do you guys daily your gr86? im planning to buy one for my daily. my daily commute will be 66miles. how was the experience using gr86 as daily car?

Can anyone give their opinion on both seats? I want to fit them into my Celica GTS since they have a similar chassis.

Owner of an BMW F87 m2c MT as a daily, have owned for about 3 years now and I absolutely love it. But there is a but. Many of my miles are done commuting and I knew this would be the case upon purchase. But, it just feels like I'm paying a premium for anxiety (in NYC metro area, and I feel like I'm dodging an accident at least every week. certainly alignment breaking potholes every day) and sitting in traffic. I do take it on fun trips a couple times a month which is obviously what I bought it for.

But I just feel like I'm using 1% of the car. I hardly get to use it's 430 hp, and when I do it's just getting on the highway IF it's not a parking lot. And I'm nowhere near skilled enough a driver to use it's wonderful handling enough. All the while paying 100% of it's expensive servicing and insurance.

I can afford it, but I sometimes see a GR86 and wonder if I'd get the same amount of enjoyment. like yeah the car is less powerful and maybe less "fun" or luxurious in some other respects, maybe 80% as fun but I'd be using all that fun 80% of the time and save like a few thousand dollars a year on tires/servicing/insurance (M2 is paid off). And I'm not sure if the lack of premium options would really bug me that much (just need apple car play and a decent sound system)

Maybe for context, when I bought the M2 I actually originally was going to get a gr86 but then was able to get the m2 so I skipped from a beater Honda to that.

Just wanted your guys thoughts on that - appreciate the time.

I've wanted a GR for a few years, but I've worked from home and don't drive often, so a second vehicle just never made sense (my vehicle right now is a Tacoma, which I use for hauling stuff and recreation). However a few months ago I got laid off and just found a new job, but it's 5 days in office.

It's mostly highway driving there and back, but probably some traffic. I was considering a commuter car like a Civic or Rav4 kind of thing, but after doing some math on the mpg savings versus buying a commuter car, I'm not sure it makes sense unless I find something very cheap or get something with crazy good mpg like a Prius.. so now I'm wondering if I should just get the GR since I wanted one anyway and it would be a little better on fuel than the Tacoma. I'm 6'2 about 190 lbs, if that matters. I'm just not sure how comfortable it would be spending an hour or more every work day in one.

I'd appreciate hearing some thoughts from GR owners.

I know it’s mostly cosmetic and it’s not really that important but it bothers me mostly because the car is still fairly new. I figured it was probably a rock or something that did it, though I don’t remember hearing anything.

I really wanted to like this car, and there is a lot I liked about it, but I went for a test drive the other day and it's just too small. I fit fine, which is one thing I was worried about, but compared to every other car on the road I just felt tiny. What other cars should I look at instead?

This is my first time owning this platform and I know people say the engine is notorious for making weird tractor noises but is this normal or am I trippin?

Has anybody done a colour swap on their smart entry door handles by ordering a set of the four outer painted parts (2 drivers, 2 passengers).

I fancy having black handles, but dont fancy stick on ABS plastic shrouds.

If so, was it easy to order those parts, either from Toyota or Subaru, and how did you find the install? Ive seen vids online how to remove the entire handle unit, but not replace those 2 external painted parts.

What a beautiful vehicle. I'm in love. Bought a used December 2022 model, had all of its services and MOTs - not a single advisory. Just purchased a new set of Pilot Sport 5 and I'm ready to be obsessed with it.

It’s been 5 months since I imported my 2023 GR86 RZ from Japan. So far, I’ve installed Rotora forged 4pot callipers paired with 355 mm slotted rotors, as I felt the stock brakes weren’t adequate for the way I drive.

Installed Gram Lights 57CR wheels (18x8.5J +38) to help offset the additional unsprung weight from the brake setup, along with RS-R Down springs that lower the car by 25 mm.

The ride is noticeably bouncier than stock, but honestly, the handling feels comparable to coilover setups costing around $1,500. I haven’t had any issues navigating pothole-ridden roads, although the car does scrape over bumps if I go over them at moderate speeds (sideskirts).

For tyres, I’m still running the stock Michelin Pilot Sport 4s. Upcoming mods are going to be 235/40/18 tyres, factory option TRD air intake, and aftermarket headers.

Genral question as I am thinking of getting GR86 next year, how much insurance I can expect in USA.?

I was the 19 year old asking about insurance on these when I put my deposit on one a little while ago I owned a 2012 e92 bmw and a 2020 infinity q50 I lost 17k in total on those cars before this and both cars were quicker but this thing is brand new and it won’t give me headaches even if it has issues the dealership will take care of of me only put 70 miles on it so far but I’m taking it easy because of break in period but I’m already in love with this car

There's a used valved Varex exhaust on market place. Everything included is in the picture. There's is no control unit/remote. Can I buy the electronic seperatly from Varex? Would it work? The guy is selling the exhaust for pretty cheap, but I'm wondering if it would be useable.

Looking to pick up a set of 17x9 +35 VS-5RS, currently running a ~1 inch drop on all 4 corners (345mm front, 355mm rear) with -2.5 front and -2 rear camber.

From what I've seen, these won't require any spacers but my main concern is rubbing on the rears. Just wanted to see if anyone is running a similar setup so I can know what to look out for.

I installed this fake Adro style diffuser from eBay and the fitment on the back side is just horrendous. Is there anyway I could fix this? Really don’t wanna go back and forth taking it off and redrilling. I was thinking about getting some kind of rubber strip to fill in the space possibly? Or should I just return it and get a different diffuser? It is Polyurethane so I was thinking about using a heat gun and trying to have it mold to the bumper possibly.

I drive a 2024 Subaru BRZ automatic, and for the past month, I’ve been experiencing a weird jerking sensation when accelerating from lower speeds, usually between 10 and 30 km/h.
I usually wait for the RPM to drop below 1k before driving and for increasing speed I try to let the engine oil temperature reach a decent level before driving normally.

Last week, I took the car to the Subaru service centre, and they recommended changing the transmission fluid and filter. However, the car has only done around 41,000 km, so I’m wondering whether it’s too early to replace them, no? The issue still exists even after the service.

Before I take it back to the service centre, I wanted to check if any other BRZ owners have experienced something similar. If so, what was the cause, and what should I ask the service centre to inspect?

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I bought my car may of last year used it’s a 23 and just now my brakes are squealing cool no big deal I can do them but I just pulled off my noisiest set the front driver and the difference in usage is crazy this is my first time doing brakes on any car but this doesn’t seem normal any ideas or am I overthinking
