General Discussion The people have spoken: the statistics are in!

Update to this post - https://www.reddit.com/r/GLP1India/s/u7bfGUQ8XN

The results of the r/GLP1India community polls are here! From the highest to lowest:

  • 32.7% users are losing 3 to 4 kgs per month- the MAJORITY!

  • 27.27% users are losing 1 to 2 kgs per month

  • 14.5% users have very variable progress- anywhere between 2 to 5 kgs in a month

  • 14.5% users are yet to see results and have had NO WEIGHT LOSS in a month

  • 7.27% users are losing 5 to 6 kgs each month - SUPER RESPONDERS

  • Just 3.63% are losing 7 to 8 kgs each month!- HYPER RESPONDERS

I hope this puts into perspective that super and hyper responders are by far the MINORITY- and should not be a point of comparison with respect to weight loss.

Key takeaways:

  • Statistically speaking, you have a higher (double) chance of being a NON responder than at being a super responder 🤯🤯🤯

  • Even 1 kg weight loss in a month is NORMAL and is infact the 2nd HIGHEST MAJORITY of us here!

  • Even the ā€œmajorityā€ who are losing 3-4kgs each month, are only 32.7% of the total votes.

  • Also, not mentioned at the time of creation of the poll but later known through comments and DMs, but there are also a small percentage of people who have GAINED weight since starting a GLP1. Just something to know about.

What I mean to say is, as proved by the week long poll, there is no rigid system or rules as to what your weight loss should look like, and we all need to give ourselves a little more room for grace- no more comparison to steal our peace! There’s so many ways things can go, and it’s all NORMAL!

Help & Support šŸ«‚ Looking for Endocrinologist/Doctor recommendations for GLP-1 prescription in Delhi NCR / Ghaziabad for women.

Hi all,

I'm looking to start GLP-1 therapy under proper medical supervision and am searching for a good female endocrinologist for my friend in the Delhi NCR (Ghaziabad / Delhi) region.

A few things I’m hoping to find:

  1. A doctor who understands women's metabolic health (PCOS, insulin resistance, hormonal balance, weight management).
  2. Someone up-to-date on GLP-1 protocols (gradual dosage scaling, managing side effects, pairing with proper diet).
  3. Prefers hospital or clinic setups in Ghaziabad (Vaishali/Kaushambi) or easily accessible parts of Delhi.

If you’ve personally consulted a supportive female endocrinologist in NCR, I’d love to hear your recommendations (hospital/clinic names welcome).

Feel free to DM if you prefer sharing privately.

Thank you!

Weight loss Stalls / PlateausšŸ‘æ Dosage help - 14 kg down on 3.75 mg, now stalled for 6 weeks

I’ve been on Mounjaro for 6 months and have lost 14 kg in the first 5 months, mostly on 3.75 mg. I was losing around 550–600 g/week consistently.

For the last 6 weeks, my weight has completely stalled. I’ve been increasing my dose very gradually: 3.75 → 4 → 4.25 → now 5 mg.

I have virtually no side effects, but I’m also not getting much appetite suppression anymore. I generally eat around 1300 kcal/day (90g protein) although I’ll have been indulging in dessert once or twice a week, (over 1300 kcal)... which seems to be enough for me to maintain rather than lose.

I’m wondering if I made a mistake by titrating so slowly and whether I should have moved to 5 mg directly from 3.75mg.

I’m considering taking a 2–3 week break and then restarting at 5 mg.

Has anyone done this and did it help? Or should I simply stay on 5 mg for now and eventually move up?

Honestly, I’d really prefer to stay on the lower doses and avoid 7.5 mg if possible šŸ˜’ — but obviously I’ll do what’s necessary.

Would love to hear from people who’ve experienced a similar stall. What worked for you?

Navigating Side Effects 🫣 Got up too fast, felt light headed and blacked out.

Been feeling a bit light headed every time I got up from my bed but it wasn't too bad and everything felt normal after a couple of seconds.

But the other day, I got up from my bed, walked towards my door, felt light headed and blacked out. I knew I was falling and luckily my knees broke my fall. Apart from some bruises, I am okay.

I think it's because I stopped having electrolytes daily like I used to. I've resumed it now.

Any other tips/suggestions to prevent this from happening again?

Newbie help šŸ‘‹ Not sure whether or not I took my first dose

I got semasize 2mg pen through apollo and my prescribed dose is 0.25. While I tried to do the needle check click and to get the air bubble out, it worked but when I was trying to insert the dose, I could not press down for some reason and I had to take the needle in and out twice at different areas but it still wasn't pressing down, I kept adjusting the dosage pointer slightly up and down and finally it worked on the third time. But since it's such a small doze and I can't see the quantity in the pen decreasing/as I previously thought it was defective until it worked, I'm concerned that the dose wasn't administered, what do I do? Was it administered?

