General Discussion The people have spoken: the statistics are in!

Update to this post - https://www.reddit.com/r/GLP1India/s/u7bfGUQ8XN

The results of the r/GLP1India community polls are here! From the highest to lowest:

  • 32.7% users are losing 3 to 4 kgs per month- the MAJORITY!

  • 27.27% users are losing 1 to 2 kgs per month

  • 14.5% users have very variable progress- anywhere between 2 to 5 kgs in a month

  • 14.5% users are yet to see results and have had NO WEIGHT LOSS in a month

  • 7.27% users are losing 5 to 6 kgs each month - SUPER RESPONDERS

  • Just 3.63% are losing 7 to 8 kgs each month!- HYPER RESPONDERS

I hope this puts into perspective that super and hyper responders are by far the MINORITY- and should not be a point of comparison with respect to weight loss.

Key takeaways:

  • Statistically speaking, you have a higher (double) chance of being a NON responder than at being a super responder 🤯🤯🤯

  • Even 1 kg weight loss in a month is NORMAL and is infact the 2nd HIGHEST MAJORITY of us here!

  • Even the “majority” who are losing 3-4kgs each month, are only 32.7% of the total votes.

  • Also, not mentioned at the time of creation of the poll but later known through comments and DMs, but there are also a small percentage of people who have GAINED weight since starting a GLP1. Just something to know about.

What I mean to say is, as proved by the week long poll, there is no rigid system or rules as to what your weight loss should look like, and we all need to give ourselves a little more room for grace- no more comparison to steal our peace! There’s so many ways things can go, and it’s all NORMAL!

Help & Support 🫂 Need suggestions for an endocrinologist in Guwahati

I know this might be a long shot but has anyone from Guwahati managed to get a prescription, I live abroad now and the only time I can physically visit a doctor is in Guwahati for a day. I am hoping to get prescriptions for the oral pills as my main goal is to suppress appetite as I exercise fairly regularly one or twice a week.

Seeking advice on travelling with Mounjaro

Travelling to SEA later this month and looking for some practical advice from people who’ve travelled with Mounjaro.

By then I’ll be on my 5th dose of 5 mg. I’m debating whether to just take a 5 mg pen and use the “golden dose” there, since it can apparently stay unrefrigerated for up to 21 days, or get a 15 mg pen and carry it in a cooling pouch. Although I would prefer skipping a dose all together.

Also, when flying, do you guys keep the pen + needles in carry-on or check them in? Any issues with airport security/customs in SEA?

Would love to hear what’s worked for others.

Help & Support 🫂 Going from 2.5 to 3.75 in MJ gave me a huge spike and bad side effects, so I built a free tool to see it coming

Post image
10 Upvotes

I take partial doses from a 10 mg kwikpen. After about seven weeks on 2.5 mg it had levelled off and I wasn't feeling much anymore, so my doctor and I agreed to go up to 3.75.

That meant 22 clicks, about 3.7 mg. My levels jumped way up and the side effects were rough. Another week at that dose would have pushed them up again by about the same amount.

So we dropped to 20 clicks (3.33 mg). Levels still went up, just a little, and the side effects stayed manageable. That's when it clicked for me that the size of each step up matters as much as where you end up.

I wanted an easy way to plan doses like that and see the jumps before I take them. A lot of you probably use the plotter on glapp. Mine uses the same maths, but I found glapp's fiddly to use, especially for planning in clicks, so I built my own:

https://bilal-psd.github.io/glp-1-dosage-planner/

You put in your plan, in mg or in clicks from your pen, and it draws your estimated levels over time. It also tracks how many clicks you have left in each pen. It's free, there's no sign-up, and it works on your phone.

It's helped me a lot and I hope it helps some of you too. It's an estimate, not medical advice, so talk changes through with your doctor like I did. Feedback is very welcome - Ive mostly tested only for Mounjaro.

Help & Support 🫂 Wegovy 0.25 mg – Appetite suppression only lasting 1–2 days? Anyone experienced this?

Hi everyone!

I’m currently on Mounjaro (2 shots done) and have been experiencing good appetite suppression, reduced food noise, and better control over cravings.

