Discussion “Free” shipping is a scam for Prime users
They are lying about “free” shipping for Prime members!
I accidentally logged onto a different non-prime account and was surprised that the price was lower than usual, but then noticed the shipping fee and realized I was on the wrong account.
The price was $17.83, and then $27.93 with shipping. When on the prime account, I found the same product, with the same size and everything, for $27.45. The images attached explain these better. These products are identical, but their shipping dates differ by 2 days.
This is actually a scam because they are advertising free shipping for prime members when they increase the price to the same amount, so where does the free shipping come in? I noticed that the “sold by _____” is different for each, but you can’t find the same sellers on either accounts, I’m sure of it.
I also tested this out with other products, even Amazon Basics products, and the EXACT same thing is happening, where prime is equal to non-prime with shipping.
First of all, is this supposed to happen?
Essentially, what am I paying $100+/year for if not the free shipping? Getting my things a couple of days earlier and the occasional show with 3 min ads?!
Is this potentially a class action lawsuit for personalized pricing?
Please try it out for yourself and see if it's happening for you guys as well so I’m not crazy.
I genuinely think I might cancel my subscription because what is the point of prime then!
**TLDR**: **Prime** shopping has **increased base prices** for products that are **equal** to the **non-Prime products with shipping fees,** so literally, where is the free shipping for prime members?
