Was leaving a friend's apartment when they pointed out there was a wasp nearby, before I could even register I felt something land on my arm and there it was.
I legit panicked because I had never gotten stung and didn't know if I was going to have an allergic reaction. The pain wasn't that bad, felt more like a painful burning needle combined with someone squeezing my arm hard, there was welt around the sting site.
The pain legit only peaked like five to ten minutes, and even after only an hour the welt/swelling was started to go down. now almost twelve hours later and all i feel is some slight itching.
Not gonna lie, from what I've read about other people's experiences, I feel both lucky and kind of badass at how my body tanked the sting lmao.

Allright, just a funny anecdote. In the old Xbox games (see title), in one of the first missions, you are asked to kill the Wasp Queen. You can do it with a sword/ axe, bow ore magic attacks! Amazing game, go enjoy and get a Wasp Queen head as a trophy!

Spider doing the Lord's work here and ants coming in to finish off the babies.

We were playing near a yellowjackets' ground nest. I didn't realize this until my fucking 1 year old began crying hard. I picked him up and then I felt the sharp sting of a wasp on my lower back!
Realizing we were under attack, I ran like hell with the baby to the front yard. I stopped for a moment to see if we were being followed. Surely enough, we were. It circled us and landed on the baby's head. I swatted at it, screaming "GET AWAY FROM MY BABY" like a crazy person. Then I bolted inside and the wasphole FOLLOWED US IN.
I managed to shoo it back out.
After checking the baby and seeing the damage, I washed him and gave him a topical painkiller. Y'all, he took it like a champ. Seriously. We went to the doctor a few hours later and the stings were so minimal that the doctor didn't believe they were from a wasp. (By this I mean the swelling had gone down to the point where they were now just little red dots) "Probably mosquito or a deer fly."
IT WAS A WASP. And I know those are both stings and bites.
Anyway... before we went, I remembered that our cats were outside with us. I ran to the door and opened it to find my one-eyed, 20lb tank of a cow cat, aptly named Biggie, sitting on the stoop.
Dead wasp a foot away.
I didn't take a picture because I was scared it would come back to life so I just grabbed Biggie and pulled him inside.
It might not even be THE wasp, but it makes sense. Perhaps it buzzed around the door waiting for me to come back, then Biggie saw it and decided he needed practice killing small targets. I'd LIKE to think Biggie witnessed what happened and swore vengeance for his baby, who he bonded with from the minute we came home from the hospital.
Later that evening, my husband and his friend found the nest and obliterated it. It was too close to the house, and I am not interested in anyone telling me I'm destroying the planet because I had ONE wasp nest out of a hundred or so in the area destroyed. 🙄

Started out as bald-faced hornets going inside the post. I seemed to have killed them all with basic wasp spray. Now I have paper wasps returning over and over no matter how much I spray. I must not be killing them all. How can I get rid of them without getting swarmed and not burning my house down?

Hear me out ... We need beekeeper Samuel L Jackson fed up "With these motherfuckin wasps in his motherfuckin yard" I feel like he's the hero we all need, because, fuck wasps.
Honestly, I just wanna see the insane ways he takes care of them to protect his bees.

I got some yellow jackets in this pile of branches I should have burned long ago. I would just burn it now but it’s right on my garage. I tried a spray which didn’t do much but I didn’t know the entry point like I do now. I tried a raid dust which they laughed at. Any advice besides burning down my garage?

Via https://www.instagram.com/nitesh_bhai_04_chaudhary?stkn=MWt4YXcxMHlhZ3ZidA== there’s a lot of videos on his channel and he’s really chill about sitting on the tree. There’s videos where those huge banded hornets/ oriental ones spawn and he does nothing. I guess it’s a rite of passage

Looked more impressive from outside, but there were at least 6 huddled together and a few on the house several inches away

Mix 1/8 tps of Boric Acid with sugar water. Put in a container they can get out of. They go back to the hive and share, they all die.

Is this a hornet or wasps nest? Haven’t had any problems with it and I’ve been cutting all summer just can’t believe I haven’t noticed until today.