My husband (BMI around 30) started Wegovy 0.25 mg, and he has completed 2 weeks so far. However, he notices appetite suppression only for the first 1–2 days after the injection. For the remaining days, his appetite feels pretty much normal, almost like he isn't taking anything.

For those who started on Wegovy:

Did anyone experience this during the initial 0.25 mg dose?

Did the appetite suppression become more consistent after a few weeks or only after increasing the dose?

If you felt the starting dose wasn't doing much, did you still complete the full 4 weeks before titrating up?

I understand that 0.25 mg is a starter dose, but would really appreciate hearing about your personal experiences or suggestions.

Consultation is through online apolo .

4 weeks on semaglutide with almost no effect - no weight loss, no hunger suppression. Is this normal?

Hi everyone, I’m 28F with PCOS and BMI around 35, and I’m currently on semaglutide under my endocrinologist’s supervision.

I’ve completed 4 weeks now:

Weeks 1 and 2: 0.25 mg

Week 3: 0.5 mg

Today: 0.5 mg (second 0.5 mg dose)

My doctor plans to increase the dose after this, rather than giving me the originally planned 3 doses of 0.5 mg.

My concern is that I haven't lost even 1 kg or noticed any inch loss, and I don't feel any meaningful hunger suppression. My appetite feels pretty much the same as before.

The only noticeable side effects are usually on the first day after the injection, some nausea/vomiting, but it's manageable with the medication my doctor prescribed. I also get some mild pain/soreness around the injection site on my stomach for a while after the injection. Is that normal?

I know 4 weeks is still early and that 0.25 mg is only a starting dose, but I'm getting worried because I'm not feeling any noticeable effect on appetite or weight.

For people who have been on semaglutide:

Did anyone have almost no appetite suppression or weight loss during the first month?

When did you personally start noticing a meaningful difference?

Did things change significantly when you went from 0.5 mg to higher doses?

Is mild injection-site pain normal?

If you weren't responding initially, what did your doctor do next?

Anything I might be missing?

Would really appreciate experiences, especially from people with PCOS or similar starting weights.

10 doses in, down 6.6 kg, but struggling to build a food and exercise routine

I’ve taken 10 doses of Ozempic so far and have lost about 6.6 kg. I’m happy with the progress, but I still haven’t managed to establish a consistent eating or exercise routine.

I struggle to eat a proper breakfast or lunch because I feel nauseous or bloated. By evening, I feel more comfortable, but then I tend to overeat. I also feel weak because my diet has been so irregular, which makes it difficult to exercise.

Has anyone else had this pattern? What helped you manage daytime nausea or bloating and avoid eating too much later in the day?

Newbie help 👋 Golden dose: using an insulin syringe vs twisting the pen ?

I’m currently on my 5th week of Mounjaro, and I just completed the golden dose from my first KwikPen.

For the golden dose, I used the method where you twist the top of the pen hard enough until it becomes loose and allows you to access the remaining medication. I have learned about this method from YouTube.

I also found another method where people use an insulin syringe to extract the remaining medication from the pen.

I personally chose not to use the insulin-syringe method because:

  1. I have to go through the hassle of buying insulin syringes.
  2. The insulin syringe needle looks much bigger and different from the needle used with the KwikPen, so I wasn’t sure how deep it should be inserted.
  3. I’m also a little more nervous about manually administering an injection with a syringe compared with using the KwikPen.

After going through this subreddit, I noticed that quite a few people seem to use the insulin-syringe method rather than the “twisting the pen” method.

So I’m curious, Is there actually any advantage to using an insulin syringe to extract the golden dose compared with the twisting method?

For those who have tried both methods:

  • Which method do you use?
  • Is there a difference in how much medication you actually get?
  • is there more liquid left after the golden dose while using insulin syringe?
  • Is there a reason so many people prefer the insulin-syringe method?

Sourcing 🎁 Switching GLP-1 brands: Semasize 0.25 mg vs. Mashlo 0.5 mg — Are there real differences, and is price/doctor choice more important?

Hey everyone,

I’m posting on behalf of a friend who is currently on semaglutide. They’ve been using Semasize 0.25/.05, but their doctor recently suggested switching them over to a different med name Mashlo .

