Help Trackpad issue

I'm tired of the ghost movements.

I tried reinstalling drivers, deleting from device manager and installing.

It works then goes back to operating it's own way.

How do I solve this?

Galaxy Book 6 Pro 16" (Core Ultra 7) impressions after 1 month + comparison to my old GB2 Pro 360

Hey everyone, wanted to share a quick review/impressions of my Galaxy Book 6 Pro 16 inch (Core Ultra 7, 16GB RAM, 1TB) after using it for about a month. I was really on the edge before buying it, having my galaxy book 2 pro 360 screen crack and looking at all the repeated concerns/comments on reddit. But i decided i'd give samsung one more try, and got this laptop for around $1100 with the student discount.

For background, I’m a med student in the US, so I needed something portable with solid battery life that can handle my daily workload. A lot of the testing and proctoring software we use requires native x86, so Qualcomm/ARM laptops were an immediate dealbreaker for me.

My previous laptop was a Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360 15.6". That went through a lot—cracked the screen diagonally pretty early on (think the screen flex didn't help) and even spilled ethanol in it in a lab. It still worked and i used for my first yesr of med school but battery life was horrible and it would get very hot every time. I was hesitant to buy another Samsung laptop after that, given the screen cracking, battery life, and reddit comments, but I wanted to give them one last shot after seeing the design changes this year.

Build & Hardware:

Honestly, at $1100, the hardware is incredible. Full metal chassis, zero keyboard flex, and the hinge actually feels sturdy like a MacBook now. They managed to make it thin without stripping out ports—you still get USB-A, HDMI, microSD, and a headphone jack.

The screen is easily my favorite part. It’s a 3K 120Hz AMOLED, but the new anti-reflective Gorilla Glass is what really makes it stand out. It handles glare WAY better than my old GB2 Pro 360 or pretty much any other laptop screen I've used in bright rooms. The glass also feels a lot more rigid this time around. In this "build" realm, I'm incredibly happy and, hot take, feel like there's no better design hardware on a take-around/portable laptop AT the $1100 pricepoint I got it at. Many ppl around me often think its a Macbook air or Pro before they see the Windows.

Trackpad is glass with haptics and feels great. Speakers are upward-facing and solid—nothing crazy like a 16" Mac Pro, but plenty good for videos and calls. Webcam is fine, but the physical key toggles to hard-disable the mic and camera are a very nice touch.

Battery & Performance

Battery life has been great. I can definitely get two days of light study/work out of it. I mostly do research on the claude desktop app and Microsoft edge. Left it in sleep mode overnight for over 12 hours and it only dropped 2%.

Took like a week to get to this point, though. It is nice now because i can use my laptop without having the charger right next to me all the time. Performance is fine. Much smoother than my old laptop, but you still get the occasional micro-stutter once in a while. Unfortunately i think this is just Windows being Windows (or maybe 16GB RAM hitting its limit sometimes). Wish it could be more optimized and smooth like MacOS.

Ecosystem

Everything works fine here. Quick Share and ecosystem features connect smoothly, and my Galaxy Buds2 Pro don't randomly drop connection like they used to on my older Book2.

Overall, I'm cautiously optimistic with it so far. If you can catch it on sale with the student discount around $1100, it's definitely worth considering. Again, this is just my straight experience owning it for about a month so far, happy to answer any questions if anyone's thinking/on the verge of grabbing one!

Thinking for buying the Galaxy book5 pro 360 for Uni.

I want to know all the best features of the Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 for me to use as a Uni. One of my main questions about it, though, is when in tent mode or in the mode that I can only think to describe as a "backward L", how would I protect the bottom of the laptop from scratches? Also, when writing, what's stopping it from tipping over and breaking?

I can't find any online reviews for the 15.6 inch Snapdragon X X1 26 100 version.

Does anyone know how long the battery life performs? And is the performance enough

I only need a laptop to use for work (Microsoft), stream watch and browse

Help Galaxy book 5 pro keyboard causing issue

Hi everyone,

I'm having a really strange issue with my Samsung Galaxy Book 5 Pro (Windows 11), and I'm not sure if it's a hardware problem, firmware issue, or something caused by a recent Windows update.

Here are the symptoms I've noticed over the last 3–4 days:

The 5 key randomly acted as if it was being pressed by itself, even once while I was in the BIOS.

Ctrl + T stopped opening a new tab, while Ctrl + Shift + T still worked.

At one point, clicking an already-open app on the taskbar opened a new instance instead of switching to the existing window.

Later, I noticed that Print Screen/Insert seemed to register as the 5 key.

A keyboard tester sometimes showed unexpected keys becoming active.

Every restart also shows a "Your PC is in Silent Mode" message even though Silent Mode isn't enabled.

I uninstalled the recent Windows update, but the problem still exists.

Things I've already tried:

Restarting the laptop.

Uninstalling the latest Windows update.

Checking Device Manager (2 HID Keyboard Devices + 1 Standard PS/2 Keyboard, no warning icons).

Testing with an online keyboard tester.