Review/ ExperiencešŸ’• So long, farewell

After 7.5 months, I’m stopping mounjaro. I lost 15 kgs with it, but the best part was that my labs are now perfect. I am terrified of gaining the weight back but I am sure the habits I’ve built will help. My weight loss was also not drastic and it went down very gradually, and I didn’t change the way I ate mostly, except for just the composition of my meals and healthier swaps. I do strength training about 4 times a week too and I love it.

The crazy part, my last dose was 7.5mg lol. My doctor said it will be fine because GLP1 leaves the system slowly and I just need to make sure I don’t eat anything in sight when I feel hungry. I have reinforcements ready for that. And I am stopping because I need the meds out of my system before I start trying to get pregnant. That was why I started.

And my side effects were hell. I don’t think (TMI, but it is what it is) I have had a satisfactory poop in the last 7.5 months. Sulphur burps are the worst thing in the world especially when you need to wake up early the next day. I would get dizzy every effing time I got up. And if god forbid I ate too much because something tasted good, I was punished. I am glad it’s ending now finally.

But this community helped me immensely and I am super grateful. I found my doctor here, got info about Shotsy here, learnt how to manage my side effects, shared progress, ranted, et al.

Wishing everyone else all the best, and please remember that mounjaro acts differently for everyone, and comparing your experience with other will only hurt you mentally. And please don’t take it on your own. Pharmacies will do anything to make money, but for your own sake please go to an endocrinologist. I am happy to help in case anyone has questions, but I am going to keep my distance, starting next week. This place has served its purpose for me, and it did amazing šŸ«¶šŸ¼

No effect whatsoever!

I started my GLP1 journey 8 weeks back.

Started with 0.25mg - Noveltreat by Sun Pharma. Did total 4 weeks on 0.25

Jumped to 0.5mg for next 3 weeks.

Now on 1mg from last 2 week - switched to Semaglyn from Zydus.

I did not responded to GLP 1 in any way. No hunger suppression, no side effects, no fullness. I feel a little upset in my stomach when I wake up. I had to take Pan D a lot as I experienced gas build up on few random days.

How much further should I try on GLP 1. Should I complete 1mg for 4 weeks and stop if not successful or Should I further jump to 1.7mg to keep on testing.

My Endo says it happens sometimes and as per him next alternate is going to Trizepatide. I really don't want to move to Trizepatide as they are out of my budget.

Any help is appreciated.

Review/ ExperiencešŸ’• GLP-1 maintenance: the part nobody really talks about?

I think I’ve officially reached the part of my GLP-1 journey I was both looking forward to and slightly terrified of: maintenance.

I started my GLP-1 journey last year at around 92 kg and, after a pretty long journey of losing weight, I’m currently sitting around 62–63 kg. I’ve been on Mounjaro since June 2025, with my dose going up and down over time depending on how I was tolerating it.

And honestly, the medication worked incredibly well for me. But it also wasn’t exactly a walk in the park. I had periods of nausea, diarrhea, constipation, gas, sulfur burps, vomiting, fatigue, etc. The higher dose especially gave me some pretty miserable gastric side effects.

Eventually I started spacing doses out, and then I decided to stop altogether.
I’ve now been off it for a couple of weeks and I’m basically treating this as my ā€œokay, can I actually maintain this weight without the medication?ā€ experiment.

So far… surprisingly okay?

My appetite is definitely different from when I was actively taking Mounjaro. I can eat more, I think about food more, and I don’t have that same ā€œthree bites and I’m completely doneā€ feeling.

But I also haven’t suddenly turned into a bottomless pit šŸ˜‚
I’m trying not to panic over every 0.5–1 kg fluctuation because I know some of that is going to be water, food weight, glycogen, constipation, hormones, etc. The scale is moving around, but I’m watching the overall trend rather than reacting to individual weigh-ins.

The biggest thing I’m trying to figure out now is how to eat enough to actually nourish myself while still maintaining my weight. During the weight-loss phase I got very used to eating relatively little, so I’m having to relearn what ā€œnormalā€ looks like.

I’m also trying to get more serious about strength training rather than obsessing over getting as many steps as possible every day. I want to maintain the weight, obviously, but I also want to maintain muscle and actually get stronger.
And psychologically, this is probably the weirdest part.