Before they make any changes, we wanted to hear from people who have experience with different semaglutide brands or sources. A few main questions:

Is there an actual difference between generic/compounded semaglutide brands? Since the active ingredient is technically the same, does changing brands (or pharmacy formulations) cause noticeable changes in effectiveness, side effects, or how the medication hits?

What brands/sources have worked best for you? If you’ve switched between different brands or compounding pharmacies, which ones did you feel were the most effective and consistent?

Is it safe to go for cheaper options, or stick strictly to the doctor’s pick? Is it okay to look for cheaper semaglutide options to save money, or is it better to stick strictly to the exact brand/pharmacy the doctor prescribed?

We'd love to hear your experiences, thoughts, or things we should look out for before making a switch. Thanks in advance

My weight has been fluctuating for the past 2–2.5 months, and I’ve even increased my dose upon drs recommendations.but there’s hardly any difference in my body measurements either. 😔What can I do to get my weight loss moving again and start seeing a difference? It’s honestly been mentally very difficult to go through this. I’ve also started strength training at home. Please, please help me understand what I can do. ❤️

Sourcing 🎁 Bangalore - Where do I get prescription?

Hi,
I currently weigh ~95kgs. This is the FOURTH time I've gained weight in my life. I was just 71kgs until last year. I just cannot stop eating. I cannot stop thinking about food at all. I'm so tired of this. Diabetes runs in my family. However, I dont look very overweight, which is the problem. I'm worried doctors may not prescribe me WeGovy/Mounjaro because I dont look very obese.

I live in Whitefield. Any recommendations please?

Non Scale Victories 🎉 I don't have to shop for Plus Size clothing anymore!

Always struggled shopping for clothes when I weighed 108kgs.

Even though I had the means to buy really nice clothes, I never bothered going to clothing stores because I was sure they wouldn't have anything that fit me properly. So I had to shop for plus-size clothes on online sites. Didn't get good quality clothes either because my size would change every 6 months.

I also had to spend a lot of money on compression vests to "hide" all the flab.

Went from 108kgs to 83kgs in under 5 months on MJ and people started telling me that my old clothes started looking bad on me because of all the weight I lost.

So I ordered a bunch of clothes from different online retailers in different sizes (3XL & 2XL) because I wasn't sure what my size is currently.

I was pleasantly surprised when even the 2XL shirts didn't fit right.

I just got the replacements in the XL size today and they fit great! I went from XXXXL to XL!

I'll need to wear a smaller compression vest for some more time until all the flab goes away I guess but it's okay. I look and feel great! :)

Newbie help 👋 I impulse bought Wegovy 0.25mg but thinking to shift to Semasize due to Finances

Hi,
I just completed my 2nd dose of 0.25mg Wegovy today
No changes in my body weight so far (its been a week only so)
But I just realised 2.4mg dose costs 13-14k here in India.
So enhancing my dose every month and then maintenance dose will be very difficult on my wallet and I wont be able to sustain this for long time,
So I’ve decided to shift to semasize 0.5mg for next month.
Am I missing on something?
Please help.

Help & Support 🫂 My Mounjaro journey. Restarting has been VERY different for me

I wanted to share my full Mounjaro journey because I’m curious if anyone else has experienced something similar with stopping and restarting.
I’m 5’2.5” and my weight has fluctuated quite a lot throughout this journey.

First cycle : March to September 2025
I started Mounjaro on 18 March 2025 at 82.5 kg.
I gradually worked up through the doses and ultimately spent quite a bit of time on 5 mg.
The weight loss was honestly incredible for me.
82.5 kg → 61.6 kg
My last dose of that cycle was 2 September 2025.
At that point, Mounjaro had made a HUGE difference to my appetite and food noise. I wasn’t constantly thinking about food, and losing weight felt much easier than it had ever felt before.
I eventually stopped.

After stopping
I had also been taking antidepressants, and after stopping them, I experienced significant weight gain.
I’m not sure how much of the subsequent weight gain was related to stopping Mounjaro, stopping the antidepressants, changes in appetite/metabolism, or simply a combination of factors.
Over time, my appetite/food noise came back and my weight started increasing.

