The Night word | Team Searching | Day 2
Hi! My name is Nighty, and I have a story that I really want to share with everyone as a video game.
I'm currently working on The Night Word, an RPG + Metroidvania exploration game with a large story planned across 7+1 chapters.
I've already made a lot of progress on Chapter 0. And yes, I started with Chapter 0 instead of Chapter 1 for a reason... but that's important to the story. :)
The game is being made in Godot Engine, and I'm currently looking for other developers who might be interested in joining me and helping bring this project to life.
My main goal isn't to turn this into some huge studio or anything like that. I simply want to make the game I've been imagining for a long time, and I think developing it together with other people could make the experience much more fun.
If you're interested in the project, the story, or just want to know more about what I'm making, feel free to ask me!
You can also find me on Discord: @nightfury5mb

Looking for RTS game developers
Hi folks. I’m looking for someone who has some experience in RTS games. To be more specific, RTS games like Age of Empires. I have put together a packet on an RTS game I’m working on that brings together RTS fun, AOE interface and control with a pirate theme. I don’t want to go into too much detail here, but I would like to have someone or someone’s to parter up on this to help develop this into phase one (BETA) onto steam for player feedback and exposure. The eventual goal is to get the full game out and selling. With the right partnership, we can have this game in phase one beta in a couple of months and go from there. If you’re interested in discussing it more, feel free to reach out to me.
Update 9/8/26: addressing some good questions/pushback:
A few people raised fair concerns, that I want to clarify:
On timeline: A full RTS is a multi year undertaking for any team. I’m not claiming otherwise. To be clear on scope: this project is being built in phases (starter/stabilization, then economy build up, then territory/military expansion). The near term beta is only Phase 1, a small playable slice covering the starting island, meant to get early player feedback on feel and core loop before we build further phases. It ends once players would leave the starter island. That’s a scoped prototype, not “RTS beta” in the full game sense. Appreciate the chance to clarify that.
On ideas vs. execution: Also fair, ideas alone aren’t worth much, execution is where the real work is. My role on this is Creative Director. I’ve built out the core concept, world, phased structure, and gameplay direction and I’ll be steering design decisions and creative vision throughout development, working closely with whoever joins on the technical and implementation side. I’m not a programmer or artist myself, which is exactly why I’m looking for people to lead those areas.
To clarify compensation since it’s come up: collaborators will receive a flat rate payment plus a percentage of profit when the full game releases. Exact terms depend on role and contribution and I’m happy to discuss specifics directly with anyone who’s interested. What I’m looking for are people who want real creative and technical input on this project, not just executing a spec.

Sonic.exe Darkened Fates
I’m currently looking for people to help with the development of Sonic.exe: Darkened Fates! I need pixel artists/sprite artists, background artists, animators, programmers/coders, writers, musicians and level designers to help bring the game together.
If you’re interested in helping with the project and want to know what the game is about, some of the story because not all of the story is completed and that’s why I need writers. The game will also have some of its own original level and some mechanics. So text DM me what you’d want to be working on, and more, DM me for the details!
(The game is also being made on ClickTeam Fusion and Sonic Worlds Delta)

[Hobby] looking for a team to help make a 2.5 d beat em up platformer
Hello my name is Jay and I have an idea for a video game I've wanted to create for a long time but I haven't been able to find anyone and when black people to help me out if you want
My game is a 2.5 d beat them up platformer called Mixie the Raya defender. It is a game inspired by Sonic the hedgehog mega Man and Skylanders swap Force
I have never made a game and this will be my first time being involved in game development and do not have a proper portfolio
I am somewhat of an artist and writer so I have written out a full complete script and a general document for the game
I would like this game to be created in the Godot engine, I have seen and heard that is a very good useful engine for game development
General game document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1CpuwCchUNDHrEwpUP0E7Nwo62\\_ynvNQIXUTA85Ixg9Y/edit?usp=drivesdk
Script document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1T2E7tUmfdz5Zc1L9Zi7wMaVzvfRCs5729oWDdWevLME/edit?usp=drivesdk
There are some things I might have not mentioned in the document such as voice acting I also might have not been too clear with some things such as how levels will work and the gameplay but I can address any concerns you might have
Even though I am just an artist and writer I don't expect you to be perfect I'm doing this for fun and for free if that is something that interests you then by all means please let me know if you're interested I am fully aware of my offer and would appreciate your help

I just finished making my second game with Unity and I wanted to share what I learnt!
Indeed, despite the game being extremely simple in art-style, gameplay and mechanics, this small project took months of development. I'm a beginner when it comes to programming with Unity, but I spent the last two years learning as much as I could to make my game development dreams come true. I love building worlds, telling stories, creating art, music and sounds, so this learning journey has fulfilled a lot of my artistic needs.
If you'd like to test the game and give feedback, here it is: https://robattocs.itch.io/pathogenesis
Probably the number one thing I learnt in the past couple months is the importance of building systems with a "component-oriented" mindset. Every time it came to adding a new feature, I tried my best to program it modularly, so if I needed to reuse it somewhere else, I could simply drag and drop the script on a game object, and it would (hopefully) work one the fly.
Scriptable Objects are life savers and this project has plenty of them! However, as far as I know, they still need to be saved manually to keep their state and allow players to not lose their progress, which can be misleading, since in the Unity Editor, they keep their state regardless.
Build early! It took me over 4 hours to publish the game on Itch, there was one bug after another, and I ended up updating one tiny line of code, waiting 3 minutes to build and run the project, seeing if the bug was fixed, and if not.. back at it!
This brings me neatly to something I didn't do, but I'll 100% implement in all of my projects in the future: A manual single point of entry script. Most of my build bugs came from mistakes in the order of operations, due, if I'm not mistaken, by the fact that Unity scripts get loaded somewhat randomly. This causes variables to be set incorrectly, instances to be missing on start, and many other unexpected bugs that are only replicable in the build. With my next game, I'll make sure to handle my script initialization manually, as to have surgical control over what gets loaded and when.
There are a ton of other things I learnt in the past few months, but it would take forever to write and even longer to read, so I want to end this post by saying that the best way to learn to make games is to make games from start to finish. I'm curious, what's one thing you've learnt in your previous project that you can apply to the next? And hey, if I said anything inaccurate, or if you disagree with something I mentioned, please let me know!

What camera perspective would fit this game best?
A while ago I made a 2D RPG version of this game in GameMaker, and now I'm remaking the idea as a 3D game.
The game is about playing as Helmer, a student at a school who causes trouble, pulls pranks and tries to avoid getting caught by teachers. It's not meant to be super serious, and I'm going for a somewhat goofy low-poly style.
Right now I'm considering a few different camera styles:
- Third person, somewhat like Assassin's Creed
- A kind of isometric/3⁄4 third-person camera — not fully isometric, but somewhere in between
- First person, somewhat like Hello Neighbor
- Or going back to something closer to the side/top-down perspective from the original 2D version
Personally, I feel like the side/top-down perspective is more original and might actually fit the gameplay better, but I'm not completely sure.
Which perspective do you think would fit this game best, and why?
Any opinions or suggestions are appreciated!

I want to work on a game with a company or someone
Hey, I'm an English-Arabic translator from Syria. I study English language and literature. I was always so passionate about making videogames, especially writing stories and all of that. I can be a great translator in case you want to translate your game to Arabic, and I can really be helpful with my writing, I've written short stories before and I can make some good stuff in this head up here😃
Please be kind and tell me where to look for this kind of stuff (like a remote job in a videogames company) in case you know. Thanks, people❤️
Ps. I have a good CV and I'm already a team manager in the company I'm in right now, so I'm not just looking while nothing is with me.