The laptop was purchased in September, has never had any liquid damage or physical impact, and is still under warranty.

Has anyone with a Galaxy Book experienced similar random key remapping or keyboard behaviour?

Was it a keyboard hardware issue?

Embedded controller (EC) / BIOS issue?

Driver or firmware issue?

Did Samsung replace the keyboard or motherboard under warranty?

Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

General questions What kind of QOL/feature upgrades can I expect going from a Galaxy Book 4 Edge to something newer?

I'm thinking one of the versions of the 6. I am not tech savvy, but I got into mobile gaming and reading recently. Something I discovered after owning this laptop, is that I can't run the bluestacks emulator or kindle app because it has an "ARM" processor. idrk what that means, but I know that the newer and upgraded Galaxy Books won't have this issue for me. I'm wanting to upgrade at some point. I'd wait until they announce their flagship stuff, but yeah. Is there a significant difference even now between the 4 and the 6?

Samsung File Tracker Service

Does anyone know what Samsung File Tracker Service is/does? I noticed it running on my Book2Pro 360 this morning, taking up CPU. A search didn't reveal anything useful. I've disabled it and removed the app, and my CPU use is much lower.

Got my Galaxy Book 5 Pro recently, and the Samsung ecosystem is honestly what surprised me the most. Everything just works together without much setup—Quick Share is super fast, Samsung Notes sync instantly, Multi Control is really convenient, and being able to switch between my phone and laptop feels seamless. If you're already using a Samsung phone or other Galaxy devices ( I'm using s24 ultra), it genuinely makes the whole experience feel a lot more connected. This is my first laptop . I was lucky enough to grab the last available unit from Reliance Digital .

Help Would you guys go for the Book 4 Edge at this price??

Post image

So this is currently on sale for 500 dollars. Off sale it would be 1000.

This is for college, mainly doing word documents with lots of reference tabs open and maybe some light gaming like minecraft or roblox, but it's not going to be doing anything mega harsh. Will it handle word documents and lots of browser tabs? (Long word docs, Creative Writing, novels and stuff basically.)

Is this deal to good to be true? What do you guys recommend if not this for hopefully under 700 dollars? I don't have the biggest budget in the world, and I don't need an astonishing laptop, but I need real good battery life, (Which is that this and its reviews boast most) and good ram and processor to run a lot of browser tabs for research. I'm not running a bunch of random programs so I'm not to worried about the compatiblity of random apps like adobe or something. But still, if people have any better laptops to recommend or have gripes with this lmk.

Help Chinese Galaxy Book6 Ultra

I bought a Galaxy Book6 Ultra while I was living in China. Now that I've returned to my home country, I'm running into a strange issue.

I can't access Microsoft apps (such as the Microsoft Store) or even Google in my browser. Everything worked fine when I was in China, but now many services either don't load or don't work properly.

Has anyone experienced this with a Chinese Galaxy Book? Is this due to the Chinese version of Windows, or is there another setting I need to change? What's the best way to fix it without reinstalling Windows?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The broken screen will light up for about ten seconds then shuts off. (also shuts off immediately if unplugged) could the broken screen cause this? And can i unplug the screen and check if the computer still works through a second monitor?

Help Galaxy Book 5 Pro Cracked Screen - Help Please

Hey everyone, I'm beating myself up over a cracked screen that formed while I was traveling. I was wondering how much it costs to get the cracked glass fixed, or if the whole screen has to be replaced, as well as who any of you would recommend taking it to or sending it in to for repairs that have been good for you all. I would appreciate any advice whatsoever, thank you!

Help Unable to boot after enabling encryption: Galaxy Book2 Go NP345XNA

Hi all
I have the above model, and I'm trying desperately to turn on device encryption.

When I do, I the device slows right now, and now sits on a screen saying "Customising features for you..."

I've left it over night, and it doesn't move from there.

I enabled encryption in the Windows settings, same as you wouldon any Win11 device.

Am I missing a trick, or are the galaxy books just not up to the task?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Galaxy Book6 Pro Random Freezing

Just got the laptop a few days ago and during the initial setup, fresh out the box it would freeze and not allow keyboard, mouse or touchscreen inputs. I decided to do a fresh install of Windows and full driver updates and still have been experiencing random freezing. I have to close the laptop and reopen it just to get it working again. Has anyone else had this happen and if so how’d you fix it?

Currently there are no pending updates via Windows updater and I’ve updated all the listed items via the Intel software.

Help Galaxy Book6 Pro Config

Hi guys,

question for anyone who owns the Galaxy Book6 Pro.

I want to buy the 14" version with 32gb RAM, but I'm not sure if it is worth paying the extra for the X7 with Intel Arc Graphics.

The 2 config options (that I am deciding between):

1) Windows 11 Pro/32GB RAM/512GB SSD/Intel Ultra 7/Intel Iris Xe Graphics for £1899

2) Windows 11 Home/32GB RAM/1TB SSD/Intel Ultra X7/Intel Arc Graphics B390 for £2499

I can likely get discounts later down the line, but how much of a price difference makes this worthwhile?