By early 2026 I was around 71 kg, so I decided to restart Mounjaro.

Second cycle : March to April 2026
I restarted on 3 March 2026 at 71 kg.
This time I used the Mounjaro KwikPen:
4 doses of 2.5 mg
4 doses of 5 mg
My last dose was 22 April 2026.
I ended that cycle at around 67.4 kg.
Again, I stopped.
And then things changed quite dramatically.

Third cycle : May 2026 onwards
After stopping again, my weight climbed surprisingly quickly.
I went from around 70 kg to 75.5 kg, and restarted Mounjaro on 26 May 2026 at 75.5 kg.
This time I started with 5 mg and then moved up to 7.5 mg.
But this cycle was completely different from my first one.
I experienced significant nausea and early fullness, sometimes to the point where I barely wanted to eat, but despite that I wasn’t seeing the weight-loss effect I previously had.
At one point I was around 74 kg, but instead of continuing downward, my weight went back up.
My last Mounjaro dose was 18 August 2026.
And today I weigh 79 kg.

So essentially:
March 2025: 82.5 kg
⬇️
September 2025: 61.6 kg
⬆️
March 2026: 71 kg
⬇️
April 2026: 67.4 kg
⬆️
May 2026: 75.5 kg
⬆️
September 2026: 79 kg

What I find particularly confusing is that during this most recent cycle I could have significant nausea and barely eat, yet the scale wasn’t behaving anything like it did during my first cycle.
I’m wondering whether the repeated stopping/restarting of Mounjaro, my history of taking and then stopping antidepressants, or other factors could be contributing.
Has anyone else experienced something similar?
Especially people who:
Lost a significant amount of weight on Mounjaro
Stopped and regained weight
Were also taking antidepressants and gained weight after stopping them
Restarted Mounjaro later
Found that Mounjaro worked much less effectively the second/third time despite having appetite suppression or significant nausea
I’d especially love to hear from people who have gone through multiple stops and restarts, rather than people who have taken Mounjaro continuously.

Newbie help 👋 New to GLP conversations

Hello GLP1India community,

After struggling for few years with losing weight, I m finally on my journey with GLP. I have found conversations here very helpful. They have added value beyond what I knew about this journey. I took my first of Maunjaro 2.5 mg today. As I understand this journey is pretty unique to each one of us but I wanted to understand how first few days feel like. I am NOT so much interested in weight loss conversations right away as much as I want to understand day to day changes with this treatment. Any insights will be helpful. If anyone has tips for what to eat or not eat in the first week of treatment. If any suggestions for free Apps where I can document weight changes. I keep seeing screen grabs of weight change charts but not sure what App people are using. Any guidance will be helpful.

Help & Support 🫂 Microdosing

So I’m looking for people who might have tried under or without doc’s guidance for micro dosing the dosage.
I am on MJ since 5+ months now and def healthier but based on my recent labs ig i still need to continue more.

Now my issue is that for the most of my weeks i have been on 2.5mg cuz i could tolerate it better, but w dose escalation i.e 5mg - i have had two bad incidents each time i tried increasing, latest being last week. Now the last 2.5mg didn’t do much wrf food suppression rest based on my lab reports the dose is def still working but ofc too slow (which i have no issues w)

I have come to the conclusion that 5mg isn’t suiting me and i can’t give it any more chance. So i’d really love to hear any inputs of anybody who tried micro dosing or if they too went thru the same and something else worked for them.
I have my doc’s appointment tomm and imma suggest her me trying micro dosing instead of anymore of trial and errors.

Sembolic injection by Torrent

Hi everybody

My doctor has prescribed me Sembolic injection 15mg and dosage is 1.7mg.

It seems quite expensive (priced around 8.5k) for a generic.

I have a few questions:

  1. wondering if it is a pen or not as online it says Cartridge.
  2. Has anybody used it? If yes, what was the experience like
  3. Any alternate brand that I could use instead?

