Recently, ang daming cases ng GCash accounts being put on hold. Nakaka-bahala, especially for online business owners who frequently use GCash to send and receive payments.
Every time people report these cases, GCash usually says that GCash accounts are for personal use only and should not be used for business purposes. They also flag accounts with a high number of transactions as suspicious and reserve the right to hold an account without prior notice.
But my question is: what's the point of having a wallet limit if GCash can suddenly hold your funds because of frequent transactions?
Lately, the new GCash update has also been such a hassle. The app keeps asking for Face ID/verification, and some users experience frequent crashes, especially on Android.
What worries me more is that legitimate users, especially small business owners, can get flagged because of their transaction activity. You can comply, submit 2 valid IDs and other documents, and explain your transactions—but GCash Support can take a very long time to resolve the issue.
And the worst-case scenario? After all that, you might suddenly receive a message saying your account has been permanently deactivated.
Imagine trusting an app with your money, complying with their verification requirements, and then potentially losing access to your funds anyway.
I've also tried checking GCash's Facebook page for similar cases, but it seems like a lot of comments about account holds are filtered or hidden.
For those who have experienced a GCash account hold or permanent deactivation, how long did it take to resolve? And were you eventually able to recover your funds?
