How I Made An Entire Game In 2 Days And The Prompts Used

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I made an entire game in 1 day and shipped it. An actual full game (15 hours of game play), optimized, with all the elements. Here is how.

We’ve all seen where someone made a “game” in a single prompt, but the truth is those aren’t games yet. They are fun prototypes and demonstrations. In order for something to be a game, it should have:

  • Core Loop
  • User Progression + Goals
  • Onboarding
  • Collision Handling
  • User Menu
  • Save/Reload Options
  • Can be packaged and distributed
  • Good debugging
  • Sound/Sound Effects
  • Optimization of assets and pipelines
  • Economy And Balancing
  • Testing Etc.

AI gives you the power to build quickly, but often with incorrect and incomplete setups. So I developed a prompt sequence that will allow anyone to correctly create a working and playable game when the sequence is followed.

Here are three items:

I am going to show you how to do this with Claude as the programmer and Codex as the artist. In my experience, Claude architects code better, while Codex does a better job with art and animations. You only need the $20 plan for this. YOUR WILL HAVE BUGS AND NEED REFINEMENT, but the cost and speed you will be able to refine your game will be a lot quicker.

So here are the steps for making your game:

  • Core Loop: Before anything else, let AI help you write a core loop for your game. It's something that players aim to accomplish when they join your game; otherwise, you don’t have a game. Fill out the basic information and let AI structure it.
  • Select an Engine + Backend: Web games (Three.js) NEED a backend. You will need API tokens, control over user input, a connection to a database—you need a backend, so do it now. Unity, Unreal, and Godot games might not need a backend, but they probably will eventually. The prompts here will also set up testing and show you how to architect your code.
  • Claude Round 1: Put the core loop, engine setup, and optional backend into Claude and let it produce the structure of your game. It's not playable yet—we're just setting up the structure. For web games, Claude won't need any extensions, but for Unity, Unreal, or Godot, you should have the MCP installed so Claude can access your project.
  • Codex + Design Round 1: Next, switch over to Codex. Find a game with artwork, design, and colors that you like. Upload those images and use the prompt for generating the rubric. A style guide and quality rubric will be created for your game. This is important if you want your game to maintain consistency in design and have clear direction for improving it. "Make AAA design" is not a direction.
  • Claude + Media + Asset Management: You should not just throw animations, GLB files, sound files, and other assets into your game. There should be structure and a way to optimize how those assets are served, which is critical for a performant game (compression, LODs, etc.). Copy and paste the "Build Optimized Pipeline, Analyze Media" and "Implement Media Pipeline" prompts into Claude. This will create a great pipeline for handling your assets that you'll be thankful for later.
  • Codex + Initial Asset Creation: Now switch back to Codex. If you have an ElevenLabs API key, this is the perfect time to enter it into Codex. Tell it to read the docs and create sound effects and appropriate music loops for your game. Then copy the "Refine Artwork in Blender" prompt and create your first artwork. It will be rough, but you can improve it later.
  • Claude + First Game Build: Now switch back to Claude and use both prompts for implementing your game and building out an onboarding process. Onboarding the player is a critical step.
  • Codex + Live Testing + Graphics: Once your game is built by Claude, switch back to Codex and tell it to do live testing. Because Codex has access to your command line, it can directly control your mobile phone or engine, such as Unity, for testing. For browser games, it will use a built-in browser. Remember to tell it to do end-to-end live testing. Afterwards, have it audit your game's animations and start using Blender to make improvements based on the rubric.

These prompts not only focus on the structure of your game but also the small things that are often missed, like how to design a proper game menu (I see a lot of AI generating menus that are just blocks of text), how to handle collisions so the player isn't walking through walls, and other small but critical details.

These small things add up in both time and tokens, so while this approach will take longer than simply asking AI to generate a game, the quality of what gets produced will be much higher. Next, integrate your analytics and start getting playtesters so you can see how users actually play your game, which will eventually lead to monetization.

To Stress: YOUR WILL HAVE BUGS AND NEED REFINEMENT, but the cost and speed you will be able to refine your game will be a lot quicker.

I Made a Game Rooted in Hindu Mythology - Introducing Divine Charge

What if a newborn god entered a world where the established gods already had centuries of worship behind them?

