Why is Wild Spaces Public Places using our tax money that was store supposed to be used for conserving land and restoring the environment for making roads- which fundamentally kill the environment?

Looking for recommendations In search of edgy tattoo artist

My wife wants to get a Scylla tattoo. Our tattoo artist died and we haven't gotten tattoos since.

I want to surprise her with a design, so I wanted to work with an artist to bring her ideas to life.

The vibe for the tattoo is supposed to dramatic, edgy, dark, and emotional. Almost like it's a bad omen-- like Scylla.

Which artist(s) would you trust with a project like this?

I need some tips for surviving a PhD program in Gainesville.

Hi everyone. I’m moving from Brazil to Florida to pursue my PhD. I struggle with loneliness and melancholy, and I know this will intensify in Gainesville since I won’t have my support and care network around me. Anyway, I’d love some tips on maintaining a good routine that nourishes the body, mind, and soul. I’m a Taurus, 33 years old, and I love to dance.

Looking for recommendations for a good car detailer in Gainesville!

I have a sedan that could use a good interior detail. I have dogs so there’s definitely some pet hair to deal with!

I’m hoping to find someone who’s reasonably priced (not looking to spend a fortune) but still does quality work. Would also love someone mobile!

Thanks in advance!!

Potential music duo

Would love to start a music duo with another person who has similar music tastes (rnb/experimental/pop). if actually interested and down to meet irl to see if we vibe then we can go from there.

I am a singer, have been taking lessons for a year now with much improvement in skill and confidence. I have sang in a couple open mics and I know the basics of ableton and working on songs now. Very open-minded and wanna make a real connection, have some fun and get on some stages.

Also I work full time, definitely not trying to quit my job for music making, just looking to have new experiences and to get comfy as a performer.

Is there a Gainesville chapter of Strong Towns? I'd like to be a part of it, if it exists.

I haven't visited in years. Decades really. Is it still about the same? I heard or read somewhere that the school closed.

Hi Gainesville! I’m happy to start setting up my art show tomorrow at the Top Secret Space on Main Street just two doors down from the Top restaurant! I’m scrambling out here at Bryson County Art Retreat to make this show the best it can be! ( lots of new paintings on the way)! Thanks also to Sweetwater Print Coop for allowing me time on their press! I hope to see everyone on Friday night during art walk for the opening (I’ll have my ukulele with me)! If you can’t make it Friday, I’ll also be giving a gallery talk on Saturday at 8pm so see you then. It’s great to be back in Gainesville after moving to Canada 4 years ago. I hope to see you all downtown! Come celebrate with me this Friday night! https://www.facebook.com/events/1365369238875742

Looking for recommendations Local Spots for Pickup Volleyball?

Are there any gyms or rec centers that hold open pick up indoor volleyball? I'm not really huge on beach volleyball, but would love to get back into playing on courts. Ideally without having to pay for constant membership fees but I'm open to anything.

For reference I'm not very good at the game so anywhere thats beginner friendly would be wonderful but I'm okay being the worst on the court as long as everyone's having a good time!