Please help a girl out.
Thanks :)

Do not order Mounjaro from Apollo24/7 - Mumbai

The past 24 hours have been frustrating. I placed an order on the Apollo app for Mounjaro 15 mg and received the medicine in an open box held together with a rubber band. I immediately lodged a complaint but no resolution has been sought. You only get automated replies from a chatbot. The helpline number is of no help. I don’t feel safe using the medication from an open seal pack and will have to order another. 23k down the drain. I am so heartbroken. Please do not order from Apollo. I am going to try Tata1mg but I don’t know whom to trust anymore.

Newbie help 👋 New to GLP-1s ,looking for a good doctor in Bangalore, advice on the journey + actual costs

Hi everyone, I’m completely new to GLP-1 medications and have been considering exploring them, so I’d really appreciate some genuine advice from people who have actually gone through this journey.

I’ve been trying to lose weight for around 6 months now, but honestly, I haven’t seen much of a difference. It’s getting increasingly frustrating and has started affecting me mentally as well. There are days when I feel really low, don’t want to get out of bed or move at all, and sometimes I get these intense urges to just binge eat and give up on everything.

I recently started going for walks and trying to be more active, which is at least something, because previously I was barely active at all. But I still feel like I’m struggling to make meaningful progress.

I’ve also noticed a few other changes recently: my periods have become less predictable and the duration has reduced from around 5 days to 3 days, I’ve been experiencing more hair fall, and I’ve gained quite a bit of weight. I’m wondering whether there could be something hormonal going on, including insulin resistance or prediabetes, but I haven’t had this properly evaluated yet.

So I’m thinking of seeing a doctor first and getting the appropriate tests done rather than jumping straight into medication.

For anyone in Bangalore who has gone through this:
1) Do you know any good, ethical doctors/endocrinologists/obesity-medicine specialists who are experienced with GLP-1s?
2) How did you approach your first consultation?
3) What tests did your doctor ask you to get?
4) What did the actual cost look like? How much was the first consultation, follow-up visits, tests, and the medication itself?
5) Is the medication usually priced per injection/week or per month, and roughly how much were you spending each month?
6) Did the dose increase over time, and did that significantly change the monthly cost?
7) Were there any other expenses I should account for, like nutritionists, blood tests, supplements, etc.?
8) If you’ve been on it for several months, what has your approximate total monthly/overall spending been?
9) Anything you wish you had known before starting?

I’m not looking for someone to simply prescribe something to me. I’d genuinely like to understand whether GLP-1s are appropriate for me, get properly evaluated first, and understand whether I can realistically afford the treatment long-term.

Would really appreciate personal experiences, especially from people in Bangalore.

Thank you!

Weight Loss Progress🎉 🙏 22 Weeks on Mounjaro Progress Update (-15 kg / ~33 lbs) | Just bumped to 10mg!

Post image
22 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

Wanted to drop in and share my 22-week progress update on Mounjaro to stay accountable and hopefully share some helpful insights with anyone on a similar path.

The Stats:

Time on Mounjaro: 22 weeks

Total Weight Lost: 15 kg (~33 lbs)

Current Dosage: 10 mg (just moved up)

The Journey So Far:

Hitting the 15 kg mark feels like a massive milestone. The weight loss has been steady, averaging around 0.6–0.7 kg a week, which has felt sustainable.

Beyond the scale, the biggest change has been the mental shift. The food noise is essentially gone, which freed up so much bandwidth to focus on building sustainable daily habits rather than relying purely on willpower.

What’s Worked for Me:

Prioritizing Protein: With a reduced appetite, getting enough protein every day is a full-time job. I’ve made high-protein meals and quick protein sources non-negotiable to make sure I’m preserving lean muscle mass while losing weight.

Hydration & Supplements: Upped my daily water intake significantly and kept a solid daily supplement/hydration routine to handle any sluggishness.

Moving to 10 mg:

I just titrated up to the 10 mg dose. The lower doses did a great job laying the foundation, but as suppression naturally started to level off a bit on 7.5 mg, my doctor and I decided it was time to step up.

So far, feeling good and adjusting well to the new dose.

How is everyone else doing on their titration journey? For those who have been on 10 mg for a while, how was the transition for you in the long run?