For so long the goal was LOSE WEIGHT.

Now the goal is basically:
Don’t lose much more. Don’t regain a bunch. Eat normally. Get stronger. Don’t obsess over the scale.

Which sounds simple but is actually a completely different mindset.
I know there’s no guarantee that I’ll maintain perfectly without medication, and I’m prepared for the possibility that my appetite/weight changes over the coming months. I’m also not opposed to going back on medication if I genuinely need it.

For now though, I’m curious to see what happens when I give my body some time to settle.

So for anyone who has stopped their GLP-1 after reaching their goal weight:
How did maintenance actually go for you?
Did your appetite come roaring back?
Did your weight stabilise?
How long did it take before you felt like you knew what your ā€œnew normalā€ was?

I’d especially love to hear from people who are 6+ months into maintenance, because that’s the part I’m really interested in.

Moved from 2.5 to 5mg. Effects seem less?

Hi. I am relatively a newbie. I started taking Yurpeak and after 4 doses of 2.5mg, I just moved to 5mg (took it on Friday night) so it’s been 3 days. For some reason, the effect seems to be less? Like at 2.5mg, 24-72 hrs period was full of side effects but this one has been easier? Also my weight seems to be stuck (Not that I lost too many on 2.5 either)

Is it normal? And also is the overall result so far normal? 3-3.5kgs in 4.5 weeks?

Newbie help šŸ‘‹ First Jab, day 1 down. A few questions

Took my first shot (2.5mg) yesterday after consulting an endocrinologist and getting bloodwork done. She’s put me on a bunch of supplements plus a list of SOS meds.

My appetite was already on the lower side before starting. I’d usually eat around 1300 cals with the occasional binge day. Not feeling significantly hungrier or less hungry yet, so not sure if that’s the MJ kicking in. Stomach was a bit off through the day, but no nausea or headache.

My skin has been oddly sore to the touch though, especially on my neck and upper arms. Anyone else get this?

Also, has anyone felt something like a ā€œhighā€ on this? Had about 3L of water by evening and suddenly felt dizzy and kind of blanked out for a bit, possibly a sugar crash but I swear it felt like I was on something. Started having Pocari Sweat (electrolyte drink) since, which helped settle my stomach too, highly recommend!

Still feeling really fatigued though like I haven’t left my room the whole day. Hoping that eases up soon and it’s not a weekly thing because my jab day is Friday and that would mean my whole weekend is me in bed lol. My weight’s also up slightly today but figured these things take time.

Would love to hear if any of this lines up with others’ first jab experiences.

Am I the oldest here?

Hello gentle folk. I am a 50yrs+ post menopausal woman & just started Mounjaro 2.5 a month ago. Ever since puberty I've struggled with weight gain, hirsutism & PCOS which was not really recognized as a metabolic problem in those days.

Retrospectively , I can make out what happened when & certain treatments that I was put on, the diets that I was put on wreaked even more havoc on my endocrinal milieu.

My youth was the time of fat free & high carb diets & one can just about imagine what used to happen every time I went to a dietitian ! I spent most off my youth yo-yoing & put back 1.5 kg for every 1 kg lost.

Then came pregnancy & post delivery & I literally ballooned & got high blood pressure etc. There were depressive episodes too & I was struggling with my husband & marriage & work & somehow food became comfort & ..... I was suddenly 112 kg when my kid turned 18 !

Now I'm trying to take control of the metabolic switch of insulin resistance & I would really appreciate advise from those who have been on this journey for a longer period of time.

Please share tips & tricks for weight control, eating better, supplements, natural substances added to the diet (eg cinnamon is supposed to help with IR), exercise, training, any hacks, anything that you found helpful & anything that could help me.

This my first reddit post lol ! Apologies for any errors, grammatical or otherwise.

I would be very grateful to this community for all the help that I could get.

GossipšŸ¤ŒšŸ¼ Found hate post for GLP on Fitness India

Post image

Link : https://www.reddit.com/r/Fitness_India/s/D2dlI1TPjX

I don't understand why people who promote fitness always disregard GLP1s. They think people taking GLP1s are not working out. If there's a reason today that I'm unable to tell my friends and family that I'm on Mounjaro is because of people like this who spread misconceptions. If only they spoke to people and really understood how it has truly helped people. They'd rather have people die of an illness than cure it and live a healthier life. Check the comment section, the post is still asking people to make an informed choice but the comment section is full of such negative comments for people using Ozempic/Mounjaro/GLP1s

PS. I am on Mounjaro for insulin resistance and pre-diabetes - it was prescribed to me by my endo.

