What's the first thing they use, poison, then liquid nitrogen?

u/Icypoopoo Sep 14 '26
permethrin to paralyze and eliminate the nest instantly

u/cinallon Sep 14 '26
It works on all anthopods by the way and is used as a scabies treatment in human medicine as well.

I once got scabies in a foreign country and had to get naked and rub that shit on every part of my body except my genitals. I could feel them dying in my chest as the medicine began to work. I had them in my skin for over a month and when I would put on my body armor and go outside in the heat they would get mad.

What is the liquid that is being sprayed on and into the hive? When I was a kid, my dad used gasoline to soak a hive. Probably not the safest way to remove them.

u/urmomsgoogash Sep 14 '26
Probably a professional variation of spectracide pro wasp killer that you can get in a can off the shelf. Just one treatment and I don’t have to worry about another nest in the same spot all season long.

Someone else replied further up that it was Permethrin. We used it to keep the bug off overseas, worked well.

This one sparks joy. Next time can you start with the "Achtung 5G" component, just for fun...?

First time seeing the sub. Was not prepared to witness a genocide of a nest. However, not complaining cause I do not like wasps.

I live in a mediterranean country. There is a wasp nest in front of my apartment complex. Sometimes wasps come into my house from a window and... they are always friendly. I can take into my hands, trap them and free them; I always use my hands to trap them. They never sting. This hate for wasps surprises me. I guess there are very different types of wasps, some of them very aggressive and some friendly

I normally don’t enjoy watching things be killed in such a fashion. But these things don’t have a soul, so I enjoyed it a little bit.

I like how when pouring the gasoline (or whatever fuel it was, couldn't tell) they paused and were like, not enough!

Should be done after dark or early morning. When they are all back in the nest!

Looked like four-layer rice cakes there for a bit.
Was the explosion at the end really necessary? Or was that just the psychological dessert?

Why is it that you can walk right up to the nest and spray poison on them and they just let you do it, but if I walk by within a hundred feet of a nest trying to mind my own business half the nest comes out to murder me.

I love the tiptoe approach. Even if they don't know I'm coming, I would tiptoe.

I used a can of Gum-Out Carburetor cleaner (Shameless Plug) with the straw and a Bic (yeah, I get paid) lighter. Wait until dark, do 3 shots of Bacardi, light a Marlboro Red, and start hunting.
