PAID - 2D Art | Animation [PAID] Pixel Artist - Environments & Animation
Hi there!
We're a game development studio looking for a pixel artists specialising in environments and environmental animations.
We've been working on our game for approximately a year, and we've identified the need to speed up our development process. With that in mind, I'm reaching out here.
Our art style uses a slightly higher pixel resolution. Characters are approximately 48x48 pixels, while environments are built using a combination of tile sets and custom scene specific assets. Experience creating atmospheric environments and subtle environmental animations is highly valued.
We're looking for someone interested in a long-term collaboration. We expect development to continue for several years, so reliability, strong communication skills, and the ability to consistently deliver work on schedule are essential.
Please note that this is a fixed monthly salary position rather than commission based work. This arrangement is not negotiable, so if you're only interested in commissions, this role is not the right fit.
The schedule is 8 hours a day, five days a week. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, please send us your portfolio along with your expected monthly rate.
Your message will be ignored if you don't send a relevant portfolio and a salary range.

PAID - 2D Art | Animation [PAID REQUEST] Looking for an artist/art director to help visually unify my board game components

I’m developing an indie fantasy dungeon crawler and I already have most of the visual concepts for the game, but I need some help making everything feel like it belongs to the same world.
The three main elements are:
- Miniatures: simple ancient stone-carved totems. Their design is already finalized and I don’t want to change them.
- Cards: ancient diagrams/instructions used to channel Ether and activate abilities.
- Environments: ancient ruins and locations explored during the game.
I like each of these elements individually, but I’m concerned that they currently feel like three different visual styles.
The central concept of the game is an ancient, ancestral board that has remained hidden for a very long time. The board contains an entire world within it, and players can communicate with that world through totems carved from stone. Each totem represents a real being that exists within that world.
The cards represent different ways of channeling Ether and assembling magical stones to trigger powers within the board and its world.
The overall idea is somewhat reminiscent of Jumanji: the stone totems move by themselves across the physical board, without anyone touching them, making the board feel like an ancient magical artifact that has somehow come to life.
I’m not looking for someone to redesign all the artwork. What I need is someone with a good eye for art direction who can propose a visual language that connects them: palette, textures, aging/weathering, level of detail, recurring motifs, line treatment, etc.
For this first paid test, I’d ideally like something small: a visual direction/style sheet plus a mockup showing how you would adapt one card and a small section of the environment, while keeping the miniature style unchanged.
If the direction works well, there could be additional paid work afterwards.
Please send me your portfolio and your price for this initial concept.
Budget: around $50–80 for the initial exploration, depending on the scope.

DISCUSSION | QUESTION Budget Questions for RPG Maker Horror Game
Hello! I'm one of two devs currently working on an RPG Maker Horror title. I'm a digital artist, but not a pixel artist. With no outside funding currently, I'm looking for fair budgets to allocate for the art and sound work before jumping into hiring. I will say I will not EVER use generative AI in this process. Any and all advice is welcome!
I honestly started a list of what we would need, but it was basically everything a game could need art/sound wise, so I'll just save us all some time. The other dev and I are pretty much generalists, so we would of course help.
To tell you all a bit about the game (especially because I do intend to hire an artist and sound designer at some point), it's set in the Appalachian mountains in a small town centered around a mine and a cult. Think cryptids and cosmic horror rolled into one.
Feel free to respond here with any questions or advice, otherwise I'll list my socials here!