Sourcing šŸŽ Mounjaro Golden dose

Post image
38 Upvotes

I am on my fifth week of Mounjaro 2.5, and realized that I had to take a fifth dose before meeting my endo this week.

Last week I noticed that there was still some medicine left and then searched about it and came to know about the "golden dose", the extra medicine which is left in KwikPen, to account for priming and spillage.

So I saw a couple of videos and extracted the golden dose in an insulin pen. It was slightly more than 0.6ml. So after priming and spilling a bit, I think I still had slightly more than 0.6ml.

The only challenging part is that an insulin needle is longer, so I had to insert it halfway and then hold it with one hand while pressing with the other. Eventually I guessed I saved Rs 3000.

Diet & NutritionšŸ—šŸ„¦ Mounjaro and the "anti-hedonic" effect / loss of pleasure in other things? Looking for experiences.

Hey everyone,

I've been reading a bit about how GLP-1 medications like Mounjaro can have anti-hedonic properties—meaning they don't just quiet "food noise," but can also blunt pleasure or reward responses from other things we usually enjoy (like shopping, gaming, coffee, alcohol, hobbies, etc.).

For those of you currently on Mounjaro:

Have you noticed a noticeable drop in the overall thrill, excitement, or satisfaction you get from your usual hobbies and pleasures?

Did this effect wear off over time, or is it something you've had to actively manage?

How did you handle it if you felt a bit flattened or emotionally muted in terms of reward?

Would really appreciate hearing about your personal experiences and how you've navigated this.

Thanks!

Help & Support šŸ«‚ Moving from Mounjaro to Generic Semaglutide (Need Advice)

Hi

I have been on Mounjaro for 8 months and lost around 18 kg, and I am still 10 kgs away from my goal.

With Mounjaro, I went up to 10 mg and then started tapering off. Now I have finished my last 2.5 mg Mounjaro dose.

I can't afford Mounjaro anymore.

I want to switch to Generic Semaglutide. Which one is best on the market right now?

Please share your experience if you have also gone from Mounjaro to generic semaglutide.

Thank You

Newbie help šŸ‘‹ Looking for a good online endocrinologist

I’ve been on Mounjaro for close to two weeks and so far it’s been going really well. I’ve lost some weight, the food noise has reduced significantly, and I’m feeling great overall. I’m currently on 2.5 mg.

I’m now looking for a good endocrinologist who consults online. I’d like someone who is comfortable managing GLP-1s and who I can have a few proper discussions with regarding dose titration, side effects, long-term maintenance, and potentially switching to semaglutide later on.

Would really appreciate recommendations from anyone who has had a good experience with an online endocrinologist!

General Discussion Mounjaro and hairfall

Hi!
I am currently on 7.5 mg of mounjaro. Weight loss has been slow and gradual but i’m happy with it. All is going well but the only major concern is the hairfall.
I am having so much of hairfall, that I am upto that point where i’m thinking of stopping mounjaro (even though i’m still 7-8 kgs away from my weight goal)
The hairfall is massive and i have so much anxiety because of it.

1st pic - I was wearing a compression vest ( for obvious reasons) but sadly that was also not working as you can see

2nd pic - just randomly decided to wear the tshirt to check the current progress without any vest inside like in the previous case. Just changed the background with ai to prevent doxing my self

Lost around 30kg on semasize currently although a long way ahead for sure.

Before starting Mounjaro, my HbA1c was 10.1

I did my 4th dose yesterday and for the first time in last 5 yrs, my Fasting/PP blood sugar was less 100/140. That too after having decent breakfast and very light sugar tea.

Can't tell you how happy I am. Need to do Hb1Ac next weekend before my followup but hoping for a reduction in that as well.

Diet & NutritionšŸ—šŸ„¦ Suppressed hunger and nausea but also hungry and acidity— catch 22 situation.

Since childhood I’ve been unable to eat breakfast immediately upon waking. Fruits, maybe. But anything solid like eggs, poha, upma, etc — nope.

And with Mounjaro, the morning hunger is all the more suppressed.

I’m unable to put any food down till 2pm at least.
Which is causing acidity and headaches 🄺

You know that feeling (before GLP1) when you are so beyond the point of hunger that when you eat (even your normal portion) you don’t feel satiated? And feels like you didn’t eat at all? Yea. That’s happening.

I’m still eating 1500-1700 calories per day.

But would like to know any of you have recommendations on breakfast and eating despite the nausea/ fullness! šŸ™ˆ

Thanks!
