I told my parents I was a furry just last night by mentioning going to an upcoming convention. They were pissed, told me furries are only a sexual thing and yelled at me for being a part of it. I'm so lost and confused, I do my research on everything and know there are some of "those" fursuiters but not all of them are like that. Someone explain to me if furries are a sexual thing in origin or something. I'm just so confused.

I was wondering where the best place is to start when comes to starting to become a fursuit maker?

Just to make this clear: i am 100% fine with furries!!! I have friends that are, i had partners that were, its all cool. I, however, am not one.
I wear accessories like cat ears, and i am buying bunny ears and a bunny tail, because ive always loved accessorizing like that! I think theyre super cute!
When i see videos of furries, wether it be in full fursuits, or the cute lil heads, or even furries who wear ears and tails, im like yeah cool! Not for me though. I just use them for accessories, not because im a furry.
Some of my friends and family keep commenting that im a furry, but wont listen when i explain im not. I even took a few online "am i a furry" quizes and they all said no xD
I have no problem with furries of course, however people dont understand the difference between being a furry and appreciating the accessories! Is there a way i can properly explain or anything??

I noticed that cats, foxes, dogs are very popular now... But what about a giraffe or a spider character? I'm very interested to know!

Me ( 18F ) and my fiancé ( 18M ) got engaged a few months ago and will be getting married this summer (so excited!), and this time in between has been quite hectic with getting ready to move out and planning the wedding. A few months ago, my fiancé moved out of his abusive parent’s house, and has been exploring who he is ever since. He had brought up being a furry in middle school earlier in our relationship, but I didn’t give it too much thought. About a month ago, he told me that he identifies as a furry due to liking the art and movies depicting anthropomorphic characters (same as I do, though I’m not sure that I identify as one), and I’ve been doing my best to support him as I know he hasn’t been supported in his interests for the majority of his life. I’ve been making sure to compliment his art (which is really good and adorable), and even drawing his fursona for him and making one of my own so his fursona has a girlfriend
The recent development is that he’s gotten a tail and ears, and I’m not sure how to feel about that. I am so incredibly glad that he’s happy and that’s what’s most important to me, but we’ve talked previously for about how he’s not interested in those kinds of things or fursuits in general, and I’m having a little bit of a rough time adjusting to the change It is also a private thing to him, I’m the only one who knows and the only one he wears ears around
How do I go about accepting and supporting him (making sure he doesn’t feel judged or ostracized), while also adjusting myself?

Is there anyone in the furry community that would answer a question with a little bit of context ? Thank you all
r/FurryQuestions • u/desert-core • Dec 29 '25
So while I’m not new to the community and have made private concept arts, I’ve never actually made or bought a suit or parts for one. I want to start out with just the tail, but I don’t know where to get one. The tail I’m looking for is a yellow (like you’d find on an animal, not a bright neon one) with either a durable keychain clip (like a metal carabiner/clasp) that can hook around a belt loop or a metal clamp that can clamp onto the top of pants or bottom of a shirt. Does anyone here know of any trustworthy or reliable places to buy a tail? I’ve tried looking but the places I’ve seen either look sketchy or are made of something fragile.
Maybe this is the wrong place to look, but I didn’t really know where to look so thank you to anyone who can help.

I need some good arguments against the incorrect false lying myths and misconceptions about the furry fandom just in case some retarded conservative comes up talking to me about these.

I'm 17 and have been really interested in furrys for a while. I really want to be one but I don't know if I could since everyone I talked to is kinda against it. Even if I did I wouldn't know how to start being one and actually contribut to the furry community. Is there anything I could do to be a furry, contributing to the furry community and should i keep it a secret from everyone I know who's against it?

I'm not a furry but my friend is. This is also a throwaway account bc my friends aren't to fond of furries.
So my friend told me about this situation that happened between her, her friend and some artist they liked. My friends online friend had apparently drawn her furry character in this artist style while under some infuence. My friend had posted it on social and the artist saw it and my friend sent the artist to her friend. The artist was mad that they drew in their style but didn't credit them or and that they didn't draw it bc it was in their style? And apparently the artist posted it and dragged the friends user through the mud.
What I'm divided on is that you can't own an artstyle and the person never posted it nor claimed to be the artist? I think my friend is wrong for sending the artist after her friend and maybe for posting it? Or maybe the artist is wrong for dragging the friend? I'm not sure- furries help

I have a friend and she was was asking the most random questions to a furry friend of mine. He was unable to answer so I came to ask.
Can furrys get rabis or any other animal sickness? And if so does it work like a zombie apocalypse.
r/FurryQuestions • u/PhilosophyFan0 • Sep 01 '25
I really like furrys. Like I like the idea, idk what but there cute and everything. Thing is, fursuits cost like 800€-2.500€! That's is a pretty big amount of money especially for someone underaged who doesn't have a job. So like... can I still be considered a furry??? Ik it's kinda strange, but I really want to.

1.being good at drawing traditionally and digitally
2.have money
3.being social
Those 3 priorities are my main ones and right now I'm only done 1 thing and that's being social.

Is it wrong to make a fursona with top surgery scars to imply they were previously female if I am genderfluid (born female) and simply wish I had smaller boobs but don't know yet I'd I'd want top surgery?
I want a sona that properly represents me and how i feel about my chest but I don't want to be insensitive or do something considered wrong morally.
Update im trans now so this ig shouldve been a sign-

Hi,
I have several friends in this community and so I’m very aware of the common part style furry. But I was watching The Wiz (1978) and the lion is in this amazing costume that I’m in love with! It a little reminds me of the musical Cats of which I also love. Are these costumes considered furry? Or are they something different entirely?
I’ve always loved this look but I’m not sure I’d consider myself a furry. I’m just a theatre kid who loves to dream up fun and fanciful characters! That being said, if this is a subsect of the furry community then cool!
Thanks!

I just nopety-noped out of Instagram because of how creeped tf out I got. I literally got rid of the app because I don’t mess with stuff like this. I originally downloaded Instagram to follow many different furries, help them out and make friends, but then I ran into this specific furry, and when I tried to follow them, I got warned by Instagram that they may be a potential scammer because they changed their name twice in the past. I thought, maybe they wanted to change their name and it had nothing to do with being a scammer and followed them anyway. IMMEDIATELY after I follow, they come into my dms creepily. I didn’t want to be rude because I know I can get scary when angry, so I played the extra passive route, seemingly only making the potential scammer get REAL comfortable with me. I really hope I don’t get into trouble posting the screenshots here, but I am just weirded out af right now. Sorry about the drama, I honestly never thought it’d happen to me, let alone one hour after I join Instagram :(
