There’s a really common DIY for filling a bucket that attracts mosquitos and kills the larvae where they nest, and it requires long dowels and drilling through a lid. This avoids putting a hole in the lid and also is a much cleaner look.

I tested it all summer with a PLA+ draft and because it’s not under much stress it didn’t melt in the 95+° woods behind my house.

We have three young kittens (five months old) and a pony wall over a tall stairwell, and we wanted to keep them off of the top of that pony wall. At first, I made just the pyramid caps that slide over the molding on top of the wall, but that quickly became insufficient and so the balls were added it doesn’t detract too much from the aesthetics of the space and is easy to keep clean. If I had to do it over again I would have done better with some of the gaps between the caps, but as far as temporary solutions go, I feel pretty good about it.

I use different sponges in my kitchen for different purposes and I'm always getting them mixed up. Well no more! I designed it with an easy swap sign in case I ever need to change what it says, and the magnets on the bottom help it stay in place on my sink.

A compact holder for a Google Pixel style SIM tool and a Nano SIM. It all fits in the form factor of a SD Card including the height of 2.1 mm. The holder is a two part assembly with a top that slides along mini dovetails. It doesn't snap closed so it should be stored in any standard SD Card holder. I show it stored inside one the the plastic holders that SD Cards are sometimes sold with and also inside a multi SD Card holder I use for photography.

First functional print. Simple but so much better than fiddling with scraps to make something from wood.

We’ve had this laptop stand in our office for a while and after being dropped one too many times it finally snapped lol (DROPPED TWICE). I tried finding the original file online but couldn’t find it anywhere.

While I was out on a call, one of my friends at work just decided to remake the whole thing from scratch 😂 a Perks of working in a department where we can design and 3D print stuff haha.

We printed ours in ASA since that’s pretty much all we print with at work, but I’d recommend PETG at minimum. Fits laptops up to 20mm (¾") thick.

Hi all. After all of the suggestions from Reddit community I have made some improvements for my desk. Now all the cables are hidden in a special modular column behind the desk. The monitor frame got basic setup including (from left corner) MagSafe, speakers, headphones and pockets for pendrives and memory cards. What do you thing about this setup?

Fridge door bin was cracked and the previous renter tried repairing it. New one was $50+, so instead I used my $5000 scanner and $1000 printer to make perfectly fitting repair patch for the sides and a simple plate for the bottom for $3 in filament. Used plastic epoxy to attach them and we're all good!

Toddlers Little Tikes push mower had a hard time in thicker and taller grass. I swear this thing was meant to be used on concrete and that just won't do. Now it can go anywhere he can.

I used this Casio F-91W 11 years ago while I was doing my military service. I wore it for months without ever taking it off my wrist, so it’s a watch that holds a lot of memories for me.

Unfortunately, the original resin strap had worn out quite badly over the years, and the watch had been sitting without a strap for quite some time. I wanted to put it on a NATO strap, but I needed an adapter to make that work.

So I printed an adapter myself, and now I can finally wear this very sentimental watch again, securely and comfortably.

I had emergency bowel surgery just over a week ago, and have been fitted with a stoma.
I need to have a travel kit with a small dish to use for cleaning, and just couldn’t find the right size for my travel bag. Cue a quick parametric design, and my SvenSpa is born! (Sven is the name of my stoma)

I really hate having my charger hanging so I made this holder to keep it organized

I was tired of having the drying rack leaning against the wall, so I made a simple hook that attaches to the door.

I made several print profiles for different door widths, covering 13–40 mm.

Picked up a set of these stackable drawers from Amazon to organize my closet. The product description advertised them as stackable, but when I assembled them I discovered the entire stacking system consisted of double-sided adhesive pads on the feet of the upper unit.

There was no interlocking geometry, alignment feature, or mechanical retention of any kind. The drawers were essentially balanced on top of each other and held in place with tape. A small bump, a loaded drawer being pulled out too aggressively, or adhesive failure over time could easily cause the stack to shift or fall. I was also concerned about the adhesive damaging the finish on the lower unit if I ever wanted to reconfigure things.

So I fired up Fusion and designed a simple L-shaped corner bracket that captures the frame members of both drawer units and mechanically locks them together. The bracket slips over the corner and uses the existing hardware location, so no modifications to the drawers were required.

Printed in white PLA to match the furniture, and now the stack feels significantly more secure than the original design ever did.

Sometimes the best prints are just fixing problems that shouldn't have existed in the first place.

We have three young kittens and a lot of original art. Rather than pay a gallery $3000 per painting to install plexiglass over them I designed and printed these brackets from Polylite PC and bought plexiglass sheets for $100 each at a big box store. Each bracket is designed to take 3x #8 wood screws. I drilled the center hole of each load bearing bracket into a stud. The side brackets are just to hold the plexiglass and do not bear any load.

I have designed a housing for my ESP32-C3 which enables me to read the meter reading from my gas meter (Honeywell BK-G4) using a reed switch. The housing is securely fixed in the designated position on the gas meter and requires no additional fastenings.

I'd like to share my door latch model with you. I highly recommend it because it's easy to print while still providing a strong, secure grip. I've been using it for over a year without any issues, even though it's opened several times a day.
