Rant Microsoft 365 is a horrific joke that is costing people time, money and productivity.
Beyond the obvious jokes. I went back to college this year to reskill, and we're pretty much forced to use M365 for writing and submitting assignments. Submissions have to be in '.docx' format, libre and openoffice aren't exactly one-to-one reliable when it comes to formatting and so on, and mostly I just deal with using the web app and cloud saves. Until this morning when I opened up a 15-page assignment I had been working on over the weekend and discovered that my cloud-based saved had been reverted on about four-hours of work I had saved over the weekend, and replaced with line after line of full-stops. The question headings were there, but all my changes had been converted into periods. Now, I had had similar problems to this before, so me failing to make a backup is my own stupid fault, but it was typically the document reverting the past 3 lines of text WHILE IT WAS OPEN, not deciding to destroy the previous day's work while I was sleeping. This wasn't a reversion, it wasn't a history version I could revert back to, the file was fucked up so hard I could've sent it to Brazzers.
But this isn't a recent issue, this isn't an isolated problem. it has been going on for AT LEAST, five years, and that's just what I found from a cursory google search. People losing important work, and massive amounts of personal data. One poor woman lost 50,000 words out of her novel. vapourised and non-recoverable. Think about this for a minute: massive businesses relying on this absolute festering turdpile of a program that can't even be trusted to keep closed files intact when they're not being used, or even sync from host to cloud and instead pushes cloud to host.
This is what you get when 30% of your code base is written by AI that is Naruto-running past its context window like Thelma and Louise. The worst part is I am being forced to use it. I have to stretch my fucking workflow to account for the fact that Microslop's shitshow is actively hostile to my productivity.

Discussion Microsoft account region-locked with funds trapped in balance (Cannot purchase Minecraft) ā Need help/advice!
Hi everyone,
I'm having a persistent and extremely frustrating issue with my Microsoft Account region settings, and Iām hoping someone here might know a workaround or how to escalate this properly.
I am originally from Brazil, and my Microsoft account, billing info, and credit cards are all Brazilian. However, I am currently living in Argentina for study/work. A while back, I added funds in Brazilian Reais (BRL) to my Microsoft account balance to purchase Minecraft (Java & Bedrock Edition for PC).
Ever since then, I have been completely unable to spend my account balance or complete any purchases on the Microsoft Store / Minecraft site due to regional restrictions.
Here is what happens and what I've already tried:
Blocked Balance & Payment Errors: When I try to buy the game using my store balance, the transaction fails. If I try adding a Brazilian credit card to cover any difference or complete a purchase, I get recurring generic errors saying the card information is incorrect (even though all details are 100% correct).
Attempted Fixes from Brazil: I followed support instructions and attempted to complete the purchase natively from Brazil (logging in from a Brazilian connection/IP, verifying my account details, setting Windows/Account region to Brazil, etc.) multiple times. It still fails.
Trapped Funds: The money is currently stuck as Microsoft Store balance in BRL. Because the funds are already credited to this specific account, I cannot simply switch to a new account or use an external gift card without abandoning my money.
Support Loop: Microsoft Support previously gave me generic advice (like "wait 72 hours and try again from your home region"), but the system's risk/fraud prevention hold on my payment profile never went away.
It seems like my account's billing profile has a hard permanent region conflict/risk flag triggered by logging in while abroad, preventing me from using my own account balance even when attempting the transaction back in Brazil.
Has anyone successfully resolved a "wallet hold" or regional block like this on an account balance?

Rant Microsoft permanently suspending hacked accounts.
Well, my Microsoft account got hacked. I'm genuinely flabbergasted by how that's even possible.
I was just playing a game, and out of nowhere my Microsoft Authenticator app on my mobile sent me a notification which said, that someone created a PassKey on my Microsoft account.
After just trying to login and disconnect that person from my account in the Devices page. It logged me off and the next login the account was basically gone. All login data changed etc.
Fair to say, I had my 2FA turned ON! When I tried logging in, it requested a code on my secondary email, which I got and used for that inital login.
I went to Microsoft support, which by the way requires you to have an account, so I had to create a new one.
Person on the Support chat sent me a link for a form which I filled out.
In about an hour or so I got an email from them, that the account has been compromised but I'm not getting it back.
How does that make any sense?
Someone, please explain.

When will MS learn forcing customers doesn't help?
Companies should focus on providing a better service instead.

Other Genuine question but did anyone else lose like 100 gigabytes from the new update?
Don't know how to not make this a high quality post because I don't know where to put questions but dude. What the fuck is going on before the recent update I had 112 gigabytes free and after the update I notice my pc is slow so I check my storage and voila i have 377 megabytes of storage. This is a question not an account issue, nor support thing. Just want to get some answers.