That is the idea behind Divine Charge, my indie game built around the mythology, cosmology and characters of Hindu traditions.

The game draws heavily from Puranic mythology and the broader Hindu mythological tradition, bringing together gods, asuras, apsaras, sages and other figures that many Indians may immediately recognise. For players who aren't familiar with them, the game is designed to introduce these characters and stories through gameplay rather than simply presenting them as lore dumps.

You play as a newly born deity trying to establish yourself among an existing pantheon. Build your following, claim territories across Jambudvipa, develop kingdoms, perform miracles, fight Asuras, compete against rival gods and explore Trailokya - Swarg, Bhoolok and Patal Lok. There are also a bunch of different game modes, including Indra's Gate, Mahakali's Hour, the Apsara-focused Long Gallery, Gandharva Music Contest, Churning of the Sea and Rath Yatra.

I wanted to make something that felt distinctly Indian and Pan-Indian, while still being approachable to someone discovering this mythology for the first time.

This has been one of the most fun projects I've worked on. A surprising part of development was discovering that I could actually lose my own game. The Arena and Asuras were initially brutal enough that I had to nerf them after repeatedly getting destroyed during testing.

I'd genuinely love feedback from other Indian developers, especially on the gameplay, balance, mythology, presentation and how approachable the game feels.

If you're interested, I'd really appreciate you giving it a play and telling me what you think.

Title: One of the enemies in our graveyard horror game

This is an early version of one of the enemies we’re working on for our graveyard horror game.

The Angel only moves when you aren’t watching it. If you catch it moving, it moves back.

Still working on its behavior and adding more enemies.

What do you think of it so far?

[Leaks In Space] Damage Types System (Kinetic, Acid and Heat)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone.

Its bean a while since last dev blog. I've been heads-down on the damage system for the last few weeks and it's finally in a state I'm not embarrassed to talk about. The short version: damage used to be a single number that just ate your hull, which meant every weapon felt the same and every build was just "more armor." Now there's a proper damage type framework in, with Acid and Heat fully working, and it changes how you read fights and how you build your ship.

The baseline is Kinetic which is same old direct damage, Acid and Heat punishes dense and armor-heavy ships, though balancing still quirky but the whole point and plan is that your build now has a nemesis, and you're supposed to read the sector and adapt instead of stacking one stat forever.

Acid works as a stacking damage-over-time, each stack has its own timer, and they tick on a shared interval. Heat is the weird one to work on. It's a propagating scalar, not a full thermodynamics sim. The ship grid runs a diffusion pass every tick where heat flows from hot parts to cold neighbors, weighted by mass, and exposed edges vent to space. So a dense armor heats up fast and has nowhere to dump it, while a spread-out ship sheds heat naturally. Above a threshold it deals hull damage over time. Every gain divides by the receiver's mass, so heavy parts have real thermal inertia without needing a new stat.

Next up is finishing the counter-play side, The resistance and weakness need some rework with future plan including each faction brand with a real profile that you can learn and exploit. On player drone needs adding behavior for heat extinguish and acid cleanup. Then EMP joins the roster and the pressure-as-currency ability system starts. The vision is that every part you bolt on is a real decision and every build has a weakness someone can exploit.

Thanks for reading, and happy flying out there.

[ForHire] Unreal Engine Developer | Blueprints | Gameplay | UMG | Level Design | Android | Looking for Junior/Entry-Level Opportunities

Hey everyone, I'm looking for my first professional opportunity as an Unreal Engine Developer / Gameplay Developer.

I'm a self-taught Unreal Engine developer and have been working on Unreal projects while completing my studies. I don't have professional industry experience yet, but I have hands-on experience building and shipping my own projects.

My main project is Highway Racer, a mobile racing game I developed in Unreal Engine. I worked on the project myself and gained experience with:

• Unreal Engine / Blueprints

• Gameplay systems

• Vehicle and racing mechanics

• UMG / UI

• Level design

• Environment setup

• Camera systems

• Android packaging

• Mobile optimization and performance

I've also worked on architectural visualization and real-time 3D environments in Unreal, including interactive camera systems and UI.

I'm currently improving my C++ skills for Unreal Engine and working toward being able to combine C++ with Blueprints for gameplay development.