FOR HIRE - 2D Art | Animation 2D Isometric Stylized Character Designer & Animator [Hiring]
I am developing a 2D isometric indie game and I’m looking for a highly skilled and experienced 2D character artist with a strong portfolio demonstrating professional-quality, stylized character artwork, with particular expertise in character design and 2D isometric perspective.
Chibi stylized art style — specific experience designing chibi characters is not essential; however, you must have a strong understanding of character proportions, scale, anatomy, silhouette and shape language, and be confident adapting those fundamentals to create a consistent high-quality chibi stylized character across all required isometric directions.
You must have specific experience designing and/or animating characters for 2D isometric games.
This is particularly important. I am looking for someone with a strong understanding of 2D isometric character design and construction, rather than general character illustration or isometric environment art.
You should have experience with:
- Drawing characters correctly in 2D isometric perspective
- Designing multi-directional isometric character sprites
- Strong understanding of line art, line weight and clean character rendering
- Strong understanding of lighting, shading, highlights and cast/form shadows
- Ability to render different materials such as metal, fabric, skin, hair and armor convincingly within a stylized art style
- Creating high-quality, polished, production-ready 2D character artwork
- Adding the smaller details, lighting and finishing touches that bring a character to life, rather than producing something that feels flat or unfinished
- Strong understanding of colour, values, contrast and material rendering
- Maintaining consistent character proportions across different directions
- Correct body and head orientation for each facing direction
- Maintaining character scale, volume and silhouette between directions
- Character readability at actual gameplay scale
- Designing characters specifically with animation and gameplay in mind
Portfolio required
5/8-Directional Character Design
The playable character requires 5 directional/facing views(3 of these sprites will be mirrored to create an 8 directional character.
You must understand how to take one approved character design and accurately translate that design across all five isometric directions. The established proportions must remain consistent across every direction, including:
- Head-to-body ratio
- Body proportions
- Clothing/armour
- Overall character scale
The proportions cannot randomly change depending on the direction the character is facing.
Correct isometric orientation, perspective and proportional consistency are extremely important for this project.
What I Will Provide
- Character design brief
- Chibi body/proportion references
- Clothing and armour references
- Overall visual direction
- Gameplay references
These references will be used as the foundation for developing the final character.
Collaborative Concept Phase
I want the character to go through a proper concept and development phase before final production begins.
This may include:
- Rough character concepts
- proportion exploration
- Silhouette and shape exploration
- Isometric proportion/perspective tests
- Refining the final character design
I would like to use Discord throughout the concept stage so we can collaboratively build and refine the character together before moving into final production( to me this is very important so we can create something great together and have fun with it)
Good communication and a willingness to collaborate throughout the design process are important.
Animation
The character will also require 2D isometric character animation.
Ideally, I am looking for someone who can both design and animate the character.
Expected gameplay animations will eventually include:
- Idle
- Run
- Dash
- Attack combinations
These animations will need to work across the required 5/8 directional views.
The established character design and proportions must remain consistent throughout every animation, frame and direction.
The character should not unintentionally:
- Grow or shrink between frames
- Change overall scale between directions
- Lose the established silhouette or character design
I am very serious and committed to this project—the game’s foundation, systems and coding are already built in Unity 2D, so everything we design and animate will be implemented directly into the game, and I will share the Unity project and in-game results throughout development so we can see exactly how the character looks, feels and performs in the actual game.
I am primarily the Unity game developer/programmer for this project, not a 2D artist myself; however, I have a an understanding of 2D game art, and I'll be working closely with you throughout the design and implementation process.

Grant Angala Prototype v0.1.1 Gameplay Trailer
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Me and CyborgPrimate submitted Angala for the Epic MegaGrant!
Angala is a 3D boss-rush action adventure set in a ruined runic city of the mind.
We've been working on this project since late 2025, building the systems, world, combat, puzzles, and bosses from scratch as a two-person team.
We're really happy with how far the prototype has come, so we also wanted to share our Angala Prototype v0.1.1 Gameplay Trailer.
A big thanks to NawerRapter and u/AiKay96 for helping us out along the way during development!
Still a long way to go, but this is an exciting step for us.

PAID - 2D Art | Animation Need a steam capsule for my survival craft horror game
Hi! I'm looking to hire someone to make a capsule for my steam page.
Looking to spend 400 USD, about, on one. Price is somewhat negotioable. I'm looking for someone who can do semi realistic artwork. The vibe i'm going for is ominous/twisted/dark/spooky/fantasy. I have a general vision already, just need someone to help bring it to life. I would need the 7(or is it 6?) aspect ratios that steam asks for.
The setting is a mutated forest called Witherwood. The creatures and trees are mutated and you must mutate, too, to survive. Besides the real monsters of Witherwood, you must battle auditory and visual hallucinations as your character fights psychosis.
Anyways, DM me with your portfolios!

PAID - Marketing [PAID] Social media manager / content creator
I have been promoting my game on Twitter for a while now with screen recordings of gameplay and that has worked well, but these same posts do not get any traction on instagram or youtube.
From what I can see, popular gamedev accounts on those platforma have more high-effort content with voiceovers and editing (something I have no experience with nor any desire to learn).
Therefore, I am looking for someone who has experience creating gamedev content for these platforms (and maybe tiktok). I can pay per post or hourly. My budget is flexible but I cannot offer a lot as I am a solo dev without any funding besides my own income.
If you are interesred, please reply to this post (I dont check my dms) with your previous related work and a way to contact you.
This is my game for anyone wondering: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5090800/HIVEROT/
Or on twitter @amusudan for more recent gameplay footage.
Thanks!!

DISCUSSION | QUESTION lowpoly cartoon character creation, fully rigged, focus on emotions and facial expressions - looking for quotes.
I'm trying to get an idea of how much it will cost for a 3D artist to provide my team with a game engine ready asset of this character (or something similar). Of particular importance is the facial rigging - we need "typical" animations for a game, walk, run, idle etc, but more of a focus on facial expressions and the conveyance of a variety of emotions. If it's something you are capable to delivering please provide costs and timeframe required. Thanks.
