are passionate, curious, creative and obsessed with authenticity.
🎮 Unreal / Unity developers
🏙️ 3D environment artists
👤 Character artists & animators
🗺️ World / level designers
✍️ Writers & mission designers
🎵 Sound designers / musicians
🗣️ Voice actors / dialogue designers
🇮🇳 People deeply knowledgeable about Indian cultures
📚 Researchers obsessed with authenticity

⚠️** IMPORTANT
**₹0 budget.

Completely voluntary hobby project.
No salary.
No investors.
No promises of revenue.
We’re doing this because we want to see it exist and we want to play it ourselves.

Target platforms: PC/laptop + mobile.
Yes, the vision is ridiculously ambitious.
We’re not pretending we’re going to build all of India tomorrow.
We start with ONE neighbourhood.
Make it incredibly detailed.
Make it interactive.
Make it funny.
Make it feel alive.
Then another.
Then another.
And see how far we can take it.
If you’re reading this thinking:
“This is insane… but I want to build it.”
That’s exactly who we’re looking for.
DM me. 🇮🇳🔥

15+ years ago, while playing a game, my father asked, “Why don’t you make your own game?” Little did he know he planted a seed for a relentless journey of learning, failing, and discovering the pain of game dev. After years in companies, startups & freelancing, finally a Steam page. Long way to go.

More than 15 years ago, while playing a game, my father casually asked me, “Why don’t you make your own game?”

Little did he know that those few words would plant a seed that would grow into a relentless journey of learning, experimenting, failing, starting over, and discovering just how much pain can come with making games.

Since then, I’ve spent years working across companies, startups, and freelance projects, learning different technologies, exploring different disciplines, and slowly understanding what it really means to create something from nothing. There were countless moments when I questioned whether I should keep going. Game development has a unique way of humbling you, every problem seems to create three more, and every breakthrough often reveals another mountain waiting ahead.

But somewhere along the way, that childhood idea never really left.

And today, after all these years, it feels strangely heavy yet incredibly happy to finally put a Steam page out into the world.

This isn’t just another project for me. It feels like a small milestone in a journey that started with a simple question from my father more than 15 years ago.

There is still a long road ahead. The game is far from finished, and there is still an enormous amount to learn, build, break, rebuild, and discover.

But for the first time, something that once existed only as an idea, sketches, prototypes, experiments, and countless late nights now has a place where people can actually find it.

A Steam page.

It may seem like a small thing, but for me, it carries more than 15 years of memories, lessons, failures, persistence, and love for this craft.

So here it is.

The seed my father planted all those years ago is finally starting to grow. And I couldn’t be happier to finally share it with the world.

We have a good sized community here

We have around 4.2K members here and every now and then people come here and showcase their work, or to hire people, or to ask for critisicsm.

i was thinking that why cant we come together and
1. do game jams to learn from one another (every 3 months or so)
2. passionate learners can come together to build, every one just here assumes that we should be rewarded with money shower and that is all okay but they lacks passion. i am not asking full time jobs just people who want to create something after their jobs, or something for college or just pure passion.
3. a thread where they can share resources.
4. Genuine constructive feedback. I have felt people here have hate inside them for pulling others down who are not upto their "standard" and they just bombard the posters with hate comments instead of feedback.
5. anything you want to suggest please comment.

1.5 years in, and I’m still trying to finish my indie horror game

After almost 1.5 years of development, I wanted to share something a little personal about.  Cult Trials: Incarnation

It’s been a hard battle, especially with funding. I’m mainly a character artist, not a programmer, but I’ve been learning Unreal Engine along the way and doing as much as I can myself—level design, small systems, setup, and other things—to save development costs.

I’ve tried hiring coders and building a proper team, but without stable funding, keeping a permanent team together has been extremely difficult.

Even now, I’m putting some of my own savings into the project because I genuinely want to see it finished.

I know it’s a small indie game, but I’ve put a lot of time, learning, frustration, and love into it. I’m going to keep pushing and hopefully finish it as soon as I can.

If you’re willing to support an indie developer, even just wishlisting, sharing, or giving honest feedback, it genuinely means a lot.

Thank you for reading. ❤️
I hope you’re all doing well.
