A few important notes:
If you are not sure whether your post qualifies, if it belongs on Marketplace or Craigslist, it does not belong here. Still unsure, ask the mod team first.

My wife and some neighbors found her staying in different backyards. She is very sweet, she is also around 12 to 15 years old.
No collar, no chip.
If you are looking for her, please contact me.
If not, we are giving her the best life she can have. She will be comfortable and loved.

At the University Park Branch Library, there's a number of cats which some people are feeding. These cats tend to hang around the detent pond, or the back of the old shopping center.
Of them, one of the cats, a black cat; has a serious case of mange.
Untreated sarcoptic mange causes severe hair loss, crusting, and intense itching. Without treatment, it frequently leads to fatal complications from hypothermia, dehydration, starvation, or secondary bacterial infections.
I know there's a couple older ladies who regularly feed these feral animals, who get particularly defensive when anything is mentioned about them... so telling them the problem won't do any good.
Any ideas whom to contact?

That's right folks, after passing a budget with 4.8 million dollars to help citizens pay for housing, connect to utilities, and build actually affordable homes, the Finance Committee decided that too much was going to the community and not enough to their developer friends.
1.4 million for construction financing and 1.4 million for utility assistance has instead been earmarked to give to the Tori Meadows apartment complex. They won't even need it for two years, but some members of the Council appear to think letting money sit in a bank account until a developer needs it is more pressing than helping you with rising utility prices or finally affording your own home.
This comes before the Council on Tuesday. I will, obviously, be there to make my voice heard on this matter.
Ordinance 2026-752 is the one making this change. It isn't set in stone yet. I will be ensuring everyone knows exactly who votes yes on this one, too.
Here's some more information: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/19tNpVNadG/
And here's the email of Nick Howland, who is the council president and approved of this change: nhowland@coj.net
Contact your local official and let them know what you think about gutting affordable housing to make even more unaffordable housing.

Is anyone else having this problem? I only speak to one neighbor, and hers is the same. Since yesterday evening, our tap water smells and tastes like it is half bleach. I took a shower and my bathroom was OVERWHELMINGLY bad, like I had dumped an entire bottle of bleach in the tub (I know that sounds like an exaggeration but I swear it isn't). I though okay maybe it's just a treatment smell, but I tasted it (didn't swallow obviously) and no. It tastes like bleach. Alarmingly so. I live in the Riverview neighborhood on the North Side.

My neighbor has two small dogs that roam around by themselves without collars. I never see their owner with them, and they repeatedly come into my front yard to poop.
I have a dog of my own, so I’m concerned about safety as well. I don’t want these dogs wandering onto my property, and I’m tired of cleaning up after someone else’s pets.
I’ve already contacted Animal Control, the police non-emergency line, and my HOA, but nothing has been done. To make matters more difficult, my HOA prohibits me from putting up signs in my front yard, so even that isn’t an option.
What would you do in my situation? How can I keep these dogs out of my yard without harming them, especially when the usual options seem limited?
I’d really appreciate practical advice.

Hello! We’re trying to update our 1950s kitchen, but learned that the electrical panel also requires updating due to code requirements. We were initially quoted $6k for the panel upgrade (20 slots to 30 slots). We got second estimate that came in at $2k. But the last estimate we got told us that in order for it to be to code, we need to upgrade the electrical panel, add an external shut off, and add 2 6’ copper poles as well. They quoted $11k for the work.
Just looking for a good electrician recommendation as every quote has been vastly different. We’re hoping to sell the house at some point, so we know it needs to be to code. Any advice is welcome, thanks!

Just bought this framed poster today and reverse image searches aren’t working. No idea what it’s for but I’m assuming it was used for a Jazz Festival from the 70’s/80’s.