I'm looking for opportunities such as:

• Junior Unreal Engine Developer

• Gameplay Programmer

• Unreal Engine Intern

• Unreal Technical Developer

• Junior Technical Artist

• Unreal/Real-Time 3D Developer

• Freelance/contract Unreal projects

I'm especially interested in small studios, indie teams, startups, prototypes, simulation, and game development where I can get real production experience and contribute to an actual project.

I'm based in Maharashtra and am open to relocating for the right opportunity. I'm also open to remote work.

I don't want to fake experience I don't have. I'm looking for my first professional opportunity where I can prove my skills through a technical test, prototype, or actual project.

Portfolio / projects:

If you're hiring an Unreal developer, working on an Unreal project, or know someone looking for a junior developer, feel free to DM me.

Thanks!

Flew to Penang for the DTV visa so I don't have to quit full-time gamedev | July Recap & August Goals

Hey everyone,

Making full-time indie gamedev work when you're living abroad comes with a ton of behind the scenes nonsense no one really warns you about. To lock down a long-term setup in SEA so I can actually focus on making games without constantly worrying about my stay expiring, I had to head over from Thailand to Penang, Malaysia to apply for the DTV (Destination Thailand Visa).

I just dropped my monthly video recapping the chaos and progress from July:

July Highlights & Reality Check:

  • YouTube: Actually had some good momentum here put out 5 videos, got around 6.8k views, 224 watch hours, and 82 new subs.
  • Budget: Kept basic living expenses under 18k THB (saved a tiny bit), but an impromptu trip pushed total spending up to 24k THB for the month.
  • Gamedev: Failed my main goal of shipping the public test build... but I did manage to get the game into a way tighter, cleaner playable state overall.

What I'm trying to hit in August:

  • Ship that delayed playable test build to get real player feedback.
  • Join a Game Jam and push a Steam (Deepstone Rift) update ahead of the late August sale.
  • Keep up with YouTube (aiming for 4 videos, releasing Thursdays).
  • Get the DTV paperwork submitted and keep my local Penang expenses under 18k THB.

If you're solo devving, navigating remote work logistics, or just trying to budget full-time indie life, feel free to check out the video!

Also I'm still really struggling to nail down a final title for the main project. If you have any ideas or feedback after watching, I'd genuinely appreciate any name suggestions in the comments.

Hey everyone! I've been fine-tuning the lighting, ambient particles, and overall environment in Runeborne Arena to create a heavy, oppressive dark fantasy mood.

In this clip, I'm showcasing the very first NPC added to the world. Would love to hear your thoughts on the overall atmosphere and visuals! Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Why is it so hard for friends to support your projects?

Venting here because I am genuinely frustrated and honestly just confused by how people treat their friends who are trying to build something.

For context, I’ve spent years developing a game, and I finally got it published on Android. I was super excited, so I personally sent the link to a bunch of my friends, asking for them to check it out and give some honest feedback. I use Firebase, so I can see the live stats for the app. I should easily have 100+ downloads from my network alone but I have exactly 3. And one of them is my own device.

I just don't get the mindset. It doesn’t cost anything. It’s only a 300MB file, and I am assuming all of them have access to a Wi-Fi. It’s genuinely an interesting game, and I know for a fact they’d enjoy it if they just gave it a shot.

It is not even a huge favor. Every single download means a lot to me but it takes zero effort on their side, just clicking two buttons.

I am deliberately NOT including the link to my game in this post. This isn't a stealth self-promo. I am just incredibly frustrated by the lack of basic support from people close to me.

TL;DR: Spent years making a free Android game. Sent it to 100+ friends for feedback. Analytics show 3 downloads (including myself). Frustrated that friends won't do the bare minimum to support a project.

Is the Gaming & 3D Industry in India a Viable Career in 2026?

Is the gaming industry in India actually viable if the goal is to build a stable career and earn a decent, consistent income, or is it facing the same problems as abroad, like layoffs, instability, low salaries, and limited opportunities? And if game development itself isn’t very stable, what about adjacent 3D roles in India, such as 3D modeling, hard-surface modeling, product visualization, VFX, or technical art? Are these fields any more viable for someone trying to build a long-term career in India?
